  • sand isnt bad unless your feeding them in there. sand is fine if you are moving them to another enlcosure to feed

  • Lol mine does the tail waggy thingy right before she bites onto a superworm 8). If the tail wagging is dominance than what the heck is she doin that to her food for lol?!?!

  • superworms are bad for leopard geckos it can later cause dietary problems or blocking of the digestion system.

i work in a reptile pet store thats how i know

  • Well, she is a LEOPARD gecko! She's very beautiful.

  • wow what a healthy fat tail . i dont feel like saying congradz because of the sand tho

  • @aryankhorram they can still accidentally eat the sand when they miss their food.

  • @awesomepeople100 i agree with u but on carpet this one time mine broke its jaw cuz it got caught on the carpet

  • @MISTAlanky18 yeah, i use carpet, but I place paper towels over it so the mouth wont get caught.

  • my leopard gecko stays i his moist hide all day and recently shed his skin what is he doing

  • he' probably trying to let you know that its to hot in the enclosure and to lower the temp or he may it was him just geting ready to shed hope i helped

  • he' probably trying to let you know that its to hot in the enclosure and to lower the temp or he may it was him just geting ready to shed hope i helped

  • i find the word frisky awsome!!!!!!!!!! but sweet vid

  • @aryankhorram and there are people out there who know that the plural for "gecko" doesn't have an apostrophe and would rather not take the risk, therefore avoiding sand.

  • the other gecko sees the one with the wagging tail coming towards and looking at her inside her head shes like oh shit here she comes act calm *takes a sip of water*

  • It looks like the leo by the water thing is pretty skinny, the other one might be taking his food..you might want to feed them in seperate tanks..and get the sand out of there, get reptile carpet.

  • I watched another vid and it said they usually move/wag there tail if they like what they see

  • @GeorgeModz lmao their both females

  • is means it is ln love with the other gecko and one day or one minuter thier going to mate

  • if you knew anything about leopard geckos then you would know shes not "playing". shaking there tails shows dominance over the other which means you should separate them because it leads to fights. i know from experience, ive kept them for 14 years now. sand DOES cause impaction, because captive bred leopards dont know any better because they didnt grow up in afghanistan. ive had 3 leopards die of impaction out of the couple hundred ive had. dont keep reptiles if you know nothing about them

  • Its a regenerated tail?? i want to know cuz my leopard gecko has lost his tail and im sad because he loves to do that like yours..

  • Is this full grown?

  • CUTE um but i don't mean to be rude or anything but u rilly shouldn't have sand in there it can hurt or kill ur geckos T-T just thou id point that out otherwise cute geckos XD

  • @LILE676 Totally uncorrect, if he wanted to mate it would have been a whipping QUICKLY back and forth onto the substrate. Air waving the tail is a clear sign of dominance, its not really considered good if you house 2 leopard geckos together and one of them is doing it to the other all the time. It can stress the dominated gecko and in worst case scenario make it stop eating etc.

  • My gecko does that and hes only 3 months old! HE loves to do that.

  • xD she wants to breed thats why she thinks the other female was a male.

  • Sand can cause impaction but it can be used with adult leos... which these r so i would say there fine

  • @Egm712 is sand ok for BTS? and also wat is impaction?

  • @MaltezaPleazaa BTS? im not sure.... impaction is where the they swallow the sand ( for example if your gecko is trying to eat a meal worm and while he trys to grab it he gets a mouthfull of sand and swallows it, then the sand will build in his body and he will eventually die) .

Thats why its best to use reptile carpet or something that can not be swallowed!

im not familair wit the term BTS?

  • @Egm712 it means Blue tongue skink

  • thats what mine does to

  • now that i noticed, did the gecko's tail fall off and regenerate or is it just like that?

  • Thats adorable hehe its wagging its tail mwahaha so cute!!!!!!!!!! Im getting a leopard gecko in a few days, i hope i get the chance to see its tail wag and get it on video XD

  • btw, sand is bad, it will cause impaction

  • @awesomepeople100 only if they eat it

  • @awesomepeople100 Correction , it CAN cause impaction. There is Sand in their natural habitat , Mostly rocks and clay but there is sand !

  • @OffshoreMetal that sand is digestible.

  • @awesomepeople100 Im not saying sand is bad, Just saying that people are too stressed by the risk of impaction when leopard gecko comes from a place that there is sand. I have mine on sand and never had any problems at all. Leopard geckos will eat sand in big quantities only if they are not well cared for.

  • @OffshoreMetal i agree 100% i have had my male for 9 years in sand and no problems...

  • @awesomepeople100 no its not. at all. dont believe labels.

