  • can any1 plz tell me if i can play battlefield 3 on this card???

  • I have owned this card for the past year or so and it has been great but only when I overclock it does it really impress me, when you overclock this card from 800/100 to 900/1300 it runs 20%+ better so it can just about keep up with the 5850, now these cards can be found for so cheap, I have seen them do better then the 6850's.

I am going to add a second 5830 to my i7 1366 build.

  • u cant compare single cards and crossfire, noob!!

  • @NOGEARS YES I UPDATED AND GUES WHAT IT STILL SUCKS NOW HAVE A I 2500K @ 4.3 AND CORSAIR VENGEANCE @ 1720 mhz AND still sucks the 5670 SO SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • @DutchClubSounds I have a 5670. Did you know that I've ran every game I have on max settings, aside from skyrim? Even then it runs on high settings at 80 FPS.

Not bad for a £50 card.

  • what is better, two of this cards in crossfire, or a gtx560 ti???

  • @targ27 well a gtx 560ti is fairly newer but id assume the 5830 and 560ti would be about the same

  • pfft sttupid review

  • who is this fool, he doesnt seem to know jack shit about comparison, let hardware alone...

Ive been doing research on my 5830 as I was very interested and here is a VERY simple review:

    470gtx>5830>460gtx>5770

but this video is also outdated because you can pick up a 5830 for $110 at just about any online website like newegg

  • iam gonna buy the 5830xtreme edtition from sapphire but the thing is to large for my case.

and dont have money for other case and iam gonna cut metal out of it to fit the card

LOL whant this so much now have a crap HD5670 but only play at 1280x1024

  • @DutchClubSounds

Duh, try updating your computer specs to high end conponents and you will see that the HD 5670 works with pretty much every game available on high settings.

  • How come it supplys you with 2 4 pin to 6 pin converters but on the manual it says this is a bad connection adn xfx does not support it. So my card is not compatible with my power supply now great

  • lol you dont need a card that can run a game at near 300 fps, wtf?, human eyes can't notice much more than 60 FPS, therefore 60 FPS is a perfect speed for any game.

  • He say's a lot of things are low/mid end, when most people think they arent.

  • standard hd5770 vs hd5970 CF+OC in a benchmark ?! wtf?! what kind of comparison is that ??! even hd 5770 vs single standard clock hd5970 woul have been overkill , dude please do benchmarks with graphic cards in the same price and performance range for better comparison

  • @Filnizer only the cooling is different... xfx or saphire are both good but I like xfx more...sory for english I am croatian...

  • @Filnizer only the cooling is different sory for english I am croatian it isa a awesome card any way xfx or saphire...

  • These are going for £84 over here in the UK, im debating on getting one or would it be better to spend nearly double the price on a 5870? From reviews ive read of it everyone has been happy with this card, but of course the 5870 is a beast.

  • can anyone help im not too knowledgeable on changing components and im looking to change my graphics card to this one and i dont know if its going to make my computer unbalenced

is it RAM or is it power and coolling systems?

  • I own this card and love it.

  • does this support crossfire

  • @joebp91 yes

  • @Filnizer Maybe 5-10 bucks more, so yeah around the same price.

  • 1:49 XFX 5850 Black is better than ATI 5850 Crossfire. WTF

  • @VideoGameExplorers man, ATI deserves this: lolwut

  • mine doesnt look like that? lol

  • this card is like $130 on fucking ebay, really great deal

  • they made this card too freakishly long like 10 inches.

  • ok so i know that in these kind of video i would pretty much find an answer to this, does a bigger screen (24') reduce the fps in game than for example using a 17' screen?

  • @Diegohs7 Yes, if you run each game at the monitors max resoultion. If you run a 17" Monitor at 1440x900, and a 24" monitor at 1440x900, performance will be pretty much be the same.

  • @Filnizer Same gpu so probably

  • As we can suee?????????????????? WTF!!!!

  • @Filnizer Nowhere near...

This is brands, you can find info of it anywhere, google a few words and youll prolly be able to find a whole fucking ecyclopedia of it.

You cant just look up Filnizers dogs name.

  • @Filnizer Its jus a change in the brand who made them... Dude.. Are you really that dumb...? No offense, but really.

  • yeee yeee gtx295 = 15937, 5970 = 17631 ??? Who lie this peoples?

Untill now I've only bought only nvidia, but now I do boycott of nvidia until they fix their funny and false advertising strategy.

Personally, I've tried these two cards in games. 5970 reached double result !

  • HD 5770 with good OC, outperforms the HD 5830 costing 80-100$ less.

