How durable is the pack that the DVR slides into? I take a lot of slides into bunkers, and I'd hate to break the DVR.

The pack is just a standard cloth waist pack, and will do little to protect the recorder if you fall/slide on it. If you plan on sliding and being on your belly a lot, you should probably strap the pack to your back, above your pods, and run the camera cable down your back as well. If you want something more durable you can always take a small tupperware box to put the recorder in.

You're right, I do mount it on the side of the mask. Usually on or by the goggle band. I like your solution, actually. My problem is that I wear the visor, so I don't have a good way to visor AND cam at the same time. But I like that solution, I may try it sometime.
