Very nice! But I don't think this is locrian, rather it's G pentatonic or G dorian. In lots of literature locrian is referred to as the "forbidden mode". Think of it: it has a diminshed tonic chord :)
@stmarci thanks for the comment. It's true a lot of the notes i'm using could lean towards the minor pentatonic but then the b2 suggests Locrian/Phrygian. The b5 further suggests Locrian but then the omission of the b6 doesn't cement the tonal nature of it. The b5 could also be seen as a passing note or part of the pentatonic blues scale. Open to debate I guess!
@casimer I see your point! However, the flatted notes suggest rather pentatonic/diatonic bluesy tonality. It's very hard to catch these unusual modes, espacially locrian. For example the characteristics of phrygian can be best heard when the first three chords or notes are played/strummed (?v=oAWR_dBCgFA), even though most of its notes resemble a minor scale. For me this seems a rather bluesy stuff, especially the way you play, but you've got point. :)
thanks for the vids man, i've been learning from them for weeks now. I'm having trouble nailing that shake thing. Are you hammering on with the ring finger before the pinky shake? I guess I'm just wondering because it seems easier (but maybe not right) to do it with the stronger ring finger. Keep up the funk!
@slaphancock That's great that you're learning the grooves. I am hammering on with the pinky, it is quite tricky to do and not the easiest way to flow into a shake. Fingering wise, it's right to use the pinky and a good way to build the strength in that finger. More vids to come!
Thanks man. The band is still going strong, we're working on new stuff and we're recording our album in March in Italy. Should have some gigs around London soon too
Hi Kurt, thanks for the comment. Went to your channel to see some new vids from you and saw the dreaded CTS news that's really harsh rest up, hope it gets better, cheers
Pretty easy. Looks moderately sophisticated until you slow it down. Didn't take long to nail it.

That little lick at 0:44 was epic.
What ever happened to that progressive pop metal band thing you were in? I believe it was called 'School'?
