  • i saw this in a book i got at the book fair at school about 3 years ago. i bet i made about 20 during that class. lol =)

  • @AutieCrafter123

Yes, the author of this also writes (and folds, in a way) origami books about his creations!

    "20"?! Wow, that's a lot of cards!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

    :-)

  • wow

  • @CupcakeWinkz

It's a really great design! The author was just inspired!

    :-)

  • how cute!. ;3 soon for my boyfriend;3 almost a year(:

  • @o0OpurpleturtleO0o

Really, the author of this was quite inspired, when making this!

I'm sure your boyfriend will appreciate it a lot, because he will get the will, the dedication, the patience and the love in such a gift like this by you!

May the Lord bless you and him!

And thank you so much, for letting my day begin so nicely!

    ^_^

  • Como se llama ese papel?

  • @chrystopher1694

I coloured and printed and cut the papel by myself!

  • @typhlosion666

Who invented this really was inspired! And me, with my tutorial... well, I did my best!

Thank you so much for stopping by and so nicely commenting!

    ^_^

  • @Sushitrang57

Oh, well, there's so much in this comment of yours first of all!

I'm always delighted to read about stories of love... err, I should maybe say "hate" (?), between relates or friends and such, and to know that my tutorials are used to exchange signs to show those feelings!

I'm sure he'll appreciate your thought, patience and efforts! :-)

And it always feels *great* to know that following my tuts was simple and easy!

Thanks to you, for your very rewarding words!

    :-D

  • LOL, AT THE END! XD!!!!

  • @TeresaWii

I like to wave hands to greet people... and, well, I like that you like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by... and for putting a smile on my face!

    :-)

  • @danbergam ^-^

  • ughhhhhh i need new speakers... these don't seem to work anymore

  • @slipknot09atforum

This video has no sound at all, hence your speakers might be ok!

    ;-)

  • @slipknot09atforum

    P.S.

Sound aside... did you like this tutorial?

    ^_^

  • @danbergam yeah its great thanks

  • @slipknot09atforum

    Thanks to you!

    :-)

  • @danbergam Thanks! :D

  • @TheANiMeCrAzY21

    You're very welcome!

    :-D

  • @danbergam OMG!! Thank you sooo much I finally got it :)

  • @TheANiMeCrAzY21

First of all, thanks to you, a lot!

And... well, I congratulate with you for succeeding! :-)

Notice, in facts, that me I couldn't put nothing more than the tutorials and the explanations... but you actually did put the will, the patience and the skill to actually make it!

    So... be proud of yourself!

    :-D

  • @danbergam well let's see ... Steps 6, 7, 8, and 9

  • @TheANiMeCrAzY21

    Step #6:

Consider the upper-left diagonal crease you have made on with step #3 having had as a result the overlapping of a medium-sized white triangle on the red layer: well, along that crease fold a thin strip (parallel to the crease) towards the inside.

The first time you only create that recessed crease; the second time you use that recessed crease to fold the thin strip on the back of the red layer, so that it becomes hidden!

Hope this is clear enough! ^_^

    (7,8,9 follow)

  • @TheANiMeCrAzY21

    Step #7, #8 and #9:

They're easier to do than to explain, but let's try!

The point with them is having a little right heart's side which is similar to the left's one.

With Step #7 you do the beginning crease: after that you have a small triangle made up of two layers lying between the top white layer and the background red one.

With Step #8 you have to bring that small triangle outside ( by inverting the three folds it's made up)... and with step #9 you only fold it down.

    :-)

  • This is really hard :(

  • @TheANiMeCrAzY21

May I help in any way?

If you let me know what step(s) you find hard to do, I can put down a written explanation!

    ^_^

  • Is it a square or a rectangle at the beginning

  • @alicat223543

    It's a square!

    ^_^

  • it would be amazingly helpful if i knew the measurements of the paper required to make this :D

  • @Lilazngirl328

Hmm, I think the answer is: the biggest square you can cut out from an A4 paper sheet!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

    :-D

  • it would be amazingly helpful if i knew the measurements of the paper required to make this

  • NOT to waste time here it starts at 0:38

  • @crazydaniel1231

On one side, I understand that I could begin my videos without any intro at all... on the other side, I like my tutorials to have their own style.

