I think you and I probably would disagree on the role of government in people's lives. Most things the gov't tries to "take care of" just wind up costing more and not getting any better in quality. I think we need to make gov't smaller and spend less rather than coming up with new ways to spend more money. I think its evil that we literally work from January to the end of May just to pay taxes. I think he's 95% right on much of his foreign policy, though. :)

The reason Dennis Kucinich is so forthright and honest is the same reason certain aspects of the campaign have less of the shiny polish of a major network news show. Like a work-boot compared to a pair of shoes which go nowhere and do nothing. I hope that supporters send more money. I believe they will. People are inherently good, despite what we're fed about ourselves.
I'm not really complaining about the production values as much as the use of a "news" set and format for a campaign update. "News" should be produced by impartial observers, preferably keeping their editorial content to themselves or clearly marked as such. I know in the era of Fox "news" these distinctions are getting blurred, but that's no reason for the good guys to jump on the bandwagon.
Point taken about the construct. But these are desperate times, and as measures go, this one does not seem like desperation but instead like a ray of hope. Incredible! The debates were once run by the League of Women Voters; now they are now run by the media--who have a vested interest in the election. Kucinich has advocated media ownership controls and a return to the "fairness doctrine". Thus blackout the media have applied to him, most recently his exclusion from last Thursday's debate. It's as bad as Russia under Putin.

Why should a political party have anything to do with a debate held by a newspaper? Even though I disagree with the Register's decision to exclude Rep. Kucinich from the Democratic debate, I don't think that there's any reason to believe that anybody outside of the newspaper could have played a role in deciding which candidates should have been allowed to participate in its debate.

I think you're making some valid points. I think that it would have been helpful if the party had expressed some disappointment in the fact that Dennis was excluded from the debate (especially considering that the Register included Alan Keyes in their Republican debate), but I don't think that the party was directly responsible for the Register's decision to exclude him from the debate.

The age criteria for being able to register to vote in the primaries/caucases is that one has to be eighteen by the GENERAL election (the election in November). That means that if you turn eighteen between your state's primary/caucas and November, then you can still vote for Dennis in the primary/caucas.

All the people for a candidate stand in a group, and people go around to get people to join their group. I have utmost respect for Kucinich, but honestly, the faux news setup here seems beneath him and his integrity and intelligence. Anybody remember Tim Robbins' movie "Bob Roberts"? There's something about the tone and technical amateurism of this clip that leaves it hanging somewhere in between image manipulation and satire. My 2 cents.

I suspect the show is being done on a shoestring because there is less corporate financing.
The reason Dennis Kucinich is so forthright and honest is the same reason certain aspects of the campaign have less of the shiny polish of a major network news show. Like a work-boot compared to a pair of shoes which go nowhere and do nothing. I hope that supporters send more money. I believe they will. People are inherently good, despite what we're fed about ourselves.

I'm not really complaining about the production values as much as the use of a "news" set and format for a campaign update. "News" should be produced by impartial observers, preferably keeping their editorial content to themselves or clearly marked as such. I know in the era of Fox "news" these distinctions are getting blurred, but that's no reason for the good guys to jump on the bandwagon.

Point taken about the construct. But these are desperate times, and as measures go, this one does not seem like desperation but instead like a ray of hope. Perhaps we will look back on these days with a wry giggle. Not unlike the early days of certain aspects involving any movement of substance. Baby steps have gathered to a gallop by things like this. History is rife with similar stories.

Incredible! The debates were once run by the League of Women Voters; now they are now run by the media--who have a vested interest in the election. Kucinich has advocated media ownership controls and a return to the "fairness doctrine". Thus blackout the media have applied to him, most recently his exclusion from last Thursday's debate. It's as bad as Russia under Putin.

I think that Davis' report cast the comments made by the Iowa Democratic Party's spokeswoman in an unfair light.
Why should a political party have anything to do with a debate held by a newspaper? Even though I disagree with the Register's decision to exclude Rep. Kucinich from the Democratic debate, I don't think that there's any reason to believe that anybody outside of the newspaper could have played a role in deciding which candidates should have been allowed to participate in its debate.

Even with that, I would have liked them to put some more pressure on having Dennis in the debate. Why not have the candidates themselves refuse to show up at the debate without everyone present. That would put some pressure on them!

I think you're making some valid points. I think that it would have been helpful if the party had expressed some disappointment in the fact that Dennis was excluded from the debate (especially considering that the Register included Alan Keyes in their Republican debate), but I don't think that the party was directly responsible for the Register's decision to exclude him from the debate.

That Heather in front of the bus, the sound was awful and bring her closer and the bus further away. That Investigative reporter has a voice that makes my skin crawl. On an earlier video "Dutch" has no enthusiasm at all. I'm getting a video camera for Christmas, and I will make a video for Dennis.

The Democratic Party, at least in Iowa and I suspect elsewhere, is scared of Dennis and his progressive message. The age criteria for being able to register to vote in the primaries/caucases is that one has to be eighteen by the GENERAL election (the election in November). That means that if you turn eighteen between your state's primary/caucas and November, then you can still vote for Dennis in the primary/caucas.

Hello, IPC! I like Dennis and think he is awesome. However, I am a RP supporter. Dennis is the Best Dem candidate. What would be really cool is to have Dennis and Ron get together. As a former Iowan, I find some of these comments insulting. Yes, IPTV and the DM Register really f-d this one up, but we are a good state to go first because we have caucuses. It is really cool. All the people for a candidate stand in a group, and people go around to get people to join their group. Then they eliminate the lowest candidates so then you have to join a higher one, so it is basically like instant runoff voting.

As a native Iowaian, I am ashamed of the behavior of the Des Monies Register. It has cast a dark shadow over what we consider to be independent thinking here in Iowa. Just know not all voters in Iowa are drones. Dennis is the best man for the job.

In the 2004 Elections the Iowa Staff was insanely incompetent. So much so that some of the national campaign staff questioned their motivation for working for Dennis. Could it be that they just fucked up again?
