  • Are those sintered pads? My bikes sounded like that since i fitted them and i love it!

  • I have a 97 TL1000s and my bike beat 2 RC51s at our local track Dyno day . I have a Yosh Pipe and Airbox mods and the RCs had aftermakret cans . Anyway one I beat by only .8 of a bhp and the other one I beat by 1.2 bhp .

  • took my tlr to knockhill trackday in Scotland last year, and what a laugh, the tl isn't as bad a people think? ok.... the rear shock is guf, but if you know yer bikes character then you'll know the limit of it, and I was surprised how good it was against 2009.2010 R1's and blades. amen ; )

  • Agree with Hondaman, reminds me of 2000 when i chased a TL1000R up the motorway on my then ZX-9R C1,i had no answer to his acceleration,i found myself slamming the gears down to build up the revs while the geezer just pulled the throttle back,i was watching his body language and didn't see him change gear,i thought then,'i want one of those'!!

  • What people seem to forget is, it;s not what you ride but how you ride it, I have a 2001 SP-1 (132bhp) and a mate hasa GSXR750K9 (148bhp) and he always has a hard job staying with me down the twisties, i'm not saying i'm Barry Sheen reincarnated but you have to know how to get the best from your bike, and the guy on te TL obviously does, plus a big twin has loads of torque and yopu need to work a 4 harder to make ground.... simples

  • Hell ya good shit with the tl I ride a 05 rc51 and they are similar and fun as hell god I love the torque of the v-twin and most say they are not flickable but I can romp on some twisties. Good riding on both parts. Oh if you can't prove you can do better than don't say they're not good.

  • I thought the TLR was a bad handling pig? At least everyone who had one says so ..?

  • @Lee7887 Yeah, on the bumpy bits (stock) it's evil especially accelerating hard out of any corner where the front will shake it's head badly when it gets light. A good damper helps but I ride my Tiller hard so have the damper on max all the time. On the smooth stuff it handles very sweetly and feels much lighter than it is. The torque is awesome and don't let anyone compare it to any other twin; it revs so fast and high and keeps making power right up until the limiter. It's as fun as my R1

  • wow, the ninja just won't catch up

love the sound of these downshifts though...

    yummy

  • tl1000r rock.... yay =)

  • One of the best bike vid's on you tube...the rider on the tl really can toss that bike and drag his knee.....great vid..

  • @9secondsflat DUde the guy on the chase can't even match the revs at all. Hopeless :)

  • @duude345 mate, match the revs? their on 2 different cyl machines that make their power in different ranges of revs. He could of took him in a couple of places but it was a trackday your not really allowed to overtake.

mint video, good riding from the TLR

  • @zx6rluke I was meaning give the thing a rev while changing down. He just lets the revs drop right down and lets the clutch out it sounds horrible. Noob.

  • @zx6rluke I was meaning give the thing a rev while changing down. He just lets the revs drop right down and lets the clutch out it sounds horrible ya noob.

Much smoother if the revs match the speed yer doing or a bit more as the clutch is let out.

  • @duude345 : Sorry dude but i don't think you know where you're talking about, do you even have a bike? What bike do you drive?? I'm the guy on the kawasaki and i was wandering if we could meet on a track, no bullshit just driving our bikes? That would be cool, and we upload the movie on you tube! LOL

@zx6rluke: I could have take the TL on several occasions but yeah, then i wouldn't have him on video :-)

And it's allowed to overtake at our trackdays...

  • @9secondsflat on the downchange i mean if u were'nt capable of understanding that last post

  • @9secondsflat That guy is just plain shit lol

  • @duude345 and where are your vid's s howing your mad skills??? let me answer your just a poser wanna be tough guy hiding behind a keyboard....typical pussy

  • Both great bikes, but i prefere the Sound and the Vibrations of a 2 zyl bike.

  • The tl1000r's are GREAT bikes, mad mad power and sound sweet. The zx9r's are killer bikes as well,i have owned both and they both have there advantages and disadvantages. GREAT video, thanks:p

  • Cool vid! I'd forgotten about this track!

