Just came up with the theory that this song has something to do with Joyce Carol Oates, can anyone confirm or deny? I know little about MMEB, but this strange song has fascinated me since youth.
I was a big fan of this group in my younger days. If they only would continue to play like this. I went to a concert with MMEB in Oslo last January - It was a geat disapointment. It was a two hour long guitar masturbation... If they only could stick to versions closer to the originals and this perfomance. The auience was buuuing. (I still love to listen to the albums "Watch" and "Angel station".
MMEB today is to complex for the normal oldie fan.
keep listening the 60 versions- you don't have to understand the new arrangements and the long guitar solos.stay in your 2 minute world, better at home watching TV
couldn't disagree more. I've been to nearly 40 concerts of MMEB and I just can say that this band surely rocks the stage. I prefer their live versions much more than the (still great) studio stuff. cheers.
This must be only a partial of the song. Where is the vocoder ? I'm sorry, but I love this album and to reiterate what vechernoff said " Were they in a hurry to catch the last train ?
Actually the sucker registered 160mph, but I had just had it tuned up, and had more acceleration to it, so... I did... I pushed the envelope.. so, don't really know/care, how fast I went.

Wow, Steve Waller was a beast on stage. It's a pitty that he didn't stay longer in the band.

A few references to the 'original' here - the original is on a 1976 album by Heron.

GREAT driving song. Used to put the top down on my TR-6, French Blue, and push it to 140mph. LOVE IT.