  • @Willd86 OC the 5830 then..could have a near performance of a stock 5850

  • This guys a good reviewer but any thing thats not a quad crossfire 5970 is low end

    :-P

  • Is that Bill Goldberg??

  • Holy fk....did he say $249? wow...the price sure dropped after only half a year O.o

6800 series is out already too...

  • hey can i run this card on windows xp ?

  • @AlbAPlayer09 Yep

  • This card is indeed the entry level of the HD 58** series. But it's middle- to highend!

  • hi I think about buying the graphicscard... can you give me some advice? I think about hd4870, hd4890, hd5770, and hd5830 I Will play new games with card. pls help me maybe you have some diffrent card to choose?

  • @darkspl you should wait for Radeon HD 6750 and 6770 to come out. They both are much more powerful than 5770 and the cheaper one is about the same price

  • @darkspl You can buy an nVidia GTX 460 too. Or wait for the new ATI 6000 series...

  • woooo i just bought this card.....except mine is the closed fan version( looks like the batmobile)

  • bull theres no way it only got 50 frames in arkum of aslyum my 5570 get 60-90 frames

    on high

  • @Filnizer yes, they are

  • Sorry, but these specs are wrong. I'm looking at my XFX 5830 right now, and it has memory clock of 1000 overclockable to 1300. Where are you getting 4000 from?

  • nice work bro ;D

  • oc the 5830 whit the new driver hafe olmost 5850 specs i love dis card :) i bay it for only 160 $ the 5850 is 250 $ dis cart is bang for buck!!!

  • Can someone tell me if the hd 5830 runs with 450w ?

  • @WillstDuNichtWissen should run but will reduce the life span f your PSU.

  • @WillstDuNichtWissen nope 600w

  • @WillstDuNichtWissen I don´t think so, because they say you will need at least 500W power supply. I got the same problem here.

  • Hi... might be a stupid question, but is this one better than the HD 5670?

  • @coochi6

LOL. You answered your own question.

  • @heflys20 How did I?

  • @coochi6

This card dominates the 5670. That's what you meant by "stupid question," right?

  • @heflys20 I guess so. Would this card be good for average gaming?

  • @coochi6

Yes. This or the GTX 460 768mb; which ever suits your fancy. A 5770 might even work for the average gaming rig.

  • @heflys20 Fantastic! :) Thank you for answering my questions

  • @coochi6

Many would say the GTX 460 768 is a better choice, but if you can find the 5830 significantly cheaper, grab it. Also, like I said, unless you're playing graphically demanding games, the 5770 is a good card for the lower end spectrum of the mid-range market. What are the full specs of the computer you're buying for?

  • Lol that dude looks like the dude on the Kane & Lynch advert on the side XD

  • @Filnizer they have different coolers

  • How can you say that the 5830 is an entry level 5 series card? You know there's a 5450, right?

  • @PrecociousPanda I have the 5450. Its not much of a gaming card. A very cheap card at that.

  • @Filnizer Well... yeah actually. The clock speeds are exactly the same. But there's one thing to note: the coolers are probably different. Perhaps one is better.

  • OHNOES! It came with the crappy cooler!

  • @Filnizer pretty much the only difference would either be th pcb or the cooler

  • is the HD 5830 1GB better then the GTX 460 1GB?????????????

  • I got the VTX 5830 :D

  • I think it's better to buy a GTX 460 than a 5830 because it's a bit better and a bit cheaper.

  • @WolvesDominationGR

Yeah, the 1gb version is better, but the 768mb is meh by comparison (particularly at higher res). And no, the 460 isn't cheaper. I just picked up a 5830 for $180.

  • @heflys20 $180??? Nice!

  • @WolvesDominationGR

Couldn't pass that up, particularly after Newegg, for whatever reason, decided to raise the prices of their 5830'. However, they're selling a MSI 5830 for $180 with a coupon code that expires tomorrow. Not a bad deal.

  • Low end/mid-range my ass. This thing is high end

Low-end is like saying the i7930 is low-end just b/c it's not an i7-980X extreme edition. This card is still badass compared to the PS3, 360, and 90% of all the PC configs in the world. It's like complaining about a NY strip steak because it's not Fillet Mignon.

Great review, though. It's really a matter of opinion. Now that this card is 200, it's a steal. Getting a $500 Radeon HD 5970 doesn't make much sense, since it will be obsolete in 2 yrs.

  • @Supersmashbrojory WTF... You think the graphics cards of PS3 and 360 are better than a 5830? If yes, then you 're wrong... Consoles suck!

