  • thanx for posting

  • The score to this movie has a Wagner feel to it. Haunting, yet glorious all at the same time.

  • Uncensored? You mean a censored version got released? I've only ever seen this version, I have the original VHS but my DVD has this version too (I'm in Australia - oh, and I drive an XB coupe 351 - have a look at my channel if you want to check it out - its not Mad Maxed tho..)

  • @xbfalcon351coupe Their are three versions of this film, the DVD one that says "The Road Warrior" that is the more international one. The R rated Australian one that Says "Mad Max 2' at the begining that contains like 3 seconds extra in gore (this close up of the arrow being pulled out, and a close up of the Boomerang embeded in the Golden Youths head) and about 5 seconds or so extra in Papagalo's speech. Now the super hard to find version is refered to as "The Lost Version".

  • @xbfalcon351coupe "The Lost Version" I once recorded back in 85 from TV and have lost since. Also called the NBC version because the narration at the begining and end are done by a younger American with some dialog differences. It contains all the same scenes however alot of the hard violence is cut out or different angles are used, when max walks to the Gyrocopter, to avoid showing the nude pictures pasted on it the camera keeps the overhead shot on Max longer, plus their are more scenes added.

  • @gutz1981 So, I take it from that the lost version is a US based version? No offence, but not interested in it. The original Australian version is, as far as I'm concerned, the only version (or at least the only one I'm interested in).

  • @xbfalcon351coupe I'm with you, I love my Australian version. I found it once and made a copy so I can watch that great title at the beginning (MAD MAX 2), thats why I had to buy the blu ray. It is based on this version only to have the extra Papagalo dialog missing, no big loss. Here is the link that shows the differences of the "lost version" with the international version.

  • @xbfalcon351coupe For some reason it wont let me type in the link, just type this instead and let me know what you think. mad max 2 (comparison: unrated - Lost 1984 TV version)

  • @gutz1981 yeh I did, got nothing...but anyway, at the risk of sounding controversial and not wanting to piss off US readers, watching this movie with a dubbed American accent just seems wrong. Its kind of insulting that the US distributors thought the Aussie version wouldn't be understood or whatever....

  • @xbfalcon351coupe Just the narration is dubbed, the rest of it is in Australian, they didnt make the full mistake they did with the first mad max. But that version has extra footage that one day should be put on a disc as an extra. And if you think thats bad I had a chat with a guy that works at the national sound and film archive once and he told me that England has the original print of MAD MAX not Australia, so its damn hard to get any behind the scenes or deleted footage from that one.

  • @gutz1981 Oh, glad to hear they didn't re-dub - but I seem to remember seeing a version or a clip ages ago where Mike Preston's (Papagello?) character had an American accent..I think, too, in relation to the English print, that basically at the time nobody, including Kennedy / Miller, knew how much of a following and cult status it would end up with. At least that print is still in existence; you never know, they may release footage later...

  • RAGE is fuck all like Mad Max,

  • I wish that guy came back so he could kill that motha fucka with some shells.

  • @TheComputerZombie Empty.

  • @DigitalAgeGrunt I know...

  • why did he go away

  • One of the best starts to a film ever in its uncut format as shown here. Wez = badass.

  • Great Clip, im sure there must be many scene cut from all 3 films, like the dream sequence in Mad Max 3 where Mel remember his wife ,son and best friend goose.

  • @geekboy03 Mad Max 2 came out in 1981 not 1985.

  • great movies, the third one was shit though.

  • The character Wes inspired the Road Warriors gimmick of Hawk and Animal (the famous wrestling tag team)

  • The sequel is excellent but the original is still the best IMHO.

  • So Long Landau, Sigh

  • How is this different from the original version of the film? I don't see a difference.

  • the second i saw the dog, i knew it was gonna die and my bro tells me that fallout was based on mad max.

  • @takbot001 it is

  • @takbot001 its not.. bullshit brother you got

  • @LightmassOffensive Fallout - a lot of it anyway - IS based on Mad Max. Like the dog companion and the armour some of the characters wear. He didn't say it was Mad Max The Game, just that it takes a lot of influences from the films.

  • The scene wasn't much different. It just had a little bit longer shot of the arrow in his arm compared to the cut. I really don't see why they cut it.

  • ...isnt that sweet? he brought his "buttboy" along for the ride! :P

  • It must have been cut for American release because my original VHS has the whole scene uncut PLUS other scenes (that were also cut in the states), for instance, where the guy who gets headbutted falls to one side clearly showing a whacking great big dent in his skull. An iconic movie that spawned a tranche of lame copies...Bronx Warriors anyone? Pah!

