He's spot on about Switzerland and Norway; free trade and free movement of persons and capital, that's about all you need with your neighbors.
NO single currency. If the EU becomes the equivalent of NAFTA and NOTHING MORE, I'm all for it. If it becomes a new USSR which it's quickly becoming, that is a MAJOR problem.
Thank god Sweden and the UK still haven't joined the euro. I pray that they don't...
I can't understand how anyone would want us to be in the EU and the Euro, when the likes of Norway and Switzerland are doing just fine with a free trade agreement. There is no valid reason for paying billions of pounds a year to be dictated to by bureaucrats.
Hungary have now said they are joining. Maybe they should hold a referendum on whether to kick the UK out and that would keep all of the supporters of UKIP happy. Like the Lottery, you need to be in it to win it, or at least influence it.
Cameron like Farage is merely protecting the Banks because there would be more regulation. He has also done this for the xenophobes, a few back benchers, Daily Mail and Sun readers. Enjoy being an isolated Island in a major continent and you can thank Cameron for that. Farage is right about one thing - you are now a minority influentially. Should Scotland leave and go EU what will England do next? Don't think they'll keep trading with Britain on a fair basis, this is a dangerous decision.
@gshooting Exactly, the governments created the mess. They deregulated the banks, they also spent too much, and in the UK, New Labour hired a million public-sector non-jobs.
This crisis was engineered by the politicians. The UK was going to go into recession no matter what happened to the banking sector, the banks just tipped the UK into recession that bit sooner.
@liarpoliticians What I don't understand about the 'lack of regulation' argument is that if it's true, how come the only industries that seem to fail are the ones that are regulated and the ones that fail the most are the ones that are regulated the most?
Banks have never been deregulated as far as I know, my job is to actually make books on law and regulations for banks and employment etc. and the books only ever get bigger.
Haha Gatekeeper Farage, like Cameron, moves to protect the debtmongers in the city of london. Merkle and Sakozy should tell Cameron to take a hike!!
Should be clear to all by now that anyone who doesnt dance to the City of London corporation's tune doesnt get their voice heard. Trust none of these political sellouts.
@NeddLudd1811 Oh FFS, a tax on the City of London is just a tax on us all. You've got to be self-hating if you want England to bend over backwards for Europe.
I think Nigel shares the same opinion as most of us.. if they wanna blame us for the collapse of democracy killing treaty changes because they wouldn't bend an inch despite us bending a mile, then we don't care and it just strengthens the UK populations desire (and pressure on Cameron) to leave the EU.
France and Germany not wanting England to protect itself.. who'd have thought?
Farage is right again, nobody is as well equiped to talk about the eu as he is, let us just hope that Britain gets out of the eu and starts to stand on its own feet again asap, we don't need europe, never have done, politicians should'nt have been allowed to sign our Sovereignty away to Eurocrats, Prison sentences are what is needed now, Ask yourself why we are pumping £65 million per day of British Tax-Payers money into the EU when they refuse to even sign off the accounts for the last 18 years

Sarkozy is right on one thing; lack of banking regulations caused this mess...
BloodguardGorak 2 months ago 2
@BloodguardGorak No it wasn't. It was countries spending too much and producing too little that caused this mess. It was caused by the government.

@gshooting The city of london is a tax on us all. We need proper monetary reform and a move away from COL owned debt money.

@NeddLudd1811 What?! The City of London is the only reason we can spend beyond our means. Without them, we'd be insignificant.

Nigel is "The Man" ... standing up for common sense.
Well said.
A currency that "has to be rescued" .... is NOT a currency of the people, but serves only to keep the EUlite in their (too) highly paid jobs.