  • @Supersmashbrojory lol ps3 is probably on par with current laptop mid/top graphics.... but yes this is a top end card lol

  • @Supersmashbrojory How things change.. It's actually running around 170$ just 2 months after you posted that comment :)

  • @Supersmashbrojory Low end in the HD 5800 Series

  • @Supersmashbrojory talk about it this thing overclocks to 5870 speeds by far the best gpu ive seen for overclocking.

  • @ImEatingRiCE -.-

  • Does anyone have this Card that plays World of Warcraft if so how much FPS do you usually get in like icc and such?

  • @wowbmxer129 dude wows graphics suck i suggest getting a ati radeon 5450 wich can run wow on max setting with about 25-30 fps

  • @wowbmxer129 lol for wow the old radeon x800 is enogh and you can play with 60k fps

  • Whats the difference between:

xfx radeon hd 5830, ati radeon hd 5830, his radeon 5830, Sapphire radeon 5830

  • @cvcgac different clock speeds and different sizes. Thats all really because ATI didn't make a reference design so it was up to the manufacture to make the case thingy.

  • @cvcgac there all different brands, so they have different features from the brans themselves so sapphire has vapor x cooling xfx has awsome xtreme cards so yeh

  • @Filnizer Yes, well, literally since some brands under or over clock their cards for better performance or quietness

  • i have a Compac Pressario (wich has a slimmed chassi) will this card fit?

  • lol...

  • @Filnizer yes

  • umm a little off topic but uh is crossfire 5850 better or a single black edition 5850

  • YESS

  • @altf4nubs blakc edition is the same as normal version, just better warranty and pre-overclocked.

  • @DarkZpartan9 Well... no, don't do it. It'll all be bottlenecking, since this is a high end card. BTW: What operating system are you running? If it's below 7, then this card is a waste, since operating systems below windows 7 do not support DirectX 11.

  • Is this better than 5770? Please respond

  • Comment removed

  • @jackpwnage117 Of course. This one has a 256 bit bus: twice as good as the 5770!

  • WHERE IS CRYSIS.

  • I got this card for 190euro gigabyte version and it doesnt work. I recieved a dead fucking crap motherfucking crap card. now I have to wait to send it back and get 1 that fucking works, I bet you know how i pissed I am.

  • Its not an entry level 5 series, its a med-upper end card......

  • Should I buy this card (Radeon HD 5830) or 2x Radeon HD 5670 (Crossfire)?

  • Nvidia needs to get into the game with budget cards too. I don't think there are any challengers from nvidia against ATi in 100-200 euros/bucks price range?

Not a fanboy! I pick what fulfills what i need at what price in the moment and twice it's just been ATi :p

  • Okay, So there is a 543 Difference between the 5830 and the 5850 , and a 2610 difference between the 5830 and the 5770. I think I'm going to go with the 5830 because its a good replacement for the 4890!!! and also comes with a Free Version of MW2. :-)

  • @GooberProductionz i find this card wierd. every time i google it, i get diffrent things. one site will say it is better than the 4890, others say it is much worse, namely, techspot says its good, while guru3d, tomshardware and anandtech all say its bad.but well, 3 agenst two, so..yeah. and if you can find it, the 4890 can be as low as 200$

  • Is this better of MSI R5770 Hawk?

  • anyone know or think there is gonna be a price drop on graphic cards or computer parts in general?

  • it would be a great card if it didnt use more power than a 5850.

  • Gay ass music put some slayer on or some old school metallica but badass video card anyway.

  • i cant stand the music

  • why do 5850 crossfires lose to one 5850?

  • @abusedbunny Black edition = OC

  • This can crossfire with a 5750 right? I just cant crossfire a different series? EX: a 4000 series and a 5000 series?

  • Bought one for 170 Euros

  • and thank you ! :) great review ! helped me alot to choose what graphic card i wanted . :)

  • I just installed this card and I cannot play games like Supreme commander 2, Rome Total War, Halo, Half Life 2, and C&C. I can just play Battlefield Bad Company 2 right now, how can I fix this?

  • @TheMastroAntonio Have you tried downloading and installing the latest drivers for your videocard?

  • @bartjoboy Yeah it just took them awhile to apply I guess, everything works just fine now.

  • @TheMastroAntonio

Man you fucked something up big time. This thing can play MW2 like around 57 FPS, and most modern games today.

  • @DannyGWarrior Yeah except I just stated above you that it's fixed and I played MW2 while it was free on Steam and it's not that bad of a game.

  • @TheMastroAntonio Well, with all the settings in CCC at stock, I get 91 fps all the time;)

  • @rubenflush I know the thing rapes Bad Company now.

  • wonder if this card is good enough for new games out out this year like crysis 2

  • I saw an open box version of this card at newegg for 189.99. Although I think it's sold out.

