No doubt. I don't think they 'caught my drift.' The thing pictured is the FORMER bearing, which was not reused. It now sits in the bottom of my tool box ;-)
geeeez... it must be slightly ovrsized and you must not fiddle with the outside diameter whatsoever. the bearing is usually pressed into the block and it does not /must not/ fall out.
if you have a factory sized bearing and it falls out like that the block is bad and you should use something like loktite to set the bearing in. best is to have it done in a pro shop so that the dia in the block is smaller.
He made the old bearing into a tool to press the seal in. Grinding it so it would slip out easily. The tool allows him to

Just use an old xmas tree gear shaft, that will knock in all bearings and seals.

I probably didn't make myself clear.. I REPLACED the engine bearings. The one I ground down was an original. I did so to make a drift tool.

so you shaved it slightly so it would pop in easier? is there a reason why they make the bearings slightly over sized to begin with?
