Little Big Planet Bioshock Level Gameplay

I haven't played Little Big Planet, but as a programmer, I'm amazed by the fact that users can create levels like these with preconfigured tools. Is that really all they used? How do they get those fonts, musics and sound effects, multi-planed backgrounds and more?