  • which one would be better, 5830 or 5850??

  • @Kaarle15

    5850

  • @Kaarle15 5850

  • Just ordered this card off tigerdirect for 240 and got $24 back thanks to bing.. I hope it can fit in my case... LOL!

  • He's not Bill Goldberg right?

  • getting this card XD looks im the first person to post gameplay vids

  • @iPhoneTuts Good work, I will be veiwing them.

  • i dont get it why they do not put 5870

  • Thanks 5/5

  • @kubuxx1551

dumb dumb it cant have 2GB of ram with 348 bit bus.

    Gi read a damn book

  • look how the GTX 295 gets pwned.

  • What? In a recent comparison test conducted by Nvidia (in which they compared a 5870 vs 480) the 480 was barely superior to the cheaper 5870. In fact, in another comparison test, which I just recently came across, the 5970 is shown slaughtering the 480. Here's the link (remove brackets and spaces):

    [.]overclock [.] net [/] attachments [/] graphics-cards-general [/]144542d1267750111-5970-vs-gtx-480-vs-5870-5970 [.] png

Now, please link me your evidence. -.-

  • You got a link? Cause the only comparison I've seen is the 480 vs the 5870. Please, show me a video where the 480 is getting 20 more FPS than the 5970.

  • i already said "the card which comes out latest is always better" and 20fps faster? i expected more than that...wad are the gtx480 specs?

  • @kubuxx1551 wad do u expect? the card who came out latest always pwn...and its not even out yet so hang on to your wallets

  • and the fricking 5830 is only a $250 card and is nearly equal to the gtx 285 which is a $350, nvidia is just too expensive.

  • and holy shit, the 5970 pawns the gtx 295 by a long shot, and that's a fucking bad ass card.

  • You mean loooooooong rite ?

  • im still pissed my xfx radeon 5850 didnt come with dirt 2 :(

  • Lmao. A 5830 is not an entry card. An entry card is a HD5450 or HD5570.

  • entry level is 5750 5770

youre a bit behind the times.

the 5400 and 5500 series dont and wont run much of anything that is recently out.

personally id rather save up an extra 60 dollars and buy the 5850 ...knowing atleast with that i wont have to crossfire for another 3 years or so.

  • @alextheromanian LOOOL!!! Me behind the times? Wow, such a bold statement. 5750 is a GAMING entry card, but it isn't an entry card by far. An entry card is a cheap alternative to onboard usually allowing for HD playback and to run game. By the way, have you ever watched a video of a HD4350 playing maxed out games. You'd be VERY surprised on how good these cheap cards really are. I have an HD4650 in my system and I am maxing just about everything.

  • the 4650 is a very good card for the money $50 on newegg, it'll play just about anything just not on a huge resolution, i'm just the type who likes the best(or almost the best)

  • lol i know right all of the 5XXX series is good for gaming but only at lower resolutions and/or games on lower settings.

  • I'm not sure how I feel about this thing. For one, it's huge, secondly, it, apparently, consumes more power than even the 5850 (according to most reviews.) Third, it cost's almost $100 more than the 5770, which it is closer to in performance (supposedly only 8-10% better). I'd probably just save up and get the 5850, it's only $40-50 more, and the difference is noticeable; or, I could wait and see if the price changes.

  • @heflys20 in sweden, this card is 2000kr and the 5850 is 3500kr... :S

  • @

    enyceckk1011 not even close

  • wonder if two gtx 295 can beat 5970 crossfire

  • hell no

  • GTX295 1.7 GB x 2 DDR3

    5970 2 GB x2 DDR5

    5970 owns nvidia

  • video memory doesn't matter .. it's the gpu core speed that matters

  • since when i said gpu core dosnt matter? if u look properly , nvidia had ddr3 memory (2000mghz+) but ati had ddr5 memory (4000mghz+) 295 core speed is just around 480mghz x 2 (if i remembered properly) and 5970 core clock had around 750mghz x2?

  • True, but he should at least benchmark two GTX295 in SLI. I just want to see the score. =P

    P.S: i'm not a fan boy!! I own 4 ATI cards and 1 Nivida (2600xt, 9600pro, two 4890, and 1 8800gt)

  • im aint any either...i owned GTS250 and 8600GT..and im not satisfied

  • Your mad...rite ? gtx 295 already is a double GPU'd card and if u SLI it omg ? Quad-sli wtf ?

  • "mad" ? about what? I just think it's interesting to see =)

  • lol sorry xD

But if you try iy your PC might blow up and you body parts will get dissassembled ..

  • hahaha

  • The older 4890 performs better, costs less, but doesn't support eyefinity and dx11.
