The guy is anti-goverment and from the videos he posted on his youtube account I'm guessing he's obssessive-paranoid. There was also talk that there was a second suspect involved.
Giffords was shot in the head, but it was through and through. Last I heard, doctors were optimistic about her recovery, but I haven't had a chance to check up on it. And kudos to those who put themselves at risk to stop the guy before the shooting escalated any further.
As far as this worthless coward goes the death penalty is to easy for trash like him. I think the idea of using old brutal toture methods on him til he dies slowly in pain one day is a much better way to go. Fuck the pc bullshit this guy and people like him need to be treated in the worst possible manner.
There are people crying that guns should be banned but thats just not logical. If someone wants to kill somebody else they will find away take away the gun they use a knife, take away the knife they use a bat, take away the bat they use their fist and feet. The shooter was mentally ill, a schizophrenic. The only positive lesson we can get from this sad episode is that people should wait until the facts are in, then one can make Youtube videos or write essays or get up on a soapbox down at the park. Yup, and stabbings went up massively. Again, bad people do bad things. There's no reason we can't try, but certain things like outright restriction of guns do NOT work. It's people that need to change, not the law.

The gunman has been named as Jared Loughner. He's a local resident. Giving him the death penatly would be too good for him, he should be forced to suffer the pain he put through the victims familys.
The good news is that doctors say they're optimistic about Gabrielle's recovery.

Why do people think depriving other fellow human beings a future is right. It's just horrible, and unnecessary and should never happen. One of the people murdered was a 9 year old girl with her whole life ahead of her.
The gunman has been named as Jared Loughner. He's a local resident. Giving him the death penatly would be too good for him, he should be forced to suffer the pain he put through the victims familys.
The good news is that doctors say they're optimistic about Gabrielle's recovery.
