  • As the cost goes up, more and more people will be stealing it. Sad, but people need it, and the price could be reduced but the power company's are there to make money, they could give a shit less if you have power or not-unless they are making money off it. One of these days I would like to be able to generate enough through means of solar, wind, or whatever to sell back to the grid. Stick it to the man lol.

  • Energy is everywhere

  • people will live better with free energy...

  • I havent paid for electricity in 15 years. Fuck you and fuck Oncore. I took a shit your wifes pussy

  • if it's made BY HUMANS it will be hacked !

  • they need to just burn that place down....

  • hey thanks now i know how to steal power!

  • People also break into unoccupied homes and run extension cords to their property. This happened to someone I know who had an unoccupied rental property. The neighbors were stealing electricity from her.

  • 5 years back,my meter stop working, and I call the company and they tell me "ok we well sent somebody to fix it"so the days pass they never whent to fix the meter, guess what I start paying $5.42 every month for 5 years that was awsome yeah,so the 5 years pass they sent me a big fat bill about $2000 fuck that i did not pay shit becaue i call them they never whent to fix it,so I won...

  • Some people have no morals and the one's that steal power will get caught one day if they don't get "fried" first ;-)

  • and now the power company is screwing us right back with their inaccurate smart meters. Only thing that makes them smart is that they show more usage than really is being drawn. go to hell ONCOR

  • @JoshMcGrath98 Smart Meters are not inaccurate. The old mechanical meters they replaced were running slow due to mechanical friction increasing over time.

  • @JoshMcGrath98 If they're so inaccurate, then why hasn't some group brought forth a class actions lawsuit?

    Prove that they are inaccurate.

Turn off everything in your house, unplug *everything*

    Go note the meter reading.

Get (10) 100w bulbs and leave them on for as many hours as you can stand to be without power. The longer, the better. (Go for at least 10 hours, if at all possible)

Note the time you turned on the bulbs.

  • @ddanielmiester Continuation:

(If you can't turn them all on at once, a few minutes isn't going to change anything measurably)

At the end of your experiment, note the total time the bulbs were on, and note the final reading on the meter.

Your ten bulbs were drawing 1KW. now multiply that by the number of hours they were on and you will get KiloWattHours.

Compare your calculated estimate to the difference between the readings on your meter.

If they differ by more than 5% you may have a case.

  • I used to Have to do nonpay disconnects. So I seen this this and worse manytimes

  • Round here if the tag is missing then they consider doing this the same as any other meter "hacking", if the tag is broke or missing they are busted.

  • can you show how its done

  • The problem I have with renters in rent homes is that they use a tremendous amount of power. They will have 6 or even 8 people living in a two bedroom home. They run the A/C 24 hours a day, run the dryer and stove a lot, and even a 50 gal water heater cant keep up with them. Then they get a $400 power bill and complain to me that they can't pay rent. After a while the power gets unhooked, they break into the meter boxes even with the heavy lock the power co puts on.Then the cables get cut, WTF

  • what type of home inspection investigates and reports electric theft?? The power company uses home inspectors in Charlotte?

  • @analyize Part of a code inspection involves verifying proper and safe electrical wiring per NEC. Tampering with electric, water, or gas metering equipment is considered a code violation in most building codes.

  • @bladedspokes Interesting. Is this a home inspection or building code inspection. VA home inspectors have nothing to do with code inspections and have no authority or qualifications to interpret or enforce municipal building codes. It's just not part of our venue. (Thank God) Certainly we would point out such things as they may impede the home inspection, impact the property value or be a safety risk. But this kind of stuff is regulated and enforced by the city and state code officials.

  • @analyize I thought I heard him say he was doing a code inspection - although I may have heard wrong. I agree that if it's just a private home inspection, for example in connection with the possible sale of the property, then yes the inspector has no duty to report the crime. However, there is also nothing preventing him reporting it to the proper authorities.

  • My neighbors are doing this... i hate them.. you would think since they sell drugs they would be able to pay bills.... low life kids...

  • @chipareu pay your bills loser...

  • @chipareu Pay your bills!

  • @tuvoca With what? There's no money! Sounds like someone needs to research the Federal Reserve Act.

  • Thanks for the video, but just wondering if no one lives in the house what would the advantage be? Unless they are running a line from the house to another location.

    Thanks again.

  • Sad that people can be so dishonest!

  • Hey Preston! I'm always amazed at what levels some people will stoop to!

    BTW--that house looks familiar! LOL

You and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Debe

  • Excellent video!!! I have seen people stealing power before. It's amazing that they don't electrocute themselves.