  • correct me if I am wrong but I've always seen these scenes, even in the 80's

  • "Uncut"? Looks like the same to me as it did in 1985.

  • If the world keeps going the way it is today, with fuel and food prices climbing higher and higher every day, violence, war and "civil unrest" growing world wide. I would give us 5 maybe 6 years before thing really get bad. I talking roving HWY gangs, millions unemployed in every state/province, the government unwilling/unable to do much about it. Then thing may head in to the Mad Max realm.

  • @bigwhitehound

Mad Max meets The Road. That is what the future will look like.

  • @bigwhitehound Ha ha, doom monger talking bollocks.

  • Yummy Mel Gibson :)

  • I worked with a guy who drove just like mad max

  • Thats my dog............

  • It's a Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 my friend :)

  • Noice...

  • BORDERLANDER800 hace años para spectrum salió OVERLANDER, lo mas parecido a un juego de MAD MAX

  • The arrow-pulling scene is packed with much more homoeroticism than the general background gaydiation of the series. That's saying a bit.

  • I had this movie on tape when I was a teenager in the 80's. Must have watched it a hundred times. I never realized that blond was a dude until I saw it on DVD as an adult.

  • @Arashieatssweets yes you could tell they were gay because they rode on the same motorcycle and he tried to attack them but the big guy in the speedo held him back telling him he would get his revenge

  • @TheScrambles1 crazy raider fags lol but im sure they would be fun to piss off

  • @AltamontKiller i dont know about that

  • Hey was the red mowhack/raider gay because he seemed so distressed after the blonde guy died. Plus you can also see on his outfit his ass is compleatly exposed

  • i always figured the bad guys in these movies used a lot of methanphetamine.

  • Comment removed

  • The 'Golden Youth" wasn't Wez's slave so much as his homosexual parter.

Or as Kundalini and Mudguts would say .. push me pull you .. oh yeah says who?"

  • Max is like "What are you doing? I cant even see what your doing your so far away...."

  • This was uncut on the old UK VHS from Warner.

  • This movie came out in 1981,I remember seeing it in the drive in with my friends and there was hundreds of cars. it was a legend of a film even back then.Australia needs to keep making films like these instead of the shit art films the Government wastes billions on satistisfying the minorities and the politically correct. Those people have no filmmaking skills or the art of telling a good story.

  • Its the fucking apocalypse with a gas crisis and people still won't carpool. hahahahhahahhaha

  • 1:47 gay lovers

  • @JKMphotography theres a whole gang of them that dress the same, their not all the same guy.

  • I love the shot lasting from 2:17 to 2:27

its one of those shots that has an intangible greatness about it

  • I don't think I've ever seen any other version of this scene. What was edited away?

  • @ViewerSonic

There is just a few extra seconds and one shot of the arrow being pulled from his arm. No big deal really.

  • @ViewerSonic Yeah man, Get the Directors Cut, The American Networks cut that scene among others, . bastards! I remember watching it in a theatre when it first came out! THE Movie BLEW ME AWAY!!!!

  • @TheBubba68 Ok, yea I think I remember there was some fuzz about this film back then. Also for some strange reason this the first MadMax film seems to be more uncommon and harder to get a hold of then the other two. I don't think I have ever seen any other version then the uncut one.

  • @TheBubba68 We got the original here in Oz we have the first movie without the American dubbed accents as well.

There's also a Japanese version but I haven't been able to get a hold of it

  • LOVE THE SOUND at 0:56 when he kicks that blower in!

  • Mad Max 2 - The rare case of a sequel improving on the original.

  • @picklerwoof

And Mad Max 3 - The typical example of beating a dead horse.

  • @picklerwoof Mad Max 2 is the real sequel. Another shit like transformers are only cash giving movie

  • Thing that always got me about these movies, 1: where'd they get the leather gear? 2: If there is such a shortage for fuel why drive around aimlessly in the desert?

  • 2:51 A one up wheelie WITH a passenger is NOT an easy thing to pull off. I know first hand after having wiped out my R1 in attempting one a few years ago, luckily I was the only person injured though. lol

  • @hopecandecieve tbh it doesnt look like there is a real person sitting behind the driver in the wheelie scene. Look at him when the bike turns and is seen from the side, looks very static to me, like a binded puppet.

  • The guy who played Wez went on to play Bennett (the arsehole) in 'Commando'...just fyi

  • 0:52 low gear sound! mmmmm sweeeeeeettttt!!!!!

  • Mad max m lembra Fallout 3

  • This is Mel Gibson at his very best..cool as fuck

  • Best action flick EVER made.

  • What was it deleted from, CBEEBIES? I've always seen this bit in the film... Weird.

