  • I want it

  • no tokerev TT-33 that hand gun was in WW2

  • The Luger was not "rare" in WW2 it was the standard issue side arm of the german army, Allied soldiers were all desperate to have one as a souvenirs. It was considered extremely desirable.

  • Was Luger a rare handgun in WW2 because I watched band of brothers and everyone wants one.

  • Did Luger made P-38's?

  • Does the luger keep jamming or something?

  • What's funny is that I've never shot a pistol before- only a rifle.

  • Yup!! This video is a lot better when I high :) I'm toasted lol

  • I'm 12 and I own a Luger. I know nothing about guns, but I do consider it to be in the top 5 sidearms of WWII, German or not.

  • As much as I love the luger I just prefer the p-38.

  • @ucncalmemom Its the opisite with me i mean the p-38 is a very nice weapon i just dont like the look of it

  • @wolffromsteam For me the looks are the best part :P

  • that luger is firing blanks

  • My Luger does perfect with Winchest 115 grain "white box" ammo.

  • Nazi pistol

  • Nice roundup! Seems like the Luger was balking a little though...

I think the 1911 and P38 are probably more reliable.

After all, the Luger's more than 100 years old!

  • Lugers need extensive caring, even small dust powder can lead up to a jam, also it needs high pressure ammo to generate enough force to fully work the action cicle. This is probably why most of the videos here it jams constantly, because people are shooting with less powerfull ammo, because it is cheaper. Nevertheless it is a gr8 firearm.

  • Ah.. The P08 Luger.. beauitiful...

Especially the jams.. I can't remember having ever shot with a Luger without going through the "bang bang jam" syndrome..

THe P 08.. The only automatic pistol you have to operate by hand after nearly every shot..

The P38 Watther is not as nice, but it won't jam.. And neither will the Colt .45...

  • dude where did you get that luger and how much did it cost

  • How many spare mags do you get with an M1911A1 in world war 2? 2 or 4?

  • @gdawgs101 at the war and peace show a standard one was sold for £900

  • I have a luger that my grandfather snagged off a german officer in the battle of the bulge its in mint condition about how much would it be worth

  • Is the walther really pricey

  • AAAAAHHHHHH HES GOT A GUN!!!!!!!!!

  • It'd be cool to see another video of the Webley, Tokarev, and Nambu!

  • @errell111 thanks for the reply it was something i often thought about-my grandad brought one back from ww2(captured in france)complete with holster-he also had the same guys cigarette lighter inscribed with his name-number,and eagle crest-its still in the family to this day and in mint condition although i dont know what model i know it was a 9mm parabelum luger pistol with white letters of some kind stamped into it-my uncle now has it as he is a registered firearms keeper-regards john

  • @we66y357 cool, what do you think it would be worth? I mean an actual gun used in WW2, sweet.

  • @ryantwiggsmith909 WWII Lugers are actually worth more than their WWI counterparts, for some reason. An original with matching serial numbers in good, shootable condition could easily cost around $1500, if not more. Some models can go for tens of thousands of dollars. The "frankenstein" Lugers cobbled together out of spares can cost as little as $250.

  • @Gunny761 And a modern replica? I mean, a real firing Luger made recently? Thanks in advance.

  • @HerrOttoKranz You're quite welcome! It depends on the maker of the Luger if it is as replica. Krieghoff built 200 Lugers in 1999 in honor of its 100th birthday, each selling for about $18,000. If it was made by a local gunsmith or other professional, it depends entirely on quality and the authenticity, but they are not typically worth anywhere near as much as wartime Lugers. At most, they should fetch $500, but that is just a guess, since I haven't seen many live-fire replicas. Hope that helps!

  • @Gunny761 Yes, it does help a lot. I am in Europe but now I have a price reference anyway. So thanks again!

  • those p38s are so sweet!

  • Wierd they all sound the same

  • nice pistols-could you tell me why most lugers ive seen here on you tube seem to have a problem with consistent fire meaning the toggle always has to keep being re cocked halfway through a magazine by the way love the colt 1911.45acp thumbs up

  • Was at the range yesterday with a 1916 luger, a P38, and a PPK (which kept jamming)

  • wish i had some of those.

  • Comment removed

  • that M1911A1 is not vintage.

  • are those reproduction that luger looks to be in way too good of condition

  • @LtStopid The luger is from 1918 so no its not a repo

  • @jrpeters5 springfield armory g.i. .45?

  • @jrpeters5 1918!!!! ur kidn me AWESOME!

  • @legopercyjacksonfan1 Ha yeah, its a nice gun, Lugers are certainly some of most beautifully crafted firearms you can find, they sure as hell don't make guns like that now lol

  • @jrpeters5 Lugers rule. m1911's cant be beaten and i dont know what a p-38 is, hey did u see the vid of aguy who dug up the Sturmgewehr/Stg-44/Mp-43 in bastogne

  • @jrpeters5 *cough* 1911 *cough*

  • @jrpeters5 ...yours seems to be a bit of a jam-a-holic.... mag problems?

