  • hello Violet

  • I remember when my Brother got his car broken into and he got his Bible stolen along with all his Christian music.

  • I bet the person who mistakened your bible for a purse was very shocked when they found out what it really was.....

    :)

  • @KingOystar LOL I bet so :-)

  • Praise God on your recovery :)

  • Just a quick question, what do you think about their being several editions of the Word of God, like NIV, Living, Narrative, NASB, NKJV? Not that I am against it, but there seems to be alot of legalism claiming that all other editions except the original King James version are corrupt. I wanted your thoughts on it..

  • @Rawk4Life I believe that KJVOism is actually blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Those that believe that the KJV is the only inspired and perfect word of God in English are saying that God is incapable of preserving His word before or since 1611 without the help of man. It is a sin, IMO. I think the KJV is true and valid, but there are proven errors in it, just like with all other translations. Ultimately, without the Holy Spirit they all will fall on deaf ears.

  • nice. i personally like my audio Bibles the best.

hair looks nice its really grown fast.

  • @JaycieKyler Audio Bibles are great especially when I didn't have the ability to concentrate enough to read (like when I was really sick). Thanks on the hair...it's past the shoulders now, so that is exciting!

  • Why dont Luthrens preach from the book of Rev?

  • @KingOystar It's mostly because Martin Luther felt we should concentrate more on how to live as a Christian rather than worry about the end times.

  • You need to check out Job 39:9 in the KJV and New KJV. Someone is hiding the unicorns. The satyr from Isaiah 34:14 is AWOL as well. I like the KJV because it is "God's perfect Bible" (or at least that is what my friend Mark says). However, if you are reading other non-Mark approved bibles you might take a look at the New Jerusalem (a popular Catholic translation).

  • Awesome video and neat story with each bible. Really neat :)

  • @ElectroReptilian They each mean a lot to me :-)

  • Its interesting you mentioned the verse about all scripture being of God while talking about the NRSV. Check out how that bible words it sometime. Its quite different than NASB and most other more evangelical Bibles.

  • I love your voice. You should be reading Scripture with waterfall in the background and posting them as audio.

I have a Revised Standard, NIV, Amplified....I also have about 10 older versions in e-sword including Bishops and Geneva.

I do have a copy of The Message as well when I just want light reading. Not for study just reading

  • @truthsintheword Thank you, I've been told that before (about my voice :-) )

I've been meaning to get the Amplified because I find that I have been using it on biblegateway for reference. I'm not a fan of e-sword, though I know many people love it.

I agree...the Message is for light reading so you get the gist of it.

  • this was neat seeing all your bibles! Right now I sort of own 3 bibles. One of them is lost in action, so I have no idea where it is. It's not lost per say, just...missing. The one I use the most is my ESV bible, it's my favorite. I also have a NKJV Teen Bible that I got back in the day..and I have an NLT pocket bible that my mom got me after getting water baptized...and it's that one that's missing...

  • @CoffinBuilder89 The NLT is very readable. It's the one my pastor preaches from. I sometimes use the ESV online. NKJV is probably going to remain my favorite.

  • I have lots of Bibles too! I have a little Bible that was given to me at school in 2nd or 3rd grade (I'll have to look and see if I dated it). I've saved it all these years!

  • @Jinxie228 Oh, I hope you post a video! The ones from our youth are so precious to us!

  • Good to see ya Sis (((HUG))) I loved seeing this, one of my first was the Way, and the Living. That green womans one that you showed me is an awesome Bible. Wow I had never heard of the HCSB, I'll have to check it out.

LOL violet and Mary's cat likes eating Bibles.

Im praying for you always VK.

    Agape, donny

  • @donny71954 Sorry I missed this, Donny! Total accident! The HCSB is really nice but I need to read it more! I didn't know Mary's cat did that too! Praying for you daily!