  • @awesomepeople100 i feel that you can house geckos on sand but, i wouldn't do it because the fact of impaction is there but, to avoid it i recommend that you put a dish of calcium powder if you plan on using sand. nvm just put in anyways. it will help.

  • @awesomepeople100 no its not

  • @sailor5687 yeah, i was wrong. i guess i misread the thingy i read. but they do live in the desert but not in the sandy area. they stay away from it and live in more rocky areas.

  • @awesomepeople100

I keep two geckos on sand; a tokay and a leopard. I've never had any problems with it. They both eat crickets and I watch them nip them from the sand; neither one of them seems to consume any sand with the crickets. I use play sand, maybe that's better than other sand, Idk...

  • @awesomepeople100 um so we should take them all out of the SANDY DESERTS of afgahnistan? im thinking sand is the least of my worries.

  • @MrTank116 -_- didnt u read wat i just said? they live in parts where there is not much sand, but mostly rocks.

  • @MrTank116 here is a picture of where they live

  • @MrTank116 crap, it wont let me put the link, anyway, just type in afghanistan desert on google images its the third one to the right.

  • only some sorts. like ground up walnut shells are what i have and they act as sand.... plus they are digestable :D

  • @awesomepeople100 only for baby and juvie geckos

  • @j2r2b no, the sand can still build up in their stomachs...

  • @awesomepeople100

    Shut the fuck up.

I am sick and tired of hearing about sand being bad. As I say on my channel sand is no problem unless your Gecko is mentally impaired and licking it up. As long as you don't feed your gecko in the tank it is fine.

  • Comment removed

  • @HerpJamie cool, thanks for restating what i just said.

its bad if your gecko eats the sand WHEN YOU FEED THEM.

but taking your gecko out everytime you feed them gets tedious, so i think its better not to have sand.

  • @awesomepeople100 No she is old enough to live on sand!!! but you DONT want to be baby leo's on it

  • when they do that, that means that they are telling your other gecko that that place is their territory. basically what skinsfantyler1 said.

  • how did you get her tail so fat? it almost so fat it looks regenerated

  • great looking geckos!

  • Fat tail = healthy gecko

  • Yeah my geckos wer doing that before getting in to fights :P

  • she was showing a sign of dominance to your other gecko

  • it depends how much calcium she has

  • @crosby8737 30 gal long at the least 40 gal breeder would be what i recomend for 2

  • dont put any male geckos together. they will fight to the death. even if the tank is big.

  • OMG EXTREM FAT GECKO

  • i love your set up! and geckos are very entertaining. i got vids up of mine if ya wanna check em out

  • no.....it actually means they want to mate

  • yeah they do that before mating, but it's also showing a sign of dominance to others.

  • 1) u put the calcium on the crickets bcos its healthy 4 the geck

  • hye..i just want to ask something about leopard gecko..

    1) actually what is the function of calcium..is it for leopard gecko or cricket and how to use it??

    2) im gonna use exo terra faunarium PT2310..

3)how to control the temperature coz my room temp will decrease at night aroun 24-27 celsius.. and how many eggs will leo gecko produced

hope u can help me and have a nice dayy....

    best regards,

  • The calcium is actually for the bones of the gecko, so it's definitly best to either leave it in a dish in the tank, or better yet, dust your crickets with it so then they get the calcium for sure

and the temp can go to 24-27 with no problem at night, i keep mine at room temp, which happens to be 27 during the day, and it goes down to 20 at night, and they do fine

  • they lay 8-16 eggs

  • not two??coz mostly i watch the vid it 2 eggs??

  • I miss my L Gecko.

Isnt it just amazing when the hunt their food?

  • they also do it when hunting

  • it looks like your leopard gecko is a bit overweight. how much do you feed it?

  • yea my male does that all the time when he see's the female

  • hey idemon.... you can get them to mate if you first compare their sizes so their about the same size as each other... then take some bedding from ur white gecko and rub it on the female... then rub the famales bedding on the male so they both smell the other gecko as another gecko from their own species...then u will get the most cool loockin babys ever... send me a picture when they come out....lol

  • lol kk you got it and thanks Skil.

  • Hello i have a white striped gecko if i put a female leopard gecko with him would they mate?

if u have a answer please message me.

  • no they'll end up fighting

  • wow ive seen my female leo do that but really fast right before catching a cricket..and i noticed that your leo's tail fell off..thats cool that they can styll sway them side to side even with their new tails..nice vid

  • i like your water bowl :)

  • AND by the looks of it.............. you aint getten eny babies eny time soon

  • YA whan a male finds a female atractive the male will sway its tale and if the female likes what it sees shell sway her tale. and after that you might get some grandchildren

  • my leo has a tail just like urs

  • My Guess is one of your geckos is male because thats a mating call usually the male gecko waves its tail and if the female likes what she sees she waves back and you can probably guess from there

  • lol cool gecko

  • REGENERATED TAIL?