  • I love how literally NONE of these guns would be getting this much attention if it weren't for COD... Fucking epic win for a video game lol XD

  • @stuka52 dude the Me109 and the FW190 were both better planes than the P38 and the 190 was better than the P51d Mustang AND that gay ass P38 Thunderbolt as well as the Me109

  • That is a neat place to shoot. Is that an official gun range?

  • I love how you charge the weapon with your finger on the trigger...great habit.

  • @AirmanGray1 I love how people act like they know everything...great habit.

  • @jrpeters5 well that would be proper gun safety, pretty well known stuff there and not a bad idea to follow

  • @toweringmatt Oh yes because I am going to pull the trigger while I pull back the slide...

  • @jrpeters5 just forming good habits, cause when you have your finger in the trigger guard all the time you're bound to end up shooting something you don't wanna shoot

  • @toweringmatt Well, if I do thats my problem then.

  • @jrpeters5 or the person you shoot on accident

  • @toweringmatt Oh yes totally, nevermind that my dad was a 9 year military veteran and taught me to always keep the gun up and down range...

  • @jrpeters5 great for him and you.

  • @toweringmatt Apparently sarcasm is a foreign concept to you.

  • kkk white kids ganstas

  • I'm going to say two things.

    1) I personally like the Luger, because it's design.

    2) Why do you guys pretend to give a rats ass about which gun is "better." Most human beings have this thing called their own preferences.

  • ....? thats not a Colt M1911-A1 that's a Springfield...

  • The Luger sucks!

  • @LeonShadeSlayer13 Uh huh, I suppose you have a gun thats better then?

  • @jrpeters5 Well I certainly have, I find the Tokarev TT-30 to be my favorite WWII handgun, although I certainly find the M1911 pretty sick.

  • @jrpeters5 lol

  • @jrpeters5 Any gun that doesn't jam like that would be better

  • @Paulmarti Yeah okay, this was a while back, the jamming problem is no longer there. I guarantee you still wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of this gun, even if it still had the jamming problems.

  • @jrpeters5 Hey man, the luger is still a bad ass gun.

    Points simply for vintage awesomeness.

  • @onionknight777 Yeah, the jamming problem is pretty much gone, so now its really working well.

  • why are childrens shooting guns?

  • @dantiel92 nigga, please

  • @dantiel92 why shouldnt they?

  • @dantiel92 CUZ SHOOTING IS FUN!

  • @dantiel92 why not?

  • @dantiel92 you failed that grammar test...

  • @dantiel92 In norway we can shoot with rifles from we are 10 years. :P

  • @dantiel92

    Nothing wrong with that.

  • @dantiel92 Why not? My Dad bought me my first gun (.22) when I was 11 years old, and my first centerfire rifle a year later. I got my .357 magnum for my 13th birthday. And my son was similarly trained and treated. ALL teenage boys should be trained in the safe and effective use of firearms, and also in archery, fencing and martial arts. It gives us confidence, builds our self-image, keeps us fit and makes us better lovers.

  • @horselips

Also helps teach the youngins to respect firearms and know their capabilities, and they'll be less curious about them if ever put in a situation where a firearm is obtainable without supervision. As soon as my kids are old enough, I'll be teaching them firearms safety and training!

  • @horselips And the women folk?

  • @mistertakeda Why not! Go for it!

  • @horselips Right on.

  • @horselips Why not teenage girls too?

  • @horselips I take your point. But you are an American, right? I guess in the US that kind of upbringing is possible, but in Spain, my country, your would quite likely lose custody of your child if you attempted something like that. As sad as it sounds. I am 22 and I like firearms, but the closest thing to one I' ve gotten is a pellet rifle :(. Here you need a firearms' license (like a driver's license, including a sanity test), and on top of that my family happens to hate guns. Anyway, I agree.

  • @horselips well thats how us conservatives view life. now you know why i hate liberals?

  • @varun009 I am a liberal and proud of it.

  • @jrpeters5 you treat and respect firearms like a man should i will let that pass.

  • @jrpeters5 Nothing wrong with being a liberal IMHO (as long as it DOESN'T make you think that ownership of modern weapons should be restricted to soldier-apes and police-monkeys.)

  • @bjggjb There is nothing wrong with being a liberal and a gun owner...

  • @dantiel92 Why not?.

  • Reliability is Priority, If the gun doesn't shoot, its dead weight.

  • The Luger's such a mechanical wonder, like the M16A1 , so many parts.....so many jams

  • i bet that luger was cheap!

  • broken

  • lugers are dust magnets and they shoot crappy when dirty but you cant beat a clean luger.