  • that synth in the end....omg!!!!!!!MADMAX NEEDS TO RIDE TRUE AGAIN!

  • mad max was a legend, mad max 3 was abit gay tho not as cool as the first to but still ok, :)

  • crap, that blonde, fugly chick is a dude!!! i never noticed!

  • The reason they cut the expression at 2:30 was cause it looked "dirty", if you know what I mean.

  • no blood on the arrow?

  • plz plz plz google look up The Transfer Agreement between Zionism and Nazism,,

Anna Baltzer- Baltzer’s grandparents survived the Holocaust.[2]

    Norman Finkelstein,,

    Noam Chomsky

  • Masterpiece, pain and simple. Ground breaking actioner. They just don't make em like this anymore. Miller and Mel = Gods.

  • How chuffed am I....I meant plain and simple.

  • Wonderful....wonderful car chase scenes...as opposed to today's bullshit CGI

  • Its the same version I have always seen, Im in America.

  • i bet this is what Fred Phelps thinks of a future if the gays are allowed to live.

  • "This scene was one of the many cut in the international version of the film."

    No.

When I first saw the movie, in 1991, this exact scene was in !

  • I am so proud to be australian when I see madmax ,..1983 no computers ,just stunts, the American have been copying ever since , ye a game would be good

  • JUST WALK AWAY

  • Crazy how he mops up the gas off the road then burns out everywhere he goes...

  • you should just %$#^#$ smile and $#% me

    Mel Gibson is the man!

  • Love mad max, the road warrior, hate thunderdome. Cant wait to see george miller redeem the franchise with fury road and a new video game

  • They removed this in the USA? They must really wrap the US viewers in cotton wool, it's not usually cut out in Australia, even at an early timeslot. But then again we have tits ass pussy, the occasional schlong and swearing on at night on free to air.

USA, you have to get rid of those bible bashing (they all pick up hookers with the church collection, that's a given!) turkeys ruining your viewing experience !!!

  • @KG84C I have yet to see any version without the arrow yank part here in the US unless it was a public TV edit which probably nobody really watched including me.It was in theatrical release.I know I saw it 5 times as a kid.

  • @KG84C

shit fuck america im moving to Australia

  • @KG84C Nah, it wasn't. but i do agree that the FCC are way to overzealous with their "Editing" of what they "think" we should watch. it's bullshit man, if it's to protect kids then why don't you use the fucking V-chip on your TV and DVD player...and not take your kids to see movies that are inappropriate. it all lies with the parents, and since they're lazy...we all suffer here in the US. (Church and state are "Supposed" to be separate, but our government seems to listen to them a lot)

  • @zkilla30 Understood, while I can't back it up, I lived close to that country town (Clunes, Victoria) where the bike did the donut burnout, the "toyshop" was really an old garage, and the railway station was actually on the outskirts of town. I remember Fat Nancys restaraunt right back in my very early memories of family summer holidays (gas stop).

Church and State, my wifes from Philippines, that country has no destinction between the two, hence its backwardness.

    Cheers.

  • omfg there needs to be a mad max game

  • @borderlander800 I'd play it. ;-)

  • @paulisdead Fallout 3 is the best way

  • @paulisdead There is, but its for the NES and its horrible :D

  • @paulisdead There is a mad max game but it is just only on NES

  • @paulisdead And no... You would burn it

  • @borderlander800

There already is............... Its called Grand Theft Auto.

  • @xsvego2007 Nice!

  • @xsvego2007 That would be a good, CJ or Niko as Wez's bitch !!!!!

  • @borderlander800 Try fallout 3. No cars, but everything else is there.

  • @borderlander800 It's called fallout and borderlands

  • @borderlander800 it would end up like fallout 3 but with cars, which would be pretty damn awesome :D

  • @borderlander800 i wreckon fallout 3's the closist you'll get

  • @70schow

I would say Borderlands, but something tells me he's played it.

  • @borderlander800 There was one for the NES, back in the day. Didn't go much with the movie, but it still existed.

  • @borderlander800 When RAGE is released it will be the closest. ;)

But until now, Borderlands and Fallout 3...

  • @borderlander800 When RAGE is released it should be the closest.

But until than, Borderlands and Fallout 3 is the way to go. ;)

  • @borderlander800 There was, for Nintendo I think.

  • @borderlander800 Fallout 1,2 or New Vegas

  • @borderlander800 There is

  • Fallout....

  • @borderlander800 movie games never go good but hopefuly itd be the succesor

  • @borderlander800 There was a Mad Max game for the NES which came out in about 1990. Play it only if you dare! lol

  • @borderlander800 Yeah its called fallout. And Borderlands sucks, not to be a troll or anything.

