Btw I would totally "borrow" your chrome/black lamps..and the yellow ones....maybe the bathroom one too. I have approx 18 lamps some in reserve when I need a change. Your description of them being sculpture like is very accurate. Friends have mentioned I seem to have a slight problem collecting lamps...it use to be chairs!!!

It kind of looks like a Target/J.C.Penny's show room... The apartment is missing things that reflect a living person, if that makes sense. Personally, I believe rooms should feel organic, with an eye kept on detail, and not so pretentious. It's not a complete failure though; you have more talent than most.

That's kind of the point. These people creatively made thier small spaces extremely stylish and warm. A lot of people these days are going more for smaller spaces. It's sort of the hip thing now.

It's so true, and it makes a lot of sense. In America, we take our space for granted but that is changing a bit, for the better, and we are gaining a bit more of a European (or Asian!) aesthetic when it comes to making the most of our space and using efficiency as a design element in and of itself!

I'd say it's more that people don't really have a choice if they want to live /and/ eat. Prices on apartments in many parts of the world is insane! Where i live, in a 25 sq.meters apartment (small bathroom, small kitchen, livingroom/bedroom), the rent is a little over 1200 USD! Not included electricity:/

People are just learning to live in smaller places. Not because they /want/ to, but because that's the only option most people get.

Nice setup, even though if I were in that crib, I'd maximise the space even more. And those lamps... I could get by with at the very most, 6. If I wanted more ambient light, I'd go for candles. Good effort with the earth tones, though.
