@dalestaner11 yes freshwater fish is a better way to start like with tropical fish and stuff and once your used to it you can upgrade it to salt water fish or something but fresh water is a much easier start

Very Nice on the PVC pipes, not natural but an awesome & rare great addition, Local river or creek rocks would be much better than coral. Great filtration, oxygen & tank size. Healthy looking fish. Better Malawi owner than most.

they best way to reduce cichlid aggression is to overstock. As long as this tank is over filtered with weekly water changes, the fish will be completely healthy and happy

This looks like my old fish tank, i want to set one up again now.. Mine had a whole underground section though, half the tank was water down to the bottom of the tank, the other half was water til about 1/4 the way down the tank, and under that was a cool netweork of tunnels and caverns i made with big rocks, you could see in them and some of the fish really liked it. was a pain in the ass to clean tho! was also only a 35gallon

when you crowd them together competition for turf is impossible, and if there is a conflict, it is generally dissolved lost in all the other cichlids

it's better to have a rather crowded tank, rather than an under-crowded one

Everyone needs to calm down...overstocking is fine this tank is fat and africans don't grow that big, in the wild there are so many fish, look it up, cichlid's in there natural habitat.....the biggest fear is not enough filtration...that's why you over filter and do water changes weekly. People need to shut the fuck up and worry about there own tank, it's one thing if the tank was dirty are the fish sickly, they are all healthy and everyone hating is stupid