  • i totally own it for the NES. its terrible lol

  • @borderlander800 Outlander for The Sega genesis system is probably based on this movie and the game is pretty good. The blower you can get on the car along with nitrous and blowing people away in the towns on foot with a double barrel shotgun is priceless.

  • @borderlander800 fallout is based on mad max

  • @borderlander800 there is one, its called fallout =)

  • @borderlander800 "there needs to be a mad max game"

Pretty soon the world will BE the game.

  • @petrocalypsenow One can only hope

  • @petrocalypsenow There IS a Mad Max game released for the NES, unfortunately, it's shit.

  • @petrocalypsenow You're so right. Me, I'm ready: Fast Car (check) Killer Dog (check) weapons, lots of weapons and ammo... (check)

  • @petrocalypsenow and they are remaking the film, which will most certainly be crap.

  • @bicnarok you dont know that man, i mean its gonna have Tom hardy as the lead and he's a pretty solid actor, i think it should be quite good, but we can only hope

  • @woko1988 If every other remake which has come out has anything to go by, the story and general theme will be typical with stereotypes and that sort of thing, when the original Mad Max came out it was original, I think that´s the problem

  • @bicnarok i see your point, but im going to be optimistic lol :)

  • @woko1988 Ill join you, optimism is the best approach in this world. Spread the positive vibes.:)

  • @petrocalypsenow RAGE is pretty much like Mad Max

  • @faisca5 yeah, I noticed that the first car that crashes looks like the last car unlocked in RAGE

  • @petrocalypsenow there is two games that i know off called Outlander, on super nintendo & Sega megadrive

  • @borderlander800 there actually was an actual Mad Max video game back on the NES. There was alos a knock off game just like mad max called Outlander...for what its worth

  • actually mel gibson is half gringo and half aussie, from american father and australian mother(opera singer) that was born in america and raised in australia...he moved to australia due to father's resistance to vietnam war when he was 14 years old...so he's both gringo and aussie...

  • This scene was never cut in any of the VHS or DVD British releases!!

  • the only reason i watch this movie is cause of wez and the golden boy

  • can anyone explain how this clip is uncensored? i had the vhs copy, and to me its the same clip

  • @Pikorosam The frames starting at 2:34 are not commonly shown.

I have never seen it here in America.

  • ...top 10 movies ever made.

  • 2:11 holy shit my arm! there's an arrow in my arm!

  • 1:12

  • does he engage the reverse at 1:19?? I mean, to break faster..??

  • can you imagine that dog flying around the cab with all this braking and flooring the V8?

  • in world of oil scarcity, is a V8 guzzler really the best choice?

    actually...wait...forgot he's american.

    he he.

  • @Z0toAto Mel Gibson is Australian Lol

  • @Z0toAto he's not american.

  • @Z0toAto

It beats driving around in a Prius (if the film were made today.)

  • What breed of dog is that...?

  • @wherethebuckstops blue heeler-australian cattle dog

  • @wherethebuckstops Queensland blueheeler

  • @wherethebuckstops

Blue Heeler - common Aussie cattle dog.

  • There are so many things you can spot in the second movie. You can pick the two different interceptors by the wipers. One has them and the other doesnt. When papagallo is shot the arrow in the crossbow is a different colour to what hits him.Just before max smashes up the arse of the black fairlane a split second before you can see the other Ceptor with the smashed front before he hits the car. Then it goes to the shot with the unsmashed ceptor as it smashes.

  • I just payed $140 for the diecast of this car. Dog, dog food and ether stuff. No Max tho.

  • I love that "toy song"... priceles.

  • Alright, Kenshiro and Max Rockatansky are officially the greatest heroes of post-apocalyptic fiction ever.

  • @gewizz2

it ended up in a dumped car yard, going to get crushed. some english dude found it and saved it. it now sits some musuem in the uk.

  • i wonder where the original falcon is?

  • Not finishing Happy Birthday to you is 1st class directorial genius.

  • 1:45 its grey 2:18 white arrow hmmm

  • gay holdens getting smoked by falcons some things never change

  • @bryan3044

That's not a Holden that crashes. It's a Ford Landau.

  • I love this film

  • thats not a uncut scene i got the dvd right here and it got the same intro.

  • 0:56, mmm always loved that sound :)_ _

  • masterpiece!

  • There is something sad about the music box. Does anybody agree with me?

  • Indeed sir. It reminds him of his son, Sprog, who was killed along with his wife in the first movie, Mad Max.

  • It also seems kinda sad for the guy who was killed in the truck.
