  • great work it looks awesome. Check out my yz 250 videos on my channel, i have the exact bike

  • @Moulton38CRF

    Thanks, nice bike:)

  • hi

Did you need any special tool?

    nice vid

  • @wernopurno

I used a flywheel puller to get the flywheel off and a standard puller to split the cases. I also used a freezer and heat for installing the crank bearings in the cases as they are a really tight fit. Other than that all the tools are standard.

  • @emerald310

    thank you

    wish me luck

  • quality mate.. how long did it take you ?

  • @yomrjt

Thanks, it took around three months just working in the evenings. Most of the time was spent trying to find the parts at a good price, once I found a new crank and cylinder the rest was easy.

  • great job

  • @qtrombley

    Thanks

  • @iiHaCkSsii

Thanks, the RM is a truly great bike as well.

  • beautiful bike

  • @gmanpeterson381

    Thanks

  • @emerald310 did you sandblast the engine and then powder coat it or did you not paint it at all? Great job by the way. What piston did you use?

  • @LAXman1496

Thanks. No I never sandblasted or powdercoated it, just used sandpaper and 3m brite pads. I painted it with base coat, clear coat and put in a Wiseco piston and rings. As well a new Wiseco crank and connecting rod.

  • i LOVE doing shit like this....

  • looks really good m8 well done, id love to have a go at something like this but ent got the money...

  • that was an awesome job.. and a massive inspiration for me to buy an old wreck to polish up :-) I had an old genesis 1000 in the same colour scheme. Retro look lol..

  • how or where did u get the grame painted? need to get mine painted

  • @gus122994

Painted it myself, used Lacquer paint. I would recommend powder coating your frame as it's much better and last a long time. Most paint shops will do it for a reasonable price if you can't do it yourself.

  • black frame ? no shit man thats horrible

  • sweet your bike looks kinda like my 98 yz250 but mine is hella dirty lol

  • nice i have a 92, how much did this cost in total, i want to do one next winter

  • Absolutely one of the best rebuilds i've seen! Well done. Nice color choice.

  • @dcc914

Thanks, was a lot of fun to do.

  • @emerald310 hey man so wat was wrong with it?? it looked really beat!! but great great rebuild man.

  • @98kawasakikx250 Thanks.

Was seized and hadnot been run for ten years. I took pitty on it and restored it for the owner. Basically any moving part was rebuilt or replaced with new parts if the old ones were beyond repair

  • Very nice. How do you remove the stain from the cylinder and engine side cover?

  • @Eljavillero

Thanks. I used an aluminum cleaner and 3m scotchbrite pads to clean all the aluminum parts. The cases were sprayed with silver base and clear coat on the outsides. The old cylinder was beyond repair, so was replaced with a new one.

  • did you spary your plastics or buy new ones?

  • @BRANDONCUEVA

New plastics, but tank is sprayed.

  • wow
