Actually, the K-FX may be upgraded to 5th generation due to the fact that threats from North Korea would require top-notch stealth capabilities in the air. The government has been reevaluating the purpose and the importance of stealth capabilities. So, by 2018, we could be expecting to see indigenous 5th generation fighters, not 4.5.

@Dwkim91 sounds impossible, every one knows the russian have strong ability of develop fighters, but their pak-fa is facing serious problem that almost need a redesign. how can you expect the korean start from zero and suddenly reach the top? don't forget the klsv rocket, failed twice but still can't found where the problem is, these heavy military domains are much complex than you think.

@gunman2015 Actually, the KF-X is mostly financed by South Korea and 63% of the technology is Korean. Besides, Turkey has taken up just as much of the financing as Indonesia.

So, either way, this plane would be of a lot of different countries, but South Korea is the primary.

It's nothing untill the prototype is flying. It's always easier to make mockup and models.

External storage destroy the RCS, no matter how stealty the aircraft is.

It's even worse to load the weapon under the wings,the pylon gives even additional RCS number. Weapons loaded under the semi-recessed fuselage weapon station will give less RCS.

for now they are creating a less advanced plane and purchasing 5th gen planes from other countries
