Our country is in trouble, our country America, the red the white and the blue. Everyone stop acting like your at a high school football game on friday night and realize we are not cheer for the home team to win we are trying to elect a president of the United States that will be strong for our country and lead us on a path to recovery and growth. If you are still putting your party before your country perhaps you need to look in the mirror.
I did not listen to the statement carefully. While its true Obama says he will meet WITHOUT preconditions, he substitutes preconditions with preparations. Obama's policy is not naive, rather it is yours for believing States like Iran, Syria, and the territory of Palestine can be isolated. The US has called for a global embargo of Cuba for almost 50 years, but Cuba still recieves imports of technology, goods, and people. Not talking to potential terrorist states gives them no reason to change.
Someone makes preparations before going to the supermarket...it is not a substitute. Iran, Syria, and the Palestinian territories are being isolated...the Iranian people are rationed on fuel due to serious shortages, since Iran has very limited refining capacity and imports gasoline. And what does Cuba have that is so great?? They are exporting more people than importing.
Talking to these states as equals, as Obama would do, gives them no reason to change, it only strengthens their position.
I like Obama but his foreign policy is a mess. The video is right, he seems clueless. "Preparation" is bull. You prepare for everything you do, you even 'prepare' for talks with allies.
In how many ways is meeting Iran without preconditions different to meeting Hamas without preconditions?
Obama's foreign policy actually seems to be the left-of-centre populist agenda. Fight Al-Qaida in Afghanistan but not in Iraq. Negotiate with Iran but not with Hezbollah or Hamas.
I find it difficult to dispute your argument until you compare Obama's policy with that of Chamberlain's. I find zero merit in your connection. What is Obama conceding to Ahmadinejad or Hamas by having those parties meet preconditions favorable to the United States and our allies before talks may occur? Obama is not appeasing, he is negotiating. Rule #1 in liberal diplomatic theory. It has worked well since the end of WWII.
You apparently didn't listen closely to Obama. He said he would meet with Iran WITHOUT preconditions. The video points out the inconsistency in his position. Iran and Hamas both hold the same aggressive stance against Israel and both employ terrorism, yet Obama claims that Hamas is the only one that must change in order for us to negotiate with them. That is why Obama is naive. A meeting with the US President would elevate Iran's stature precisely when the world is trying to isolate them.
wow what a redundancy

This clip just reminded me of something. Memorial Day is Monday and I'm heading down to the shore so I have to dig my flip flops out of storage.
