  • @cocochefL7 this was the only song i would ever listen to on his album when he dropped it, nothing could compare to this one song except songs he did with other artists like fugees

  • wow john forte havent heard this name for awhile

  • I have been listening to just this track off the album for the last two days. Such a beautiful song.

  • forte is just too natural, nothing fake about him, real swag.

  • this cd came out 10 or more years ago and it's still hot way ahead of his time. forte for live!!

  • They just dont make hip hop like they used to. It was about storytelling, real life scenarios. Now it's about absolutely nothing, there is no message. Hip Hop will always be in our generation (80's) and above. These kids need to be exposed to this.

  • Wow. 2:40 Canibus, DMX, Forte, Big Pun and Mos Def? The definition of my youth right there.

  • @muchohardman Have you seen that video yet. If not check it out. Just type all those names in together and choose the video with Canibus as the preview pic.

  • You are sooooo fly Mr. Forte. Damn. They don't makem like this no more. Fine, smart and fly. Original swag.

  • FInally I found the real shit .Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane def. Murdered hip hop.........rappin bout money n bitches.......and the worse part is that they think they're good.

  • this song was way ahead of its time i heard this in1999 thats crazy

  • people slept on this album

  • Anyway John is home I hope I can bump into him and maybe just politic with the brother I hope he continues on his righteous route that Jehovah has chose for him

  • the only thing Bush did right during his Term was let this man free.

  • Exactly

  • @Fe11a11 I agree with that 1,000,000,000 percent

  • hip hop/ rap. didnt die, it went underground!!! add a plus+ if ur with me!!!

    -free ur mind

  • @pello06 true hip-hop was and always will be underground, peace

  • @pello06 Im wit you

  • It was so stupid what he did. Hopefully long time in prison taught him something. So much talent lost over these years. Pity.

  • @borewiczandgogol Honestly i was gonna respond differently but you are right it was a stupid thing he did but then again if you can show me a man that didnt do something stupid ima show you a liar. Some of the greatest artists alive or dead did dumb shit but again rather then point out his flaws that he has paid the highest price for just celebrate his talent and prison aint a place for teaching but i do hope he's learned alot and is now writing another dope album

  • @AngryCornflakes Yea, now he's got a story to talk about

  • words cant explain how great this song is. the chorus makes me melt. - love it.

  • Liquid cocaine trafficking.

  • Im glade his home. His the true meaning of hip hop. Cant wait for his new project.

  • why he got in jail???

  • for pushin..well really intent to...he claimed a suitcase with the stuff at an airport in Texas

  • he was convicted of being a drug dealer. he's innocent though.

  • fuck the dump shit what eva it takes... they used to ship in the country in the caskets of the dead soilders & put it on te block 4 u sell it n kill ur peoples... oh n just incase u dont know who was sipping it in way befoe john..????? C.I.A check ur history

  • american gangster good movie better story

  • and it's nice that he's free and all but why not free Mumia?! Bush gets no brownie pts. from me.

  • Your a Lame O Dunn....True Talk.

  • dude got busted with a bunch of liquified coke and he gets his sentence commuted by bush. this fag is lucky.

  • You right about that kid.

"Be thankful for what you got." -William devaughn

  • i resent urcomment saying "this fag is lucky." u dont even know the whole story. he was an artist who got lucky. show a lil compassion.

  • Welcome back into the PoP John...We still reppin' for you Son. Poly Sci over this garbage of today...We need Po to come home now...True Talk.Brooklyn Lives-The borough that lives:NOTORIOUS...

  • John Forte Freeeeee!!! Yeah, Now get your life together.

  • naw bro all i was sayin was george bush cares about ppl race doesnt matter.. john forte even if its about his musical talent and not race he is still black and the fact that bush pardoned him that defies what kanye was preechin.. if bush was so much an anti black person he wouldnt b pardonin one man who has been in jail for 7 years months b4 his 2nd term is up which is i think january 20th or w/e

  • the fact that bush pardoned him that defies what kanye was preechin..

not if u consider that it took Carly Simon and her son and some senator from Utah for his case to even be heard! What if he didn't know any important, well connected white folk? I wouldn't know the details but i bet GWB was pressured or had a favor called in more than he actually cares...

  • Bush like coke thats why he pardon ya boy johnny if yall recall Bush was in a rehab...things that make u go hMMMMMMMMMMMM...

  • Big up to Bush he got something right?

  • just proves the ignorance of kanye west.. trash "george bush doesnt care about black ppl." oh yeah then why did he pardon this man ... hmmm only the president has the power to pardon someone of a crime such as the one he was indited to.