After all, it's only a little more than 30 seconds; anyway, let's not forget that the video player has a cursor that can be dragged around for to instantaneously reach whatever point!

  • That is *so* cool! Thanks for demonstrating it!

  • @copafish1

Indeed, Sy Chen made a really great job with this!

Thanks to you for so kindly commenting!

    :-)

  • you are a genius! :D thanks!

  • @Coorrryyyy53

You're too kind, I didn't designed this (Sy Chen did), I only demonstrated it... but, thank you so much, your words are such a great and encouragin impulse to go on and do my very best!

    ^_^

If you haven't yet, please subscribe, for not to miss my other tutorials... and, more are and will be coming!

    :-D

  • That's it?

I was expecting a full on Heart Card...not some strange half hearted card!

  • @Showakusai

First of all, I did not design this, I only demonstrated it.

In second place, please, take in account that it all begins with a single piece of paper, and it doesn't involve the use of glue nor scissors... if we consider all of above, I think we might be happy to actually be able to fold a valentine's card *with a heart on it*, even if a bit strange!

    ^_^;;

  • @Showakusai

    I just had an idea!

Would you like to try a traditional origami with a pocket in which one may actually put a message?

It's cute and looks like people appreciate it a lot!

    Just search for

    Origami heart

and keep the second result, the white-red heart with a message popping out from it!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam Thanks a LOT for the suggestion! And please, don't feel I was insulting your skills, because that would be FAR from the truth. You are very well talented in these arts and I truly appreciate your demonstration. I was expecting a 'full on Heart Card' but I was truly happy with what you had provided. I did end up making this, and my girlfriend absolutely ADORED it! :D I must thank you for the help and I'm sorry for any misunderstanding, and please, keep up the good work! :D

  • @Showakusai

Don't worry, I did *not* feel insulted!

And, it's obvious that each one of us has its own idea and a specific origami design may or may not correspond to that idea: nothing bad in this!

    ^_^

Oh, well, what really matters is that you and especially your girlfriend were satisfied with it!

    :-D

It's me that I thank you, for sharing with me your joy and for your kind apologies... and let me tell you, that if all were kind and gentle like you are, the world would be a better place!

  • me incomoda la imprecision de tus dobleces

  • @jaxiel86

    [Automatic translation]

Cuando hice este video que fui al principio de mi experiencia con origami y mis dobleces fue a veces inexacto. De todos modos, yo pienso que el video es entendible a pesar de mis defectos.

  • @IndescribubbIe

The size of the final Valentine card is half the size of the beginning square.

    For example:

    16 cm -> 8 cm,

    20 cm -> 10 cm.

Thank you very much for stopping by and asking!

    ^_^

  • q estrasante hazlo mas rapidooooo!!! make it faster!!

  • @samy0chumu

These tutorials are made so that even an origami beginner may follow them!

Anyway origami is also about calmness and patience...

  • what the hell man?

  • @00madbox00

    About *what*?!

  • k grande tiene k ser el papel prk ami no mesale

  • @jessi42409

The size of the final Valentine card is half the size of the beginning square.

    For example:

    16 cm -> 8 cm,

    20 cm -> 10 cm.

    ^_^

  • Gracias si funciono

    se quedo sorprendida

  • @TheGabriel1510

    ^_^

  • very nice mine came ou great, but your's is better. =P

  • @MrsSweets1977

Thank you so much, you're so kind!

But, let me tell you that origami is a matter of practice: I'm more than sure that the more you'll try the better the result will be!

    ^_^

    Thank you again!

  • hermoso! ya lo hice jijii y ya lo regaleee =D

  • @inesarjona

    ¡Muchas gracias!

    ¡Será un gran regalo!

    :-D

  • I from Brazil and I loved everthing. By the way, do you know to make a origami wallet?

  • @rosouza0912

And me I'm from Italy, and I *thank you very much*! :-)

A "wallet"? I think I can learn how it's made!

    ^_^

  • You make many beautiful things

  • @magiclapins

....and you have and write such beautiful, rewarding thoughts and comments!

    ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • Can you tell me what size is the paper? Please.

  • @RockerGirlMetal

Sadly, I don't remember what size it was... but the author of this origami gives a hint that maybe will help you decide: the size of the final Valentine card is half the size of the beginning square (16 cm -> 8 cm, 20 cm -> 10 cm)!

