what are the ladies in the front pew doing with their hand in the beginning of the video?

ieatbruins4bfast, these women are crossing themselves with the holy sign of the cross - from their foreheads, navel, and each sholder. . . .this 'symbol' and action is to show respect to the hymns being sung and the priest who has come out to perform the great censing of the church for the 9th Ode.
