  • japanese people have jewish aids go die in a hole

  • Why is it off tune? William Tell overture is public domain, so it's not like they had to change it to meet copyright requirement. Did they not test this first?

  • I live near there

  • I've been there it's pretty cool

  • I can't decide what's a bigger fail. The fact that this is blatantly not the tune or the fact that they applauded at the end of it.

  • why would they go through all of the trouble of making this road if they didn't even make it play the correct notes?

  • Who cares if the song is flat! I went on the road for the first time in a couple of years and it was tons of fun! As far as I know, it is the only musical road in the U.S. and that is pretty cool!

  • @pinkinmybrain *went on the road today for the first time in a couple of years

  • They were likely ticked it was not in tune.

the should not have used a banjo player. They spend half their time tuning and the other half playing an out of tune instrument

  • Where is Lancaster? California? I would like to go one day

  • @mac4rmfresno they paved over this road because the neighbors were getting too annoyed of hearing the song all day and night.

  • @Anthonyk312 The road was paved over but a new musical road was built on Ave. G. I was there today.

  • I was on the musical road today. AMAZING!!

  • Its in lancaster i passed by that yesturday ;)

  • what the fuck was that???

  • FUCK YOU HONDA CIVIC

  • which ad agency(s) were involved in this?

  • Before everyone gets their thong in a bunch over tunes and beats etc. check out the Civic Project (V1-6) and see how much time we invested @ hyundais` test track to get this thing as humanly possible to the real thing... Thank you in advance for your time.

  • lancaster babay!

  • Wow, my mom drove over this road, and she made it sound the complete same. She must have been going the same exact speed.

  • Honda claimed the idea as their own but copied it from a much better example executed in Japan at least one year before.

  • who cares about the tune, either way its awesome, i want one down here in florida....

  • I want to go there and do that with my civic!!!

  • It was paved over but now you can visit it in Lancaster, Ca on ave G between 30th and 40th st W in the left lane!

  • it was paved over :-(

  • What is the speed to go over it? I recently drove over it at around 55mph and it was way out of tune

  • what's the song name?

  • William Tell Overture.

  • @coffeeandsugar20 amazing you caught that, cheers, but yea wayyyy out of tune

  • americans dont consider japanese cars. coz a 4cylinder can smoke their beloved v8! straights and curves. respect for the muscles but theres nothing they can do. fuck all disagreed

  • yea right put your rice burner up with my 5.0 ill fucking kill you

  • @weed4smoker20 That's just plain mean. Shove a pine cone up your ass and stop bein a blatant musclehead

  • how is that just mean?

  • @weed4smoker20

American cars + racing = drag racing

Japanese cars + racing = drift racing.

with that said, Drag racing = no skill whereas drift racing = requires skill and can burn a pos muscle car anyday.

  • pshhh ok drag racing = no skill?try rullin a car down the track in 9 secs with out blowin your motor ..or try building you car from the ground up

  • i dift my 90 town car? um its american?

  • @mikedeenfer did i say u cant drift an american car? i just said its a pos. if u try drifting an american car with a japanese car, japanese cars will burn american cars. power isnt everything when it comes to drift racing and america is all about drag racing.

  • @StupidGuhji i no power isnt everything.

and no you didnt say that. my bad. and i believe most cars if sent up for drifting can be just as good as japanese car. but in the end its the driver. i know everyone knows it but im just saying. i love drag racing. and drifting. both take skill. yes drifting may take more but its not fair to say drag racing takes none.

  • @StupidGuhji But people drift in Dodge Vipers and Chargers. If it's RWD you can drift with it.

  • @BruckThatsMe umm...i never said you cant drift with RWD. but thanks for telling me something i already know

  • @StupidGuhji Yeah, I was just saying you could drift with a muscle car (Dodge Viper) as well.

  • You are all missing the point here. This is WAY off-tune.

  • and they had to be going at least 70 to get it to sound like that lol

  • You should know, that even companys like Toyota have car factories in US. So this are American cars too ;-)

  • No not really there not american cars because even though the plant is in the united states dont mean we get the money when ever some idiot buys one. that money gose straight to japan. the honda, toyota head quarters.

  • Uhhh .. I thought the people who work there are US citizens and get some dollars for there work, but maybe I am wrong ;-)

  • well your right and wrong there because some people working in those plants could be illegal imigrants. But the legal citizens of the united states that work there do get paid for there labor at those plants but as i was saying before the profit from the sales of a U.S. assembled Honda, Toyota, ext go to the main head quarters in japan.

