No, this guitar is actually loaded with active pickups: EMG 60(neck) & EMG 81(bridge).

But the stock pickups were hot too.

is that a floyd rose on your explorer? is that stock or did you moded it? (as you did wth the pickups and the controls ;) )

This guitar came originally with an Epiphone Floyd Rose Licensed bridge: this is a discontinued edition. But I improved it later with an original FR I got thru eBay.

hi man seems he didn´t answer actually if you want to install emg pickups you can go to the emg pickups website and there once you choose a product you´ll be able to find the manual to how to install

With a pair of EMG pickups I think this is a good guitar for the money. Maybe better for riffs, but the neck is very comfortable for solos too. Regards :)

In my opinion this is a good guitar for the money, but with another better pickups: Seymour Duncan, EMG, DiMarzio, etc...I play classic rock with it and it sounds well.

I got it thru eBay, just from a german seller. I have changed the Epiphone licensed locking tremolo wich the guitar comes with for a real Floyd Rose. I think this model is now discontinued. Thanks and best regards :).