    Hope this helps!

    ^_^

  • i used printer paper :P

  • @MyShadowninja

    That's exactly what I did!

    ;-D

    Thank you for stopping by!

    ^_^

    You're welcome!

    ^_^

  • this is awesome im gonna make some for my friends to give to them on valentines day :) :)

  • @PEACELOVE756

I replied to this comment of yours but, don't know why, my reply is not here...

So, thank you very much for your kind words, and for putting a smile on my face: I'm sure your friends have been touched by your kindness!

    ^_^

  • esta bello el video pero ponle musica por que me duermooo jeje

  • With your computer and/or hi-fi system you may listen to your favourite music.

  • i made mine perfectly.. its just that i colored the paper n the color smeered. lol

  • Things that happen!

    ^_^

  • were did u get tat paper 4rum

  • Simply painted and printed with a photoretouch software, then cut by myself.

  • is that A4 paper you used at the begining ?

  • I don't exactly remember it... but I think it is: anyway, it depends on how much big you want the Valentine's Day card!

  • É muitoooooooooooo lindooo mais eu não consegui ainda to tentando.

  • Obrigado!

  • i got frustrated!!!

i think is beacuse you dont talk....

    its furstrating

  • I think that you wouldn't get frustrated if you paid attention to the only thing that matters, with origami tutorials: making that origami figure!

Try to concentrate on that, on simply redoing on your piece of paper what I do... really, it isn't a matter of talking or not: in facts, you make an origami figure with your hands/fingers, while looking my fingers' moves with your eyes.

Hands/fingers, eyes... brain: nothing else is really needed.

  • P.S. "nothing else is really needed"... well, at least with origami! ^_^

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have just finsh making one for my mom! I cant wait to see her look on her face.. Once again and happy mother's day to you and to your mother!

  • Sorry if I reply only now, I had my connection down and could use only a modem-fax.

Happy belated mother's day to you and to your mom... and thank you so much, for your kindness!

  • (After a while..) Yay, I did it! =]

  • :-D

    Congratulations!

Thank you for letting me know!

  • I tried making this according to a diagram, but Steps 7-9 really confused me. However, seeing your video really helped! I think I'll give this another shot now. =]

  • It just goes like this, each one is made in its very own way, learning included: hence, there are persons that better learn from diagrams and persons that better learn from videos.

What matters is to be able to make it, the way or the other!

    ^_^

  • aha... thanks a lot :) its so nice,,, i really liked this origami heart card... i was AMAZED ho beautiful it was ;) keep up the good work, u are go0od ;)

  • Yeah, it's just amazing how it's made up with just one piece of paper!

Thank you, more tutorials will come, one of these days!

    ^_^

  • sorry... COULDNT make a nice heart :p

  • can you tell me the centimeters the paper should be? i mean 8 by 11 or anything else, because i tried it with an A4 paper and could make a nice heart :/ can u pls tell me?

  • If I'm not wrong... I think I've just used the largest possible square one could cut out from an A4 sheet of paper...

  • Very nice!!

What type of paper is it?

  • Thank you very much!

Well, basically you can make origami things with almost any type of paper... assuming that the ticker is the paper, the harder is to crease it.

If I'm not wrong, this one is regular printer/copier paper.

  • i made it =) and im gona to give it to my bf tml! tml is my birthday ^^ hope he will like it~ thanks for the sharing ! really appreciate =D

  • Thanks to you, for having let me know about a woman that shows her love to her man with such a nice, delicate gift: I appreciate it in return, more than words can actually say!

And, by the way... happy birthday!

    :-D

  • No problem :) I think your videos are all great so keep up the good work!

  • Thank you again!

    :-)

  • Yeah well that's nice of you to put it that way, because many videos start with like "a bird base", and people might not know how to do that ^^D

  • I always try, when making these ones, to put myself on the side of who's watching and making these... even for the first time ever.

I'm really glad that you appreciate it, it means a lot to me!

    ^_^

    Thank you!

    :-D

  • That's really cool thanks :) It's just so slow lol

  • Thank you!

About the slowness... well, in this way even who's new to origami may successfully follow it!

  • WAAAAY to much to read the first part of the video. it would make it a litle more interesting if you spoke it instead of writing.

  • ^_^

When I began with this series I was not so comfortable with my spoken english... and, well, I wasn't really comfortable in origami making too, hahaha!