  • @onlycommercials And in turn they use there income to buy products in there american towns.

  • @onlycommercials They still aren't american cars

  • @carpediem24lal They are earth cars... trolololol

  • @Americanmusclefan there cars manufactured here are creating jobs and also create tax dollars. The manufacturer only takes the profit and either pay it out to investors or reinvest it in other ventures.

American manufacturers do the same thing.

In that respect, you should only buy your gasoline from an oil company witch only drills in the US and only produces to the US market.... Your logic is faulty.

Buying american lowers the standard and customers get lower quality product,

  • @Americanmusclefan oh ho man hehe he told you.....

  • @Americanmusclefan How do you think plants get setup in the US? What? You think the US just opens it's doors to foreign companies and say "Here you go take our land for YOUR profit!" No they don't do that. The people employed at the plants are american citizens, the plants themselves have to pay US taxation, even the COMPANIES themselves have to pay US taxes! I bet you didn't even know that not only car companies but most foreign companies have a head office in their occupied countries.

  • @Americanmusclefan Yes, you are correct, I am currently in the Automotive supplyier busniess, I am the Global Steering division, and no matter where the facility is, the money goes back to the main plant,(Which is Japan, mostly in Osaka) Because even though I supply the States and Europe, my Purchase order's come from Japan, all Financial business is at the main facility.

  • Perhaps if America could build more reliable vehicles, that my change...

  • Perhaps if you people like you knew what they were talking about we wouldn't be having this issue right now. you cant get any thing more relialbe then a classic american car. i've always had great luck with the reliabilty of american cars. I have never had a jap car last over 130,000 miles. the last american car i had i sold with 310,000 miles on it never been rebuilt. and yes it was a chevy lumina with the 3.1L V6.

  • How can you say that I don't know what I am talking about? First, are saying Chevy's & Fords are more reliable than a BMW? LMAO! Second, why are you comparing 1960's muscle cars to "Jap" cars? Thats like saying the Saturn V is better than a space shuttle. If you have to bring back stuff from 40+ years ago, that alone shows your arguement lacks substance. I will agree American Muscle cars are the best because ease of repair and reliabilty. In the PRESENT, imports are better autos all around.

  • I am sure we probably both agree that EVERY car company makes lemons. The fact you had bad luck from an import or two does not carry a valid argument. Time after time the consumer report claims that the imports are better as well. You have to look at it on a big scale and not a small personal scale. If you had 100 Chevy Malibu's vs. 100 VW Jetta's and people drove them with care for 150,000 miles and replaced the essentials like oil, etc. the repair bills would be MUCH higher than the imports.

  • very very true the thing that i have a problem with is buying the import don't help our econmy out it helps japans or germanys econ out we need to worry about our econ to say i dont like any import would be a lie i like vws dont like the beatle i like subuarus and dont like handas with your previous areguement with the ageing classic american cars and the newer cars i think there all about the same but i try to buy american because that helps our economy out more then it dose if you buy a import

  • Lastly, I know that many foreign car makers have plant's here in North America/US. It doesn't matter which machines build the cars, it's the engineering of the car is what makes them different.

  • yeah thats the truth who knows what a truly American Built car is any more. I mean Honda has us plants and the old body style camaro was assembled in canada so who knows what amrican car really means. To me though its more of a love for my country thing because if i pruchase a GM Ford or Chrysler product i know the money is going back into our econmy not the people who own mercadies or Bmw or honda or toyoda. that is why i try to buy american. dont get me wrong i like german cars but i'd buy us

  • American car companies suck! they all have shit vehicles!

  • @ShadowHnt3r AMEN

  • @Americanmusclefan YA! SUREEE! Fuck That Im Buying A Honda! Haha " American Cars Are Just As Reliable" Ya SUREEE! Thats Why My Cousin Had To Take His New Equinox For Repair 3 Times Already! 3 Times! My Bros 1997 Civic Has Not Bin In For Any Repair At All! AND It Has Over 200,000 Miles On It! So Get The Facts Pussy You Dont Know What You Talking About!

  • @Americanmusclefan Honda, VW, Toyota and a host of other excellent cars are built right here.

Our fuel efficiency and performance don't match the same model cars in Europe because we legislate inadequacies in there. Some European Diesels will dust off most North American cars in their class at about 60 Miles Per Imperial (REAL) gallon.

Check out the hybrid VW Polo for fuel efficiency.

North American car history needed a shake up, it was stale!

