  • They aren't trying to compete with the Who. He SAID at the start, they LOVED that music, that band, and that era. It is an honor to pay their tribute to the best rock band ever :)

Thanks, RUSH, i am with you!

  • haha! Neil looks almost bored

  • @mechjoeman sure he is knowing he can't cover Moon for fuck.

  • Alex playing an SG, Awesome:)

  • That f****** rocks, RUSH I'll call you the Seeker!!

  • The 8 pricks that disliked this video should have their ass hairs removed individually.

  • very good cover

  • They (Rush) are amazing musicians, but nothing compares to Roger Daltrey singing this song. It's not a question of being a technically good singer... BTW, Geddy Lee's voice... "raise my voice in anger"?

  • Great to know classic rock was the building blocks and foundations to the great rock and roll there is today.

  • How can 8 idiots dislike this? Faggot bieber fans probably

  • @lnghrndude02 You know, the only two options aren't Rush or Justin Bieber. Most people probably don't like a British 60's mod band AND a late 70's-and-on prog rock band.

  • @rpsmith014

True dat, lots of people nowadays like indie music and think it is somehow superior to Rush or The Who

  • @SuicidalMarsbar Some indie music is good, but when it's all people listen to then they're just trying to seem like "intellectuals".

  • @lnghrndude02 Worse. Faggot Nickelback fans.

  • they did this better than the WHO lol RUSH IS EPIC THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!

  • Love Rush. I'm the geek fan who even thinks Signals is their best album ever.

But what is with Alex singing back up? They have him on mute, and any backup vocals are prerecorded and are Geddy.

It's just embarrassing, guys, will you please stop?

  • Rush is the only band that could do this song justice. Rock on guys!

  • I think Neil was intimidated by Keith, he was so lazy here

  • @AcSouza1973 I kinda doubt that, maybe less is more? I love Keith & Neil's style & playing, but, i kinda think Mr. Moon was a little busy sometimes. If I could talk the jack-offs in my band to cover this, my style would follow closer to neil's. Just my $0.02.

  • OMG!I love The Beatles, The Who, Rush, led zeppelin, and I love this cover!

  • I love Thunderfingers, but Geddy makes him look like a child!!!! It's about time that folks realize that Ged is the best rock and roll bass player of all time!!!!

  • @filterNebulous geddy is one of the best ,along with ,steve harris and billy sheehan ,they all have style and sound.

  • holy shit.

one of my favorite bands covering a song by my favorite band..why wasn't i there?

    :(

  • The Who and Rush should do a crazy world tour to end all world tours

  • cara mto ruim

  • Rush cagou a musica, istrumental ta bacana o vocal tá caipira

    Rush d-e-f-e-c-a-t-e in this song

  • @TheDaleno Don't make me laugh...

  • amazing rendition of The Seeker! Rush you got it right! Thank you for posting!

  • john entwistle or geddy lee?

i think geddy lee is awesome but entwistle has got to be the best

  • Comment removed

  • im sorry but Geddy Lee has found the High

  • AWASOME !

  • Alex is tearing it up!

  • they did that song suprising well

  • thumbs up

  • As a Huge Who fan, and an even bigger Rush fan, This Kicks So Much Ass!

  • Chills down my entire body, from begining to end. Rush is the shit.

  • Fucking Balls to the wall version.!!! AWESOME..Rush makes my country and myself proud to be a musician and Canadian !

  • Neil must of hd a blast doing this. and his drums sound amazing

  • @astrella Actually, I think the drums sound quite pedestrian compared to Keith Moon's.

  • @Galericulus ooo Neil's drums live sound really cool, unfortunately I've never seen or heard Keith Moon's

  • @astrella Then I suggest you listen to "The Who - The Seeker (Vinyl)" uploaded by Vinyl Central. And if you want to see a drummer really injecting magic into the music of the group, watch any video of The Who performing, for instance, "I Can See for Miles" or "My Generation". Unlike most groups of their time, who placed the drummer at the back of the stage, Keith was given pride of place at the front, where his unorthodox but mesmeric style was highlighted. Please explore and enjoy his work

  • @Galericulus I agree, but neil did a good job capturing the vibe of the song. Moon"s style was one of a kind.

  • Keith Moon is Neal's favorite drummer.

  • Delicious!

  • Alex is toten the lumber on this one. The testosterone spritzing off his neck.

  • To be honest I don't think that anyone sould say that Rush or The Who is better than the other. The Who was Rough and Tough, played with tons of emotion and pulled out all the stops. Rush plays with a ton of musical talent, and wrote more "orchestral" songs with more effects. They are both tremendous bands, but in very different ways... Just my thoughts on that.