That's why I ended up writing and not talking... everything would have ended up in a big mess, haha!

But who knows, I could even try... to just announce the number of the step: I'm not yet comfortable enough with spoken english for to face the trial of describing all those folds! xD

    Thank you for stopping by!

  • you should put some music in then... it'll make watching thevideo more interesting. the oregami skill is AMAZING, but the quiet video is akward to watch

  • Well, you may ever consider the idea of taking the chance to listen to the music you like the most!

Anyway, in my latest tutorials I've often added some natural backgrounds... I just love them!

    ^_^

Thank you for your kind appreciation and for your advices!

    ^_^

  • hmmm... its kinda boring because it has no sounds but enought if that the hear looks difficult on vid but easy in person..

other than that 15/5 stars :D

    Thanks man!

    you made my day

  • Yes, it has no sound... but you may chose to listen to your favourites music!

Thank you for your appreciation and for the stars!

    Have a nice day!

    ^_^

  • wait..square paper...right?

  • Yes!

    :-)

  • AHAH< okay thnks :)

  • You're welcome!

  • What size paper did u use?

Cuz I'm twelve and my small brain can't figure out wat size the paper you are using is...and it won't work with normal binder paper :(.Plzzz respond I need these by next week.

  • You're not small brain!

I think that in this case I used a 16 cm x 16 cm square, something like that... because I've drawn it in Word (cheking out it was a perfect square), printed it and cut it from an A4 sheet of paper.

  • Om my gosh,Thankyou!!! You r sooo nice for actually replying! Yeee! Happy early valentines day! By the way, nice videos and paper folding! Kaye thankz!

  • And I did reply also to this comment of yours, but I guess that something went wrong!

To reply is simply due, just like in real life... and it's a pleasure too!

Happy Valentine's day to you and your beloved ones in return!

    ^_^

Thank you for your very kind words!

    :-D

  • ive seen 3 videoas so far and took my time and did all.... the heart is like totaly simple but yet again so cute!!!

I already know to do the humming bird (spelling) so..... i learned the heart and the butterfly....

U are genious u could better up my relationship hahaha well... ok!

    ty again

PS. I love uR "goodbye's" haha

  • Yes, that heart's both simple and cute!

Hopily, you'll like some more of my tuts!

Haha, no, I'm not that genious (these are not even my designs).... but if you tell it... ok, I'll have to believe you! xD

About your relationship, for which I renew my best wishes...

...it's a bit like if I was... an Origami Cupid (TM), throwing origami darts everywhere to make the love blossom between a crease and the other!

Thanks *to you*, for your kind, in-depth comments: the type I like the most!

    :-D

  • THIS IS ADORABLE! hahah, thanks so much for posting this, i've looked at your heart-with-a-pocket tut, and i can't decide which to do for V-day! then agen, who sez i hafta choose? =)

these vids make me see you as the romantic sort. ^.^

  • Oh, in facts, one is not forced to decide at all: twice the card... twice the joy given and returned!

    ^_^

Well, yes, I guess I can be definided as "romantic", somehow: in my hairy, moustached heart there are tons of love!

    ^_^

Thanks to you, for being so kind to leave such words!

  • u should really put some music in the backround. it's kinda eerie w/o sound.

  • My point of view.

You're watching this video with a computer.

Maybe you've tons of mp3s in it.

And/or it has a CD drive.

And/or there are tons of on-line radios; tons of music videos in YouTube!

So, while you fold you may put on by yourself whatever music you like!

After all, a modern computer is perfectly able to manage more operations at once: browsing YT, listening to music...

Also, there's always the risk that I put a background music that you actually dislike!

    Think about it.

  • oh yeah i see!!!!thank u very much!!

  • You're welcome!

  • hi thank u soo much for teaching us this!!ur the best!!!!!but uhmm can i ask a question?...i made this origami but i can't figure out what shape it is when u opened it..hmm..:)

  • Thank you very much... oh, for sure there are many, many origamists better than me... but I try my best, that's sure! ^_^

The red shape when you open the card? Well, it's a heart! ^_^

  • OMG. thank you so much for posting so many awesome & useful videos :D

you have helped me alot (:

    fantastic job [:

  • Thanks so much *to you*, for your kindness!