  • @Americanmusclefan

you are a ignorant ass. Nuff Said

  • @Americanmusclefan

Ignorance at its best. Ive owned Domestic. not impressed. I own a honda, best investment ever

  • @Americanmusclefan your an idiot

  • @Americanmusclefan also, have you seen the prices of american cars???? absolutely ridiculous.

  • @Americanmusclefan lol your the biggest retard ever. dodge is terrible. GM is terrible. ford is pretty much the only american brand that is reliable. get your head out of your ass and see that GM, ford, chrysler all have factories OUTSIDE the US. just because it has GM or FORD on the badge doesnt mean MADE IN AMERICA.

  • this is fake..

  • no its not its actualy a road in Landcaster CA

  • whats the name of the song?

  • William Tell Overture

  • The add is not about being fun, or exciting to drive a civic. It is about Honda's ability for such fine, perfect engineering. Honda is so fucking good it can make your road sing!

  • i guess the point of the commercial is that the civic is so boring, you have to drive on musical roads to have any kind of fun.

  • lame

  • it's the truth, i have no idea why anybody would buy a civic over a fun-to drive subaru imprezza. i mean, sure, hondas are reliable, but subarus aren't exactly falling apart, are they?

  • fuel economy. Subarus are shit when it comes to fuel economy.

  • i'd sacrifice one or two mpg (which is what you're sacrificing between an imprezza and a civic) for a better car.

  • Yea its a pretty piss poor commercial. I expect nothing less from bland old Honda. BORING

  • After living in Lancaster, CA for almost 20 years, it was fun to get the opportunity to drive on this road. It was suggested that these grooves should be put on other roads in Lancaster since there is so much land. It was a riot to watch people drive down the road and then they would make a U turn and once again drive down the road. I had heard the road on Avenue K had been paved over and they put grooves on Avenue G!

  • still cool

  • its too slow

  • It sounded cool :]

  • Do you know what the name of the song is?

  • No! I know I know it, just not sure what x.x

  • it's william tell overture

  • who cares if it doesnt sound perfict you try tuninga a rude to make it play a song

  • why are they cheering? it sounds so wrong

  • Biggest waist of time and energy I've ever seen in a car commercial!!

What the hell does this have to do with anything!

  • how does this represent the car? or show its quality? lol

  • i went on this! haha

    so cooool

  • they should have done this with a cooler car

  • honda nsx?

  • Is this really possible?

  • yes, have you never been on a ruble strip before? Change the size of the grooves and you change the pitch. Most highways use large grooves for a heavy rattle to wake people up.

  • Comment removed

  • *rumble strip

    Aluciel286 good eye lol

  • great scott!!!

  • "Yeah! It worked!"

It doesn't sound like the William Tell Overture like it should. It has all the wrong intervals, and the rhythm at the end is messed up.

  • i wanna see you carve something like that in a road and have it sound perfect, it's cool regardless.

  • i agree

  • That's a fallacy.

  • i was so excited to hear it... but its like... the wron key and... not exactly right. But is still cool.

  • Exactly!

  • smart commercial:]

  • careful dont get to excited there Doc Brown

  • All that work and they didn't even have the tune right? Come on, Honda.

  • in order to get the tune right you had to go 88 mph well over the speed limit

  • 1.21 gigawatts!!!!

  • ITS JIGAWATTS! GET IT RIGHT!

  • Actually, increasing the speed would only transpose the key, it would not affect the intervals (which are wrong in this video). Honda made an error in calculating the spacing between grooves. They attempted to "fix" their error by using sound editing software to correct the last two pitches of the melody (you can tell when you compare the commercial with other videos posted of the musical road), but they oddly neglected the rest of the melody.

  • William Tell Overture is the name of the song (Lone Ranger theme song). The city (i think paved over it) because people that live next to the road were bitching that they couldn't get the song out of their heads.

  • does anyone know the name to this song?

  • This road was paved over and doesn't exist any more. Thank goodness, because the melody came out wrong.

  • haha im goin to that road

  • people that lived nxt to it complained it dont exist anymore

  • Awsome

  • That is so cool!!! Is that road open to public?

  • Yes.

  • it was but people that lived next to it complained and i thnk it has been paved over

  • It was paved over on 23 September due to nearby residents complaining to the city council about noise levels; but after further complaints from city residents about its removal, work began to recreate it on 15 October 2008 on Avenue G between 30th Street West and 40th Street West, two miles away from the nearest residence. It opened two days later