  • he looks like bono

  • @danne9501 What?!?!? I honestly don't think bono looks like anyone in this band.

  • @solonz1 Are you saying kieth moon is better than neil peart? If you are than you must be on crack.

  • @asl1095 Its not so much that one drummer is better than the other. Mooney good go off on one and only the Ox could bring him back to the song. but he could do things that no other drummer on the planet could do. And they still cant. And I don't mean that other drummers knew what he was doing but couldn't duplicate it. They didn't even know how he was doing what he did. And they still don't.

    Peace.

  • NEIL PERT SUCKS JOHN BONHAM ATE HIM ALIVE

  • @714Danny1 You know this isnt even a Rush song.

  • @714Danny1 Search yyz and click on the video that has a read thumbnail..then you can tell me about john bonham

  • Entiwstle considered the Jimmy Hendrix of bass guitar, Keith Moon, considered the coolest, charismatic, maniac on a drum kit of all time..Daltrey, the most masculine, howling singer ever. Listen to Eddy Vedder and anyone else that tries to cover Daltrey's voice when they cover the Who's "Love Reign O'er Me", and it PALES in comparison...

  • Simply better than the Who could've ever done...

  • @Blitzt1974 Whaaat? You can't be serious... the drummer sucks, compared to Moon...

  • @KirkHammett131290

Moon does do the best version, but i don't know what's more insulting, referring to god as "The Drummer", or how you say he sucks.

  • @KirkHammett131290

how dare you say neil peart sucks

  • @H3r3Com3sTh3Sun Read the whole comment. It's my opinion, that Keith Moon is better. I like Moons style...It is more raw and with more feeling and less technique. But thats a matter of taste i guess

  • @Blitzt1974 thats not necessarily true, there is nothing like the original, but they did do an awesome cover.

  • @Blitzt1974

woah woah woah, that's going to far man

  • @Blitzt1974

    Not really

  • LOL!! You are clueless chief... Rush was cool when I was in 6th grade...I left them there when I started graduating to better, COOLER, GUY'S music like the Who. Getty Lee sounds like a homo singing this song compared to Daltrey... The Who are the TRUE godfathers of Punk Rock, and anti establishment music. Rush, Ingvae Malmsteen, and every other stupid ass that are the BEST "technique" musicians should be TEACHERS of music.

  • @solonz1 You are a faggot. Rush is one of the most influential bands to walk the face of the Earth

  • @Blitzt1974 Please...Before you shoot off your mouth next time, RESEARCH and actually LISTEN to the Who's albums in their entirety, especially LIVE, and THEN you can comment...Until then, put a lid on it JUNIOR...

  • @solonz1 LOL.... no need to get emotional, ma'am.

  • Hell yeah alex lifesons rockin the SG :D

  • simply fucking amazing, one of the best covers of a who song.

  • 6 people couldnt find what they were seeking!

  • wow!!! is there anything they cant do.

  • So so great.

  • almost shat my pants at 1:04

  • OMG Alex background vocals!

  • @crazyguitarkid77 so what? I heard his back vocals on One Little Victory too.

  • im really digging this cover. that solo was explosive.

  • Class stuff! But somehow I couldn't see The Who returning the compliment by playing a Rush song. I don't think many could :)

  • Die hard Who fan here, this is pretty good! Respect!

  • If it wasn't for Rush, heaven knows where I'd be these days :)

  • im am guessing people press the dislike button just to try to piss us RUSH fans off but thats not gonna work ;)

  • @shizokiller nope we don't care wut people say. I've been a RUSH fan since 1977 (yeah a helluva long time ago) and nothing anyone says can deter my unabashed fandom.

  • 30 YRS AGO THE WHO AND RUSH WERE 2 OF THE BEST BANDS ON EARTH.THEY STILL ARE THE WHO& RUSH FOREVER.THANX

  • ALEX ROCKIN THE SG

  • Alex is totally getting into the intro, looks like he is enjoying himself. He and Geddy at the front of the stage during the solo is killer. Freaking awesome band!!!!!

  • Alex's backup vocals are spot on.

  • @guitarguy940

Good ear. His and Geddy's guitar work really well, and Neil's pocket is right there.

I'll probably catch shit for this but I've been a fan since the early 70's. In other words "Oh well" : Believe, me I love Geedy's voice as a general rule, but could do without his upper register on this particular tune.

