the movie is a masterpiece, It sure deserves to be a classic, it's as good as "the godfather" and even better than goodfellas, I love it and I watch it every year.

This movie was great but people like to idolize Frank Lucas like he was one of the best gangsters who ever existed. Anyone who thinks that must not realize that Frank Lucas was also a SNITCH who locked up hundreds of partners by cooperating with the law. I dont know about everyone else but where im from snitching is the ultimate dishonor...especially in the world of organized crime. What Frank Lucas did was save himself by shitting on everyone. That makes him a sellout and a bitch!!!

Lol it's irritating when people say "this is the best gnagster movie bla bla". Look. This movie was absolutely amazing, but not the best. The greats were Goodfellas, the Godfather, Once Upon A Time In America. Even then, Denzel probably outshined alot of the actors in those movies with this performance. The emotion in that scene at 1:02 was freakin amazing.

Frank lucas is the most dangerous man walking the streets of our city,that's what russell crowe said in the courtroom scene which i appeared in,he only said it 3 times he's a very good actor and takes instructions and listens to details very well,some people have to repeat lines 20 times until its perfect,no wonder russell crowe is an academy award winner,btw my friend sean ringgold aka BIG HEAD,former bodyguad for host FREE at 106&park&bodyguard for rapper LUDACRIS is in this film as a shooter.

american gangster was my 1st big budget film i appeared in according to ticket sales at the box office,prior i was in "belly" and "autumn in new york" i started out as a dancer on "mtv the grind" and worked my way into background work in films,i did a total of 12 films as a background actress,now i want a speaking part,but i dont have an agent nor manger to book me auditions,but i think god for the 1 sag waiver i recieved for american gangster i need 2 more sag waivers to enter into the union.

The greatest gangster film in history period. "Godfarther", Goodfellas" were good movies, but they were make believe, fictional, just like "Scarface". Love those movies but I could never put them in front of "American Gangster", or 'The Untouchables", those are the two I respect the most. When you watch those two films, its ok to get a little chill, that shit really happened!!
