I really like this, it's great. A couple of things though - it starts off a little strong, and keeps a fairly static dynamic. I would really love to hear this idea fleshed out over several pieces. You might have already done this, though, I don't know.

They did actually, and he was going to do the soundtrack, however he declined it and instead wanted to work on the online predecessor, FFXIV.

This games soundtrack was brilliant though, despite it not being made by Uematsu, and this is from someone who has bought every OST CD Uematsu has ever published.

Like I was saying, Nobuo uses climax points like that in almost all of his works for final fantasy and they can be really effective and simple.

So all in all a great work but not quite Mr Uematsu yet, keep it up, keep composing!

The atmosphere. While this piece has a great atmospheric feel to it, perfect for a final fantasy, it doesn't change. At all. No offense but you get a bit bored because there never seems to be anything new, ever thought of putting in a middle section?

Let up on the reverb/pedal, its a bit overused.

Also to do with the continuity mentioned above, it should have a "climax point", the moment that the piece has been building up to, this could be a restatement of a theme or just a high lyrical melody.

Not a bad effort, it has a nice feel, but there are things you should work on with pieces like this. And before anyone has a go at me for this, I am a music student who has had three pieces publicly performed and professionally recorded.

The bassline. Its nice that the bass provides the harmonic basis for the suspensions in the "lead" part but for the vast majority of the piece its just arpeggios and nothing else, try to vary it a little to get flavour.

Why would you downplay yourself and tie this to Final Fantasy? It's not like they'd ever take your work and use it in their games. You should copyright this, throw it up on iTunes and try to get signed and call it your own original work. Its nice that you were inspired by FF but it deserves more

This piece, out of all of your FFXIII creations, feels the most complete and full of feeling to me.