  • gotta love rush, eh?

  • Well, if I can give my opinion though I'll probably get hate for this ^^; I prefer Rush's version of The Seeker to the Original by The Who because not only I find Geddy more Animated* AND I prefer his voice to Daltrey's one, Neil also sound to me, better than Moon. As for Alex and Townshend, they both play this song very well Peace, friends C:

  • @YetAnotherMovie89 me too

  • WTF?

    this is an homosexual singing?

well i like more THE WHO is best

  • @Denner22265 dude what are u even saying?

  • watch?v=ZaPZZ2_sPzM

  • Wow, Rush covering one of the best English Rock bands.. DOUBLE WIN! Yes, I'm both a huge, huge Rush fan, and a huge, huge fan of The Who.

  • esa version esta muy homosexual...

  • @juan13579run youre muy homosexual...

  • @juan13579run Me das pena, juzgas a alguien por voz aguda, es RUSH !! seguro que nunca has oido de esa banda maldito ignorante.

  • I agree. This IS badass. Awesome song. Awesome version.

  • I like both bands a lot so double win!

  • this is BADASS!!!!!!

  • chills from begining to end...man is Rush a tight band!

  • Brilliant!! Awsome to see Alex breaking out the Gibson SG !! Love it

  • Whoa.

  • 3:47 nice killswitch... why alex dont use it so much?

  • @ProduccionesFleko i think its just the pickup switch.

  • @TheGonzaloDiaz he silenced 1 pickup, right?

  • @ProduccionesFleko sounds like it. prob had the volume turned up for the bridge pickup and way lower for the neck pickup.

  • killer.thanx

  • Another Canuck who's a huge Who fan .This is as mentioned a very well done rendition, done with much respect. Also this is done with some vim and vigor, Rush have a different kind of vibe than the Who but you can see the links, between the two especially in the rhythm section.

  • The Agnosticism national anthem!!!!

  • How does he sing that high?!

  • @CLaptonIsGod3324.........chill out....The Backstreet Boys have reunited.......

All Is Good........In your Kock-sucking world...........

1Stellar Band , paying Full On Respect , to another Stellar Band............

2 Bands That Will NEVER Be Duplicated.....

  • I can't wait to see them

  • Perfect, rush, rush, rush...

  • awesome

  • Thumbs up if you got goosebumps at 1:04!

  • @MorTOOLBass ARE YOU SERIOUS!? I HAD GOOSEBUMPS THROUGH THE WHOLE THING!!

  • Feedback was OK but they didnt play anything by the Kitty Girls.

    Kitty Girls are so awesome

  • As an ENORMOUS Who fan all I can say is thank you for this, Rush. This is a wonderful homage to a great band offered up by another great band. Neal Peart often said The Who inspired him to write music (and the Moon drum fill influence is clearly there). This is an excellent version of this tune. Great job from three of my favorite musicians from the Great White North...eh?

  • @Shafeone Neil

  • @Shafeone Thanks for the Canadian props ! We're pretty fond of our boys up here too. !

  • @Hyigor1996 very eloquently stated. im going to guess you are like 14? and @GiovaniB52, you are right, im not a fan, but his voice did make him millions, so i have to give him props

  • @CLaptonIsGod3324 I think you're to be pittied. You react with hostility and vitriol to anyone who doesn't share or at least express your exact opinions about Eric Claptons place in rock music. Admiring Lifeson's guirtar work isn't an attack on EC no matter what you think.

Please go get a life. there should be more to your existence than treadcrapping on people who celebrate good music.

  • They certainly can play The Who's songs better than the who now.

  • @Koolkitties Agreed only because two of the original Who members have passed, and Daltrey lost his high register. After all he is in his 60s, I saw them in the mid 70s ,and they brought the roof down.

  • Rush = Sex.

  • geddy lee has quite possibly the most annoying voice in the history of music

  • @CLaptonIsGod3324 Well that annoying voice that you say he has ,gave him fame and fortune and it works perfect for Rush, and we don't find it annoying at all. Clearly your not a Rush fan.

  • @CLaptonIsGod3324 U SUCK IDIOT!

  • @CLaptonIsGod3324 Haha, that coming from an Eric Clapton fan!! Incredible! Eric Clapton's monotone drawl could be a cure for insomnia...and don't even start going on about his supposed 'virtuosity' as a guitarist. Let's just say that for all the guitarists considered the best, he's the one who most lacks flair and flamboyancy.

  • I wish the actual rush recording was on youtube..... It has awesome quality! But this is pretty good quality too! What type of camera recorded this?

