  • has anyone tried this? i need to do something like this for data recovery purposes....and i am desperate!

  • @Gmuk80 it works 1000%, BUT you need the exsactly same HHD Board.

  • millet eşşek mi?

  • Were is the part the hdd is smashed

  • Wheres the part when I go on ebay and order a new one?

  • @killersushi99 How fucking retarded is it possible to get? That is just so incredibly irrelevant.

  • this does not work guys... the hard drive PCB is PER DRIVE SPECIFIC. doesnt matter if its the same model. all hard drives contain their own specific set of whats called PDL (Primary Defects List). A list of sectors that were inherently defective upon creation. you change that board and the drive is no longer calibrated. it will not work. even of it does, you run the risk of damaging the hard drive even more. you should be soldering a new component such as that burnt one with the spare.

  • why do i have to transfer the conducter tape, cant i just use the old conducter tape?

  • Okay. this video is educative enough as a guide but how are my going to be getting stock of a particular laptop hard drive model.

Moreover,I need a list and guide of software that can be used after a system has been formatted.

    Thanks.

  • its cheaper and more stable to replace the drive with a brand new one rather than swap pcb, but this trick here is awsome for data recovery

  • @reply4reply no amount of PCB swapping will work. case and point, i've already tried it and it failed on any new drive. this trick works with older drives where the calibration data is stored on the platters themselves. but with the condensing of data, there is no more room for the calibration data on the platters, so they place it on the PCB.

  • what about HD of desktop? can it be repaired?
