Well my situation was, we met here in the States, but then he got his mba, and had to go back to his home country of Croatia. So we were in a 7 month long distance relationship, and I ended up moving over there.
LDRs are very difficult, and you need to keep up daily communication.
I have met friends from other countries that i first met online.. but i wait a minimum of a year before meeting them, and a lot of online chatting and communication.
Long Distance relationships are very hard to maintain. I personally think they are a huge waste of time. I have had a few friends that were in long distance relationships for a long time and they definitely did not end well. 2 of them got cheated on. One of the guys was even engaged. Even if the relationship starts off being in person, i think temptations are too hard for most people to resist...