  • you hear that tl grunt at 1:31?the tiller will beat the 600,the only reason you beat him countryfa is probably cuz he dont wanna loop the bike.

  • lol not round a track it wont

  • Yea inline 4's definately outperform v twin sport bikes but theres something about that torque which is so appealing, especially on the road

  • Yip TLR'S are an awesome beast! And ohhh the sound! Im seriously looking to buy one by summer this year :)

I'd imagine many a bike would have a job keeping up with one on corner exits with that massive broad torque curve!

  • all this ridiculous bragging about who's bike is better, did anyone watch the video? How cool would it be to actually be able to race at a track on any bike?!!! How many people actually get to do that? Great video

  • how are you going to get beat by a tl1000r?!!!? I have a 600rr and I smoke my buddy on his TL EVERYTIME! Even in a straight shot, so weak!!! It's too bad too, the TL is one of the best looking bikes ever.

  • It's true, you will never get beaten by a

TL1000R, even with a skilled rider on board...

  • That means your buddy has a limited power tl1000r or the can't ride for*sh*t.

  • @Countryfa15 The TLR is a strong bike u jst gotta know how to rider her and hold ur gears out i bet u wont beat me with no weak ass 600rr i eat them..I only hav trouble with the new lighter gsxr 1000's the 07 is a Rice Rocket..Nxt bike 4 sure..

  • Triple is gay!

  • The only good triple is a Westmalle triple!!!!

  • Mmm lekker

ma de zx9 is niet zo zwaar als de tl in de bochten

nog een beetje oefen en zoef voorbij die sus

  • Go Triple .... and understand The Real Thing !

  • You with the TL100R, ready to see only my back light, far far in front of you? Some burned rubber in your face maybe?

Let's set a date, battle of the bikes 98'

  • Give me summer...!!

  • You're Right, imagine this Bike Build Today, go and Shred your Ducatis.

  • just bought a tiller 1000r there, coming 4rm a gixxer6, now i know wot they mean by torque, handling's not that bad to wot everyone make out 2 b,tillers r flickable, pitty they stopped them :-(

  • I hear ya! Imagine if they made them today with 150 BHP! What a blast that would be.

  • I think the ZX9 is just a lighter and more nimble bike than the TL in corners, which is the case most of the time as the TL is a heavy bike. I know, I have one. But it was pretty clear to me that the ZX9 couldn't keep up with the TL's pull out of the corners.

No offence to the TL rider, but if he was better at breaking (and had an after market rear suspension - stock is sh!t), it seems to me that the ZX9 would have a harder time all round.

But I could be wrong :)

  • Your bout right mate....i own both Tlr and

zx9r. Tl is definatly a point and squirt machine loads of fun but no where near as forgiving as most other sports bikes, Tl's are like hookers, you can abuse them but slap them around and they'll fuck you up. the 9r has massive power band that kicks in at bout 8k and propels you to warp speed in seconds, loads of fun in a straight line .....shit in the twisties

  • I know but then i would leave my friend on the TLR far behind and that wasn't my intension :-)

  • no offence to the zx9 rider, but the braking shoulda been harder a lot deeper and he should have been rolling onto the throttle earlier.

  • Man there was like 4 times you could have passed that TL..A couple of turns you could have easily taken without throttling down. Must be a damn good TL rider. Maybe a rear gear change? Seems you are either in the wriong gear or you are just not maxing the gear out.

  • I disagree, I don't think he could have passed him at all. The TL rider breaking was inferior to the ZX9 rider but as soon as they exited a corner the TL would pull away. The ZX9 rider was very inconsistant with his throttle.

  • I have a 2001 TLR and i LOVE that bike.. but my neihgbors hate it as i leave work early everyday..lol its louudddd

  • 2 minutes au tour c'est minable

  • On est minable, c'est vrai...but it's fun fun fun, no race dude...see you, when?

  • The TLR just seems to get better with age.. If you have one, hold onto it.. with the limited production I can see it being a collectors classic one day.. It's just a sexual bike!

  • That was awesome!! My two most favourite bikes!

  • Zam Zam Zoekie Zoem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great vid ! Look forward to more !!