  • your gay

  • Yeah, I think that she was going to attack, like she felt threatened. My two did that when I first introduced them through seperate tanks. Something might have distracted her, though. Anyway, it is kind of cute seeing as neither of them got hurt.

  • priceless

  • my gecko Yoshi dose that when i hold him sometimes.

  • My gecko only wags his tail while he uses the bathroom. Yours are so fat 'n cute!

  • very funny, i think one thing is that you are feeding your gecko to much because the tail is very fat. that is not the reason for the tail moving back and forth. i think the reason is you gecko might feel i little threatened. try to feed it about 5-8 crickets a day anything over is to much. thanks for the video upload

  • how much did you buy yours for?

  • when i got mine, her tail had alreadyfallen off so it has like a smooth bulge. lol

  • very cute, very very cute.

    loving it...

watched the video response and the description said that your gecko must feel threatened by the other gecko, idk if this is correct.. ill watch my geckos n see.

    still cute..

on a side note, i was waiting for the gecko in THIS video, to act the other female.. her body language made me think of that.

anywho, super cute, she's a really pretty gecko.

    <33

  • lol my geckos do that too but hardly at all. They did it once and thats it.

  • hehe thats so cute! im going to get a cupple of geckos in like 2 weeks were going to breed them

  • geckos tails are so funny, wen mine hunt the wriggle about non stop!!

  • lol i just got a new baby leopard gecko :P hes cuteeeeeeeee

  • they sometimes do that when there hungry

    or im wrong

  • Thank for posting this lol, absolutely hysterical, but I would like to know what happened to the other leopard gecko, the one eating at the dish. : /

  • Bennayboi01, you probably shouldn't make comments on videos if your just preaching how you think your right. You probably have not ever had an impacted gecko from using sand, but you are just getting your information from stupid care sheets, or gecko forums. I'm not saying that there isn't a risk of impaction with keeping a gecko on sand, but it is highly unlikely that it will happen if the gecko is eating mealworms/crickets from a dish.

  • did that leo get its tail cut off?

    mine looks EXACTLY like yours..

    no joke.

    same pattern and everything.

yours is just a little bigger than mine though.

  • Looks like it has a regenerated tail I have one with a regenerated tail the tail looks the same, if they lose them they grow back bigger and wont look like the original. My male does his tail the same why when I disturb him or he is startled.

  • yeah, i know what they are, mine got his chopped off a long time ago when my cousin decided to play with poor Mr.P while i was asleep.

    =[

    poor Mr.P

  • Its always good to have a sense of humor about animal abuse. Those geckos are very poorly cared for.

  • oh shut up about the sand already, bowel impaction is only likely in young or subadult geckos. If they're so poorly cared for why is that one attempting to mate?

  • Hes probably trying to kill the other one, not mate with it. The "hunting" one has a regrown tail, theyre both skinny and the darkness in the drinking one is a sign of off tempatures. And theyre using sand that kills geckos. There are autopsy and x ray pictures of adult dead geckos who died from sand impaction.

  • I've bred Leopard Geckos for 8 years and I've always kept them on sand. I have never had any of my geckos die from impaction. Providing a dish of mineral supplements and calcium will prevent a gecko from eating sand on purpose, the amount accidentally ingested while feeding is inconsequential. In my opinion bowel impaction from sand is a behavioral problem that is easily corrected. Also, neither animal is underweight, and the one in the corner is a different color variation.

  • 90% of people who use sand do not know enough to care for their leos properly like you may. That is not a chocolate tangerine in the corner. Its damn near black. If it were naturally that color it would be worth several thousand dollars. I disagree with you on the weight. For adults, theyre both on the skinny side. If you think leos hunting eachother, risking impaction and being underfed is quality care, i feel sorry for all of your animals.

  • dont be such a vagine

  • that's mating behavior

  • Nice gecko but you may want to get it off the loose substrate.

  • thats wat mine did

  • I kind of expected her to pounce on her cagemate with that tailswish. o_o

  • my gecko is still young but he/she (i don't know yet because its too small) hissed at me and whenever i touch him/her,he/her runs away

  • my female used to do that i dont no if she still does but when i touched it she kept going lol

  • if you want to mate with my lepord gkeo I live in Michigan writ me back!

  • my does tat really quickly before it strickes at crickets

  • Thats not playing, its a threat.

    A dominance action

  • never keep males together unless you want a blood bath

  • i had that hapin before i got a male and i wuntid to get a female but i mustakind another male fof a female is was a blood batle the biger male won the one the won was 12.5 inch/wat 1 pond

  • I've heard that they are marking their territory when they wag their tail.