  • he is cross between in irish folk singer and a nerd

  • erm......why do the have washing machines on stage ?

  • @paulthepill why not

  • @aidenrule45 ....just asking ?

  • @paulthepill Because they can. Enough said.

  • @paulthepill to wash the shirts!

  • I can dig the cover but the vocals just quite do it for me.

  • Rush is awesome; I love Rush and most all of their songs....but unless you haven't listened to The Who singing this; you'll know that The Who totally beats this cover of The Seeker

I do like how Getty Lee clerified that they didn't do the song however

  • @NyxChild it's the Who's song, Of course they're gonna be favored. Nice pointless comment.

  • sad

  • tommy is the greatest album ever made! asshat

  • Alex looks like John Daly, the golfer. I REALLY don't like Daly, sorry to his fans, but Alex is great, really underrated, but no wonder, Geddy and Neil are beasts.

  • Arguing online is like running in the special olympics. If you win you're still retarted.

  • LOL!

  • @AASKICKBUTT Retarted ?

  • Oh, So Why I love this band! Could have blown the WHO away, but humbly plaid this song true to the WHO's version!

  • @fiddlestyx3006 Um, maybe they would of blown thwe 2010 Who away, but there is NO WAY Rush could even touch the 1970 Who live.

  • I think Geddy should have used a more aggressive tone to his voice.

  • Geddy's bass has an Ox-like resonance to it. Great cover.

  • Peart respect the original version. He is a huge fan of Moon.

  • Better than the Horrible WHO, LOL ! Of course it don't take much to out play Pete Townshend.

  • @EarlShoes1

    I hope your joking.

  • @scartissue94 no, the Who (should of died before they got old. Keith did and John was relatively old) is over player and over rated. My opinion of course . Most Pop Culture, Music etc is craptastic. I won't worship this stuff like your average brainwashed sheeple would.

  • @EarlShoes1

What the fuck? You're wishing death upon people them now? The Who isn't even overrated at all! Sure their stuff is played on CSI, but not much else. They're a better band than Rush.

  • @scartissue94 BETTER BAND ?,Yes, the WHO barely beats Rush in a homely contest . Early Who is interesting. But anything from Tommy on , PUKE !! As players, the Bass, John, and Drums, Keith, over played while Pete strums some Chords and the fumbles on the lead breaks. He smashes his guitars out of frustration of f'n up. Explosions, windmills and Guitar smashing, That's was the WHo LIVEGimmicks, and the Who at least admits it in some of their interviews. As Roger said "the HORRIBLE WHO " .

  • @EarlShoes1

You can't be anymore wrong. Who cares what Roger says, he said that when he was feuding with Pete. The Who was one of the first bands to really rock hard!

  • @EarlShoes1 You clearly do not like music then, you say john and keith were overplayed, they were the best of the best, you say anything after 'tommy' is ''puke'' then you haven't heard whos next or quadrophenia then, i like rush but nothing they've done lives up the what the who did, rush wouldn't exist without the who, led zep and so on.

  • @warmadscot I'm an old timer who had Who's Next on 8 track , By numbers on Vinyl and Live at Leeds on cassette. The Kids are Alright on vhs. I am so sick of Baba O'reilly (I'd rather listen to Boris the Spider) and later WHO played on the radio. Click, unless I want a headache. Just tired of it. I like all kinds of music but won't worship these so-called rock gods. Voicing MY opinion on the internet is fun.

  • @EarlShoes1 I would suggest a music appreciation course at your local community college. Thw who never bore me, they have endless talent captured live, like Johnny Winter

  • @warmadscot Rush took the influence from the who and zep and made it into a brand new form of music...they are basically one of the 3 bands that brought prog out of the underground...their innovations to the genre are endless.

  • @EarlShoes1 Your opinion is worth it's weight in manure. Now I leave to escape Geddy's screeching/singing.

  • @ttraynor1 LOL, a pile of WHO !

  • Hmm my favorite who song coved by rush well its not bad at all but the solo kinda let me down but o well its a cover am I right!

  • It's always cool to see what influenced a band. Thanks for this video!

  • Geddy Lee's voice is too good for this song, but anyways, rush have lots of albums and i think they got tired, so they doin some covers....and its pretty cool

  • Yes a good cover, but of course Geddy Lee's voice doesn't have the same resonance as Roger Daltry's

  • This is great- but honestly how the fuck did "politics" get onto this video. And I use the term politics loosely, you slack jawed nationalistic thugs :|