  • i have the luger and the walter they are sick

  • that gun needs some oil and a new spring!!!-- the lugar

  • Replace every spring in the Luger and that will stop the toggle from hanging when it's being fired.Mine was doing the same thing. It has not missed a lick since.

  • Where did you get those

  • Wish I could have at least one :(

  • U can own as many guns in Kalifornia as you want as long as they meet the legal list, yep, there's a list but no gun can have a magazine larger than 10 rounds even if it was a 22 cal. what a bummer.

  • I want that

  • I hope nobody picks on these kids at school.

  • i bet more german soldiers died because of the luger's propensity to jam....

  • I'm getting this one soon. (Vintage)

  • Kids & Gun

  • You tried lube that Luger alot more than you usually did, see if the thing works.

  • Colt 1911 Wins . . . Try and tell me wrong. Because America won . . .

  • @HerrTrigger00, well the most used pistol caliber is 9mm(parabellum), I think (M9, MP5, ... and so on). So you can say that the germans are the winners. But the Colt 1911 is just awesome - so yes, it won!

  • @HerrTrigger00 They didn't win alone, just saying, you can have superior equipment, but still lose the war, just look at the US in Vietnam.

  • @HerrTrigger00 Ha, you can each one has a trade off, the M1911 sacrifices accuracy for reliability and stopping power and the Luger sacrifices stopping power and reliability for accuracy.

  • @jrpeters5 So in other words, perhaps having both weapons wouldn't be a bad idea eh?

I can imagine duel wielding them like rambo.... Then getting shot up shortly afterwards.

Seriously though, the best of both worlds at the time I guess.

  • @SamPD2 Yeah, buying both is a good idea, both are very great for any shooter.

  • @jrpeters5 They should a better gun using both models .

    Great accuracy and stopping power

  • @Dpyrt Can't rewrite history I am afraid.

  • @HerrTrigger00 japanese lost the war!!!hahaha!!

  • Correction america did not win... freedom has prevailed.

  • @HerrTrigger00 haha so americans had better planes? no hah they had MORE planes.

  • @eXpLiiiSiT The P51, P38, were better than the me109 and fw190, the p47 was about equal to the 190. We had better long range and medium bombers than the Germans with far superior tonnage capabilities. The me262 was a great plane but came too late. And yes we had many many more of everything.

  • @HerrTrigger00 Because a handgun can win a war by itself...

  • @HerrTrigger00 America? There were other countries comprising the Allies too...

  • @HerrTrigger00 Technically Russia won, so Hurray for Tokarevs.

  • @yomejustacandy more likely nagant revolvers

  • @HerrTrigger00 that really doesn't mean anything, Germany had much better technology than us Hitler was a moron thats why they lost and lack of supplies but mostly being outnumbered by russia america britian canada and other countries.

  • @arm1207 Germany defiantly did not have better military technology than us, better technology in other places though. We spend too much money on the military for that to happen.

  • @NIN1024 they had more advance technology. We had our share but not as much as Germany. It doesnt really matter now but we do spend way to much money on the military :)

  • @arm1207 Allying with Japan was a terrible idea...

  • @TheSevenCamels yeah kinda on there part they where successful in the late 1930s but thats it but you have to give them some points, for such a small country with limited resources they did pretty good

  • Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't the Germans use the P38 alot more then the Luger in WW2? I know they used the Luger in WW1.

  • @SpencerM1A1 The number of Lugers in the battle field of WWII wasn't as much as seen used for officers that work in Berlin.

  • i much rather prefer the p38 over the luger

  • I love the reliability of the luger!

  • shure jams alot

  • haha what a nice classic collection there xD it never gets old even if the triplets already more than 100 years old lolz

  • your luger jamed alittle

  • Nothing against them, I have one. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is a Rpro-Springfield Armory 1911A1 not an actual Colt? haha.

  • @Tprsteve01 You would be correct!

  • @jrpeters5 I was just curious but after always hearing the positive stories of the Luger is it true about it's great accuracy and that it feels better to shoot than a lot of guns(due to the shape of the grip to easily fit in the hands) I just wanted to know if it is as good as they say it was because of how sought out it was by Allied troops and collectors.

  • @spazgecko Well, its accuracy is amazing, love that part about it. The design of the grip is meant to be very comfortable, most of the weight is in the handle where as the M1911A1 lots of the weight is in the barrel. In terms of reliability, not so much as you might be able to tell. Yeah, it is a really neat gun though.

  • @spazgecko your absolutely correct its a excellant well made pistol accurate as hell very funny about the ammo and have to keep it articulious clean and very close machinig no slop like in the 1911 a1 mark

  • @jrpeters5 where do u live?? becasue here in california, i don think i can have that many guns.. do u know if i can?

