The Saturn is underrated and the Dreamcast didn't have a chance competing with the sixth generation. It's sad really. I still personally love those consoles to death. I think it's because Dreamcast had better graphics than any fifth generation console. Even though Dreamcast was sixth generation :(

I only had 3 games for it, and when the Sega Saturn game out I traded my Sega Genesis, 32X and all my games for it at a local game store. Best decision in my life because the 32X sucked bad, and the Saturn was awesome. Plus there where a few third party companies who knew how to use the Saturn to it's fullest. The 32X was only intended as a "transition system" that's why its life was so short. Sega differences between Sega Japan and Sega USA directives are well known, and their efforts to get their own way no matter if those stupid differences made Sega to became weak. And finally the tragic end with the death of the Dreamcast.

@exposed97 there never was a 24-bit system. Both the Saturn and the Playstation were 32-bit. The Dreamcast was 128-bits. But now, graphics aren't measured by bits, console power is measured by its processor, graphics card and ram.
Its main processor is a Motorola 68000, which is sometimes called a 16-bit and 32-bit hybrid, but, for all intents and purposes, is basically the same CPU the Sega Genesis uses. So... 16-bit as far as the Neo is concerned. The whole 24-bit thing comes from the 8-bit co-processor (16+8), so it was just marketing. Otherwise we'd have the Sega Saturn called 64-bit (two 32-bit CPU's)

No lie. I mean what I said. The Dreamcast is NO MATCH for the Saturn. Graphics are better on Dreamcast but thats it. I have both consoles which I play extensively but the Saturn is my personal favourite. Dreamcast was okay in its heydey but it had nothing special to set itself apart from its rivals (XBOX & PS2) The Saturn had plenty of unique qualities to fight the PSX & N64 with. Here's an article I just found on this very subject matter. I think you may find it interesting.
Now here's something that truly knows both the Sega Saturn and the Dreamcast. Totally agree 100% with that. Dreamcast is one of my consoles of preference, but it doesn't surpass either the Mega Drive or the Sega Saturn for me (which are both my personal favourites).
Glad you agree. And i agree with a lot of your points too. I have all three Sega consoles with a huge amount of games rare and common on all consoles. While the Mega Drive was clearly Sega's best effort in terms of sales. But from a gamers point of view the Saturn was by far the best Sega console out of all 3.

Fuck no... The only person that went to Microsoft from SEGA was Peter Moore and he fucking screwed SEGA royally by firing a bunch of Japanese workers that were a part of the Dreamcast team and completely abandoned SEGA. Microsoft was supposed to help with the Dreamcast project and introduce WebTV and several other features to the Dreamcast, but they went behind SEGA's back and started the XBOX project. Microsoft and Peter Moore fucking screwed SEGA badly.

(commercial failures) sega cd fail. 32 x fail Saturn fail dreamcast fail, sega pumped out so much hardware in a few short years it caused their demise as a hardware producer . It's sad really wouldnt it be awesome to see a next gen sega council... then again they better fix the sonic franchise before that ever were to happen.

No lie. I mean what I said. The Dreamcast is NO MATCH for the Saturn. Graphics are better on Dreamcast but thats it. I have both consoles which I play extensively but the Saturn is my personal favourite. Dreamcast was okay in its heydey but it had nothing special to set itself apart from its rivals (XBOX & PS2) The Saturn had plenty of unique qualities to fight the PSX & N64 with. Now here's something that truly knows both the Sega Saturn and the Dreamcast. Totally agree 100% with that. Dreamcast is one of my consoles of preference, but it doesn't surpass either the Mega Drive or the Sega Saturn for me (which are both my personal favourites).

Glad you agree. And i agree with a lot of your points too. I have all three Sega consoles with a huge amount of games rare and common on all consoles. While the Mega Drive was clearly Sega's best effort in terms of sales. But from a gamers point of view the Saturn was by far the best Sega console out of all 3.
