By paying a starting salary of only $25,000, and then $32,000 after the probationary period ends, the NYPD is really opening the door to alot more corruption. When people are working one of the most stressful jobs in the city, working crazy hours, putting their lives on the line, and saving lives, & dont even make enough to pay rent or put food on the table for their family, it's awefully tempting to take some money on the side. Especially if you are being paid to simply look the other way!