  • @TheWhole9Yards1001 I live in Wisconsin. As far as I know, California is probably the strictest state when it comes to gun laws. Definitely gonna have to check how many you can own. Not quite sure what their laws are concerning the number you can own. My advice though is that if you really want to own guns, move to somewhere other than California.

  • @jrpeters5 BALLS

  • Did the Luger jam at all? I've heard lots of stories about Lugers being very unreliable.

  • @Phase9Productions that's the main reason it got replaced by the p38 what was a VERY good pistol.

  • how you get the guns

  • @EddieDaOnly1 Luger was from a gun auction, P38 was from a firearms store, and the M1911 was from another firearms store.

  • i just realized that the slide on the p38 looks like the f92, another german innovation

  • i still dont understand why the luger is worth 1million

  • @lostnightfilms What do you mean?

  • @Radomid the luger has been sold at 1 million dollars

  • The Luger seems to jam in the beginning after each shot. How come?

  • Are these the only handguns used in WWII?

  • @SuperOmegaPwnage No no not at all, the P-38 and the Luger were used by Germany and the M1911A1 was used by the U.S., the British used the Webley Mark V, the Japanese used the Type 14 Nambu and the Type 94 Sheki Kenju. And the Soviets used the Tokarev TT-33 and the Nagant M1895 Nagant revolver.

  • @jrpeters5 Don't forget about the Browning Hi-Power and the Walther PP and PPK.

  • @SecretService80 How do you see a Walther PP and PPK as well as a Browning Hi-Power in this video?

  • @jrpeters5 I was talking about the list of weapons used in WWII that you commented about to "SuperOmegaPwnage." Those weren't on it.

  • @SecretService80 Of course I missed a few, I knew that! I couldn't possibly name them all, but the Walther PP and PPK were much less common than the P38 and the Luger and I only named the sidearms from the major countries involved in the war, because Canada used the Browning Hi-Power.

  • @jrpeters5 Fair enough. Nice video by the way...

  • I would run for president, but then I would be restricted. I'm a gun enthusiast myself. You won't be able to be one if Obama is president for another term.

  • @Hardwarepat Uh huh, and how many of your guns have been taken away by Obama?

  • @ExoticSpotting I am sure that I am wasting my time asking you to piss off but oh well that way when I block you for your troublesome posts that way I will at least have a reason for doing so.

  • @jrpeters5 I am not being 'troublesome', I am pointing out falsities in the claims you make.

If you don't like being questioned then fine, block me.

Silencing dissenting voices doesn't make you right.

  • @ExoticSpotting I am not trying to make you see my point of view however, when you come on here with the intent to cause trouble then we have a problem don't we.

  • @jrpeters5 'when you come on here with the intent to cause trouble then we have a problem don't we.'

I never came here 'with an intent to cause trouble'. I came here after searching for Luger videos, noticed your slanderous comments, and responded.

You can blame yourself for the 'trouble'. If you hadn't said what you said, there never would have been a backlash.

How can you not see that YOU are the cause of all of this?

  • @ExoticSpotting

If you had been respectful, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

  • @ExoticSpotting Don't worry he's an immature ignorant idiot who fails to see the other side of any argument. As far as I can see in the comments, he lost every single battle he got into.

  • @Sting3733 Really? Another troll? God you multiply like rabbits...

  • @jrpeters5 I'm not a troll. I looked at the arguments and decided for myself. Think before you make an ignorant and uneducated comment.

  • Ok, to all my viewers, I appreciate the time that you take out of your day to view my videos. However, I have quite a number of annoying people who come on here with the intentions to cause trouble and create arguments. I am having a hard time understanding why we can't keep the discussion in the area that the video is focused on and better yet why we have to argue about it. I am all for debating but its gotten out of hand. If you want to complain about something do it on a blog. Thanks.

  • @jrpeters5 'I am having a hard time understanding why we can't keep the discussion in the area that the video is focused on'

Did you type that with a straight face?

You slander an entire sub group of people, ignore my rebuttal, and then have the gall to accuse other YouTubers of starting the controversy.

Go back and read your comments from that past few months, that should help you understand whats going on.

  • @ExoticSpotting Actually, its morons like you who come on here and post crap to stir up trouble, I have my own reserved opinions about things and when people make stupid comments I let my opinions be known. After all isn't that what debating is all about? However, the majority of the viewers that comment are not here to debate, they are here to cause trouble and argue. You apply to the latter. I would appreciate it if you would refrain from causing anymore trouble, I am asking you nicely...

  • @jrpeters5 'I let my opinions be known. After all isn't that what debating is all about?'

If you think making ignorant comments that demonize an entire group of people is 'debating', than you need to consult a dictionary.

'they are here to cause trouble and argue.'

Do you really fail to see that YOU'RE the one causing the problem?

You yourself admit that the majority of the commenters on this video are in disagreement with the things you have said.

    That should tell you something.