  • when kanye made this comment, this was b4 john forte was pardoned. And how does the pardoning of one black man have to do with 13 million black people in this country? Oh, I get it, we should give him a pass? You say such a crime as if it was violent, it was a nonviolent offense that he already has served 7 years for. he poses no threat to society and he has maintained his innocence since day one. Keep in mind, Forte has influential contacts that have nothing w/ his race but his musical talent

  • He's Free! Bush pardoned him!

  • just hope he uses this 2nd chance and keeps his head clean.

  • Bush really surprised with that one!

    I didn't see it coming!

    Clinton? Maybe....Obama? OH YEAH! BUSH????!!!

And I agree, this is the best song on the CD.

  • Do you think Obama would pardon this man simply based on the fact that Obama himself is half black?

Please justify why you so strongly believe the president-elect would pardon a man caught with 1.4mil worth of liquid cocaine

  • I don't. My point is that having GW pardon him is lame (in the streets). An Obama pardon? In the words of another lame, Paris Hilton, "Now that's hot!"

  • so why again do you believe Obama would pardon him?

your "OH YEAH" in your comment gives the impression that you believe Obama would be more than ready to release a man caught with 1.4mil worth of an illegal substance.

  • Do you assume Obama WOULDN'T have?

    If so, why not?

Frankly, I think Obama will pardon a lot of African Americans like Geronimo Pratt and others.

You can pretend race is not a factor in America, but I choose to be more realistic.

  • Oh yeah, snatch your drawers out of your crack. My comment had NOTHING to do with a belief that Obama would pardon Forte or his race. Obama has a coolness factor that far surpasses G.W's.

  • Just re-read the original comment you were referring to.

An Obama pardon may have more to do with the fact that he'd be more sensitive to the fact that MANDATORY DRUG LAWS affect Blks more than anyone...The fact that Forte served enough time for his crime as a 1st time offender...AND because he poses no real threat to society. Forte's an Exeter grad who spent time at NYU before dropping out to pursue this music thing. He's gifted.

If Bush could overlook 1.4 mil in coke, why not O?

  • I think mandatory drug laws affect americans.

  • FORTE. FREE AT LAST. I really didn't see this one coming. felt real bad for dude when I heard he got entrapped and shit, he aint no gangsta gangsta. just a fantastic rapper. My old polysci is all scratched up. gotta order up a new one.

welcome back john. you've been missed.

  • free at last, free at last thank god almightly free at last. we are all fighting for a piece of freedom. glad he found his...

  • Bush just pardoned him. John Forte is a free man now! :)

  • Ignorance is bliss.

  • NAH son congrats on releasing a fantastic musician who made a mistake. now if only the government would start locking up the white collar criminals that have effectively crashed the global economy.

  • These mandatory drug sentences are purely discriminatory! Alcohol is a much worse drug (but that drug is "legal" because its used by whitey)!

  • thats the dumbest shit ive heard poomsie! How r u going to go as far as to say alcohol isnt illegal because whitey uses it im pretty damn sure whitey uses every drug u can think of so if that were the case all drugs would be legal tons of whites get high on pot, cocaine and hell even old whites do crystal meth

  • snitch please...alcohol has a much worse effect than any other drug combined! (ie. spousal/family abuse, drinking and driving, drunk people fighting/assaulting people/etc..)..Why is that drug (alcohol) legal and the others are not? If alcohol was predominately used by non-white people, I guarantee you that it would have been illegal long ago!

  • poomsie must of had a dead beat alcholic father or something first and foremost they tried it once and it didnt work just made things worse criminals were above the law because of all the money they were making just look up al capone buddy.tho he was caught he ran chicago for over 10 years.

  • This was the best song on the album. I remember I was staying at my cousin's old earths crib for like a week and every morning, dude was blasting this song at 8 in the morning. On another note, we were like 13-14 yrs old and we were listening to REAL HIP HOP. Shit has really changed.

  • Hey Bush pardon him, it freaking amazing!

  • hes free :)

  • My favorite song off this albulm. So sad, because he was one of the best in the game with the pen (on the low)at the time.

  • will soneone post Ninety-Nine(Flash the Message)? I've been looking everywhere I can't find it

  • Poly Sci is such an ill album. I put my whole nieghborhood on to that shit when it came out. It's a damn shame what happened to John, son is sick wit it

  • After the Fugees broke up in '97 Forte released his first album , Poly Sci in 1998, got arrested in 2000 for the cocaine trafficking charge and released I,John (2002) while on trial and under house arrest.

  • damn....so, whats liquid coccain...