Words like yours always put a big smile on my face!

    :-D

    More tutorials will come!

  • Cuteee!!! ^-^

  • It's really a cute result, the author is just a genius!

    Thank you!

    ^_^

  • you've never let down to the art of origami

  • English is not my first language... so, I have to confess that I don't understand what you meant to say... sorry...

  • he means that you are always there, or you are very helpful, he is just saying thank you.

    where are you from?

  • I'm from Italy... and at school I've just learned French and English... that's why, sadly, I don't know much spanish... shame on me! ^_^;;

Thank you, JuanJoseRosasB, for your kind words... and thanks to you, juantor16, for your kind explanation!

    :-)

  • nvm!!!

  • ^_^

  • i never showed what happened to the other flap!

  • omg! this is so easy to make and it looks great! finally something i can build, i'll give it to my firlfriend and then i'll tell you how did it go. :).

    Thanks Man!

  • This is the kind of comment never missing to make me smile!

    You're welcome, Man!

My best wishes to you and to your girlfriend!

    :-)

  • she was so happy, because im not a very creative person, only with my guitar though... and she said that this little things were the ones that count!

    yay hooray for danbergan!

i feel artistic all of the sudden, i will make more paper thingies! thank youuu

  • That's great!

Oh, I think she's right, the present begins with the intention, the thought of giving it; and to make it with one's hands is even more meaningful!

    :-)

Haha, origami just has this effect: the more you make it, the more you want!

    Hooray for you two!

  • This kind of things are so cool, thanks brother n_n

  • Thanks to you, brother, you're very kind!

    ^_^

  • ey ese si estuvo mejor q el otro ok

  • Hm, I think that even the other heart is not so bad, after all... it's a matter of tastes, I'd say...

  • So cute!

    :)

  • It definitely is! ^_^

  • dude thanks so much for all these tutorials they help so much!! :D

  • Well, thanks *to you* in return for your kind enthusiasm!

It's the best reward, to me! :-D

More tutorials will come... soon!!! :-)

  • Olle which are the measures of the leaf(sheet).

  • I'd say... the biggest square you can cut from a A4 sheet!

  • It isn't my fault if YT hasn't implemented yet a FF button in its player: this would let anyone to play each vid at the preferred speed.

My vids are meant to be followed even by who has never tried origami before: and many wrote me for to tell that their first contact ever with origami was successfull thanks to my tutorials!

Origami is not a crash run, where the winner is who's fastest.

    Origami teaches patience.

You should calm down a bit, for to better enjoy origami.

  • omg!

    i love your origami vids

they're better than the others cause you do it slowly, and show us what you're doing! :)

  • And you perfectly got my intention: to make these tutorials slow and clear!

Your words are a great reward, to me: that's why I sincerely thank you! :-D

More origami tutorials will come! ^_^

  • omg! that IS THE MOST PERFECT THING FOR VALENTINES DAY! REALLY!People have such good ideas for paper folding in the world! :)

  • I agree! It's both easy, beautiful and useful!

We couldn't ask for more, from a simple squared piece of paper! ^_^

  • OMG i mean..... im shocked cuz i never thought i'd be able to do this and look at me..... thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I really appreciate it..... thank you... gracias amigo, porque ahora he conquistado a mi chica..... aite then. blessin'

  • It began, for me, with an origami book that I didn't even touch for something like... 18 years! :O

I had the same surprise (and I was soooo proud of myself!), when I realized that I was discretely able to make them! :-D

Your thoughts, your words are just great: they are really, really rewarding to me! ^_^

To know about you and ti chica, and my origami tutorial... made me smile a lot!

    :'-)

God bless you and her: the Love you both share is a precious gift! :-D

  • you need to speed it up a bit...if we missed a part then we can pause it...your timing is way off. I stoped it @ step 3 and moved on to a different u-tuber vid...Adios!

  • Goodbye!

  • wow ur really good xD

  • Haha, I'm not so good... I'm just a newbie... maybe that's why I'm so slow in doing origami! xD xP

    Thank youuuuuuu! :-D

  • eso es realmente impresionante.

ahora ya se como hacer cosa para mi novia

    gracias

  • Tu es muy gentil! :-)

Felicidades por ti y tu novia!

    ^_^

  • thats really stupid

  • What is "stupid", exactly, in your opinion?
