I really love this game. Haven't played the first yet. I was playing these days to finish this game, but it needs the second disc :( ....well then now I'm playing the SH3. It's not that bad, I like it, though I prefer the others stories. This game ROCKS! :D

I wonder how the plotline of Covenant would play out if Alice lives...Kato doesn't just disappear and Karin still needs to get sent back to meet Ben Hyuga or Yuri would disappear...That would make a good Shadow Hearts 4...or 2.5 or something o.o

Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 I consider to really be one game split in two and together they make my favourite game ever. Not a big fan of three as it just wasn't anything special. And for everyone hoping for SH4 look out of The Last Story which is coming out on the Wii, it's made by Mist Walker which is a company made up of the Final Fantasy creators and Shadow Heart creators or if you can't wait get Lost Odyssey which is also made by them.

@kkboom01 Eh, just read the storyline online somewhere. I can tell you it's not worth it. It's disturbing, way too expensive, and it is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY dated now. SH2 and 3 are much better.

I had a hard time beating the first Shadow Hearts and I had a harder time geting the happy good ending. It's sad this game asumes you didn't save Alice in the first game.

And it's curious how the developers hide the REAL plot of the game by showing only scenes from Asmodeus part... No one could Imagine the second part of the game plot

i love this game, i just got it a few days ago (very hard to find in stores, it may be a collectable peice now?). Now for the music, i LOVE the music of this game, some games are only good if they have the music to back it up and this is one of them. i got favor to ask if anyones reading this can u tell me the name of this song and where i can find the full version of it i'd be so happy, my ipod wouldn't be complete with out this song.(or is this the full version and not just part of it?)

This game was amazing. Loved the characters and story. Sadly I've never been able to find a copy of the first game and From the New World was a step down from this epic, it was good but not great. But seriously this series deserves another entry. Does anyone know the name of the song playing in the intro? I've gotten like two OST but still it's not on neither of them.

@Icekat1047 You didnt get any of the special rings like "Fifth ring"? Use the rings right in the beginning to kill off 1-2 of his minions then the final battle is very easy.

SH1 was infinitely better and far darker. Koudelka was darker still, and I dare say better than SH1, since it didn't bother with 'save the world' but rather a very personal, nasty tragedy.

Have to disagree, I enjoyed Covenant more in almost every way. Granted I did miss the more "horror game" feel of the first one a bit, but I don't think darker is necessarily better.

sadly I didn't like this game much. I didn't dislike it but it was sort of bland to the point I gave up playing it, and found it difficult to continue. The first one was a lot more serious and started off better. This one has the silly elements turned up, and it was less dark too. Wrestling vampire? a dog, the perfume girl joining barely makes sense, ect. By comparison the first game started with someone you don't know hearing voices, and a village of dead cats, that want to eat alice.

It might be a surprised but that doesn't change that the second game took the she's dead path. In fact, they don't even bother explaining it too much in story. It's such a preview thing. The game treats it as backstory rather than a development.

Yeah, but when I started this game after the first one, I was a bit confused... I don't like when a game has more than one ending, wherein the character die, in the other he/she is staying alive... So this is in this game too. It has two endings, and an "Alice alive" one, and a "Alice's death" one (after the staff roll). And I sadly realized the makers chose the dead Alice to continue the story. After all, I love this. I glad to continue Yuri's story!

It's really funny, sure, the beginning is a little boring, but I think each games starts "boring"

The characters are just great, they're so diffrent and awesome!^^ And the fights are like in Final Fantasy but I think in SHC the fights are much better =)

I totally recommand it to you, but don't stop playing after 10 minutes ^.^

@Any06 Having seen or played most Final Fantasy games, Shadow Hearts is far better to be honest, it's much more unique and it's so fucking weird at points. A much more satisfying game series, though I've not played the 3rd myself due to awkward release dates for PAL regions.

Without Yuri, shadow hearts is nothing. Shadow hearts 3 was horrible. It has its good moments but it was a bad representation for the shadow hearts series.

Es ist klasse... die Story ist toll und die Charaktere sind sehr gut ausgearbeitet, man hat immer wieder was zu lachen, das Kampfsystem macht Spaß und man kann es auch sehr gut mit zu dritt spielen, so hab ich es durchgespielt :)

Yea well they already committed a blunder when they made SH3, since it sucked so bad. The main character just couldn't match Yuri and the storyline was really weak. All of the characters pissed me off. The only thing I like about that game was Icaro-Acoustic version. If they decide to make a 4th one, they better not half-ass it, and they should probably get Yuri, Alice and Karen involved somehow, cause that would help make redemption for the disgrace of SH3. BTW, SH2 kicked ass!
