  • Hey, where can you guys get the burners for Raku Kilns?

  • slightly off topic but can you bisque in that raku kiln

  • Neat

  • Tim, it would be nice to see the finished raku from this firing.

  • Is the kiln made of metal lath, or expanded metal? I have metal lath to build one, but I have been wondering if it is strong enough. I like the extension of the side to make the pot warming more protected.

  • I am not sure what the difference is. In college we called in expanded metal, its like a zig zag thats welded at the points its pretty tough stuff.

  • Great video, I guess that you're spraying compressed air on the pots instead of blowing on them to get the crackle.

Check out my video of horse hair raku decorating.

  • I love to do Raku. It's such an exciting process. Seeing those pots all yellow & orange is a total rush!

  • Thanks for posting....good explanations and images

  • Tim - how long does it take for those pots to fire before you take them out and put them in the combustibles? Also, do any of those pots ever stick together that you're putting in the trash can all together with the paper??

  • our firing range from 15 minutes to 35 depending on the work in it we go slower with the larger work. the paper separates the pieces long enough for the glaze to cool.

  • looked like an exciting day........ great video