  • is that normal? its hypmotizing. lol

  • you dont need to buy it if you live in Minagin. i can brag my male and thaey can mate.

  • the funny thing is that the other one is like "............ what the fuck?"

  • Be careful because that is a territory issue, with the tail wagging. They do that when they hunt and when they are upset.

  • Oh, sorry I mean "anything else, only hunting" not "anything, only hunting"

  • It is hunting! My leopard gecko does the same thing always when he is hunting. I am sure - that can't be anything, only hunting.

  • and agression

  • My gecko does like that sometimes too =P

  • Mine does that in fast motion before catching its prey. I'll upload it.

Btw my leo is about 2 years is it okay to have it on sand? I have only 1 female, should I buy another female or maybe a male?

If I buy male, would they mate very often? If they do, how do I incubate the eggs without an incubator? omg some1 reply plzz!

  • It is ok to have her on sand. You could have done it when she turned a year old. But I would by a female. I'm going to get another female. You can't incubate eggs without an incubator fcor they have less chances of surviving. Also a male won,t mate to much with the female. Only in season. Your welcome.

  • whisper123voodo your an idiot they can be put on sand

  • you need to buy two or more becouse if you have just one it's just so sad

  • she does have another one

  • That's a stupid idea, keeping 2 males in the same enclosure causes territorial dispute. Females have been known to fight each other too. Also, keeping more means having to keep an eye on if they are both eating properly. They are fine kept alone, their social standing isn't that to humans

  • oh damn girl shes feelin frisky like a ninja

  • i wish mine hadnt lost part of its tail today :(

get better soon galaxy i love ya <3

  • i thout only the males do the

  • Aww cute Gecko. I might be getting one soon :D

  • I use like small pieces of like bark , is that ok ? they have lived with it , ith the breeder i bought them from in 11 years so ? btw nice gecko ! mine does that to .

  • sand=death

    don't use it with them!

  • when they do that, that sometimes means when to other one if it attcks it can drop its tail real fast. sometimes my lepard gecko does that and it goes in a circle.

  • if the gecko des this it means she wants to fight

  • beautiful leos you got there. im thinking about getting one(or two) myself. what are the chance that they will start fight each other if i get two females? or should i get one male only? (asking for advice is always good :P)

  • Mine shake his tail like a rattlesnake and then eats a cricket.

  • My gecko does that when he eats, right before attack :P

  • My leopard geckos do it before eating a cricket or mealworm. Its especially cute when 1 month old Blizzard does it :)

  • haha my gecko did that once

  • so cute :)

my leo does that to me all the time when ever i feed her.

i don't know if its good or bad but i take it as being funny lol

  • somone suggest a big terrarium for a family of leos how much $ do u think?

  • is that a high yellow morph?

  • no just a young one i think

  • its a normal

  • That might be slight agression. When I introduced my females they did that and then started to squable a little thier fine now. But I think that's mostly just a leopard gecko thing lol.

  • lol my leo's do that sometimes its cute!

  • That tail movemant is a sexual behavior. I would consider getting your geckos tested to identify their gender. I have a male and a femal and they do that tail movement before mating.

  • lesbo lizard lol =)

  • its not an aggression thing, if you notice the tail is upright, when they are hunting the tail is flat with the floor. what your gecko is doing is asserting its dominance. i would guess its a male? when a male sees another gecko it does that with his tail, and if the other gecko does it back then he knows its another male and will attack, if the other gecko does not do it back then he will know it is either a female or that he is the dominant male.

  • my leopard gecko does the same thing but shakesit like 10x faster

  • I have a year old leopard gecko.. mine is in a 20L tank and he wags his tail if he see's his reflection thinking that it's another gecko... I added black paper to the back and sides of his tank to make him feel more secure and hopefully help with reflections, he hasn't done it that i've seen since

  • The tail movement is aggression. My gecko does the same thing when she's about to nail a cricket or worm. I would separate those two if I were you...

  • how cute

  • lol it doesnt just look liek a leopard it acts like one too =D

  • lmfao, its cute.

  • She lost her tail at one time didn't she? I can tell because I have a female that lost hers as well.

  • My boyfriends' leo waves her tail the last few seconds before she darts for a cricket :)

  • yeait funny when they do that

  • yea dude i read online and it siad if one leo were to start shaking its tail and it was a male and the other gecko in the cage was also a male then the other leo could start doing the same thing n they might fight if the other leo doesn't shake its tail then u can relax hope there doin fine

  • they both are female...

  • tht would make sense but yea i didn't listen to the audio first time around

  • thats cute, mine used to do it too, but only i was around :/, check out my vid of my gecko close up and eating a cricket

  • thats extremely AGRESIVE BEHAVIOR be carefull......