  • I have quite a few Bibles (my wife told me I have to quit buying them) but I currently use the ESV on my Ipad. It is a study Bilbe and with the Ipad, it makes it so easy to go to the notes just by touching the screen. Although I do miss turning the pages sometimes. I also like the NIV even though it does apparently have some problems. But I figure the Holy Spirit will make sure I get right message from His Word.

  • @GrandpaJim777 There is something tactile about a physical bible. The feel of the pages, the smell of the ink...you can't get that in a computer. And God will preserve His word!

  • cool. I like using my JPS or Artscroll TaNaKh.

  • @KingOystar I'm not familiar with either of those...well not really. I know what a TaNaKh is but I don't think I've ever seen one.

  • @VioletKitty411 JPS is the "Jewish publication society" and Artscroll is a very popular Orthodox Jewish publication. I buy all my Siddurim (prayer books) from them. you can get them in a compleatly translierated english. but I do not know if they do that for all their books.

  • My bible is on my blackberry and an e-sword on my computer... guess i can't make a video! lolz....

It is amazing you have a bible from the 3rd grade! wow.. that rocks...

    Jesus Rules!

  • @mostradicalmanever Oh I still get that one out to read it sometimes because I do like how it reads. I can't believe I never knew that it was an NASB, lol!

  • @mostradicalmanever JC 1!!! Hallelujah!

  • As a book collector I got a few myself. No rare or obscure ones, one that has gold leafing that was a gift to me for Graduation, a run of the mill normal Shakespearean English, one translated using modern english, and a pocket bible given to me by one of the Great Uncles of mine. Was thinking of getting the Jewish one and a muslim one just for readings sake.

  • @sloththemighty The Complete Jewish Bible is pretty good, I hear. I have also heard good things about the ESV.

  • I have a children's illustrated bible I received as a gift for my first holy communion, it has a beautiful picture of Jesus on the front cover, I have my first Gideons New testament psalms and proverbs I was given on my first day of highschool, I also have a 1930 King James Bible which is gold gilt and over 50cm tall and 20cm thick given to me by my great aunt. I also have an Australian English bible and a few spare Gideon bibles I carry one me and hand out every so often to people who ask.

  • @timewarlord Cool Brett, thanks for sharing :-)

  • @VioletKitty411 My pleasure my friend, God bless :)

  • I just bought that same HCSB like a week ago!!! I really really like it very much.

  • @SisterSunshineTV It has a lot of great studies in it!

  • Lol Violet must not like the book of Malachi.

  • @fruitikay See...I thought it was her favorite...

  • I just bought me a NASB yesterday :o).. It was the only one I didn't have and now it's being "broke in" as my new everyday one..I dig it.. My first Bible was The Living too, and nope they don't have it anymore that I know of.. OH the HSCB.. I saw that one and was curious about it.. they are beautiful..

    Thanks for sharing sis.. :o)

  • @TheKathleenBean I really have always liked it...it took me a long while to get used to paragraphs since I learned with the NASB. I really need to get into this HCSB more...it has great illustrations. It was such a surprise to get it!

  • Cool, I think I have about 6 different bibles around lol.

  • @redbaron998 Yeah, red...I have others but I don't use them, really.

  • love this VK!!! Add it as a video reply to mine so I don't lose yours? :) LOL on your cat eating your Malachi tab. Thanks so much for sharing your Bibles with us. Love you!!

  • @bondservant40 It was fun to do...not that hard, I just had to sit down and do it!

  • Mmm... Malachi. Tasty : ) God bless!! Great video! Nice Bibles! (Also that's a very interesting Valentine's Day story).

  • @JesusPaid4You Kinda a real time example of living by the word of God...but the scripture does NOT go "Cat shall not live by treat alone..."

  • Been so long since you made a video, i thought something went terrible wrong with you *tears* anways GREAT VIDEO! god bless *like*

  • @kdash64 Thank you...actually I have had shingles for the last several weeks, and it's extremely painful. It's not as bad now.
