I'm also Swedish... it just takes some getting used to but you'll get the hang of it with a little practise ;) Just do like me and become a regular costomer at the local Irish pub and therby getting to know the Irishmen working there :P

That'll get you used to the Irish accent.

Though I am part Scottish so I have a little advantage from allready knowing the Scottish accent. But I'm sure you'll be fine with it too, soon enough. Cheers :)

I'm American and we supposedly speak the same language and sometimes I have a hard time with the Irish accent, Scottish is worse though, they infuse words that we do not use which makes it tough. Example: Battle of the Somme by the Dubliners

Bikel's version is in his Elektra album From Bondage to Freedom (1960). There were two versions of the LP, in mono and stereo. It seems most people did not spring for the $1 extra to buy the stereo LP. My brother bought the mono LP, but it disappeared years ago, unlike the other Bikel albums I now have. Bikel's version ends up much darker than the Dubliners' version, his is a real anti-war song.
