  • @eurodollarpeso - Tainos were not wiped out their culture was. that's why recent dna test show that puerto ricans are more white and indian than black. and the people that live in the mountains of pr are the white jibaros. but Loiza is a beautiful town in pr.

  • When I was little every time i went through Loiza with my dad it would scare the crap out of me. lol

  • @eurodollarpeso yes, PR should love there african ancestry. They way you posted your comment, you make it seem as if they should forget about there tru root witch is native taino. No, not all tainos were wipe out. ive seen alot of native lookin PR, have you seen miguel cotto mom? she looks 100% native..so i respectfully disagree, there is youtube vid around here were they did genetic testing were there was still significant native blood in PR...

Algun dia te volvera a ver.

Me gustaria aprender mas.

  • has anyone seen this vid from the beginning?

  • THE BIRTH OF REGGAETON!!!! DIOS BENDIGA A LOS AFRO-BORICUAS Y A TODO PUERTORRO!!!! VAYA!

  • @LoneCuetlachtli Thank you lol

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. Those drummers are great musicians. Their rhythm is so fine.

  • I am really white puertorrican (jincha), and like all boricua I can't just stand when I hear this music. People from other places can't understand how blended we all are, and that we don't see color as a part of our culture. I have family from Venezuala and even for them it's kinda hard beacause they still see themselves like "my family are from Spain or my ancestors are Italian", And they kinda get ofended when I tell them I'm sorry but you look Venezualan to me.

  • to deny our african roots is to deny our identity.puerto ricans are and always have been a melting pot.spaniards,africans,tainos.africans have contributed so much to our culture.food, music religion and even our spanish language has been influenced by the africans.i'm a proud mulato.even thou my skin is white but in my veins runs deep the blood of europeans, indians and africans.when i hear the drums i have to dance, its like something clicks inside of me.so much that i became a percusonist.

SOY BORICUA !!

  • me encanta Loiza & sus raices.... SOY BORICUA !!

  • Most my Puerto Rican family is black, but this stupid because we are all Puerto Rican!! Puerto Rican Pride!! Puerto Rican Independence!!

  • @ConcepcionPR Why is this stupid for people or Puerto Ricans to have Afrodiasporic pride?

  • @chsn09 No man Im proud of our African roots. Im more proud of our African roots than alot of Puerto Ricans are, our ancestries came from Congo Africa. I know. But African culture that we brought over isn't exactly like Congo Africa or West Slave Africa's culture anymore. It changed and formed a new Identity, Puerto Rican culture, even though it roots from Africa, its unique to Puerto Rico.

  • @ConcepcionPR most of you ancestors are Yoruba and igbo from Nigeria. and then a lesser amount are Bantu from Congo.

  • Oh my goodness we should all worry about our mortality the day that we died the day that we face the judge of God but the devil seems to be the one been praised lately on this world

Me haces mucho falta Puerto Rico. Siempre te tengo en mi corazon.

  • everytime i watch these afro videos, i get goosebumps b/c of the beauty they embody. but when i read the comments i am dissapointed b/c of stupid people who r either haters, or have more pride than knowledge about their culture. some know nothing but think they know something. others know something but think they know everything. b proud but humble, n haters, pls keep ur remarks 2urself. appreciate the video u just saw! thanx salsero79 4posting this beautifull video:)

  • @BD76ERS I too get goosebumps, you almost just wanna get up and dance too

  • Viva mi cultura & mi Loiza! ;)

  • They look like they're having the time of their lives, and that's what life should be about, having enjoyment.

  • ALL you retards shutup dam half of younhave never been to PR. Stop saying your indian cuz ur not most puerto ricans are mixed black and white and thats the fact, very few natives or ative blood carried on. Dont believe it go to PR and see, only place ive been to where they had a whole isle in walgreens dedicated to hair relaxers wtf

  • iVIVA PUERTO RICO Y SU BUENA MUSICA!

  • donde puedo conseguir el documental completo?

  • cabrones hablen espanol

  • what the people are talking about the taino race its easy talk about others but talk about u i still have my skin and hair like the taino and i am proud of it what i am not proud is 4 the people who came to their land and kill them and took their place i have taino in my blood in my mind and my soul

  • some are still pure ni some are still pure.... como desconocen de nuestra historia puertorrique~na...! como bien han escrito aqui todos somos una mezcla de razas aparte de las 3 q dominaron este pais.... acaso es puro el blanco de ojos azules con su nariz ancha y el pelo grueso o rizo? que algunos segun el estudio de ADN q hicieron hace unos a~nos atras y con sus ideologias han querido conservar el ADN taino son otros 20, tendran facciones indigenas pero no seran 100% puros...

  • everybody in puerto rico is mixed there is no pure

  • Liar ! There are some people who are pure !!! The only ones who are most likely not pure are Taino/Arawak Indians- they mixed with some well many of the Spaniards and Africans.

The only groups of people which are pure, not all but some are pure White/Spanish and some are pure black/African.

  • @chsn09

What the HELL are you talking about? Everyone is mixed. That's what makes us Puerto Rican. Some may look more "negritos" (in PR that's not a bad word" than others but NOBODY is pure!"

  • @NahimasVids

What the HELL ARE U Talking about? Um, I never said that everyone is pure. I was saying that there are some who are pure African/black and some are pure white/European/Spanish.

Native Americans are mixed into much of the general (mulatto/mestizo/mixed race) Puerto Rican population !

  • I know people who live in Puerto Rico who are only 3rd or 4th generation Puerto Rican who are pure, they haven't been in Puerto Rico 400 years to mix and mingle like the spaniards, africans and tainos did originally...and they aren't any "less" puerto rican just cause they are 3rd generation...once again, "puerto rican" is a nationality....whoever is born in PR is a puerto rican, there's areas where you'll see pure chinese people who were born in PR as well as their parents and grandparents.

  • crei que era el monoloro

  • Its hilarious how some PRs believe that their island is exempt from race classifications and racism. In PR there are people of all racial backgrounds and racism does exist there just like anywhere else, get over it.

  • Its amazes me how people like you want to put a group of millions of people in a category where they are all made to appear as if they are the same. If you want call yourself a mestizo, so be it and be happy with it, but don't misrepresent everyone who may not see it as the way you do. Remember, not everyone has the same family history as you, even under the same island. People have gone there at different time periods and from different places to make such as brash claim that everyone is alike.

  • wtf...what is wrong with whitie? long live the puerto rican race..we are 3 races..learn them...

  • More than just 3 races, we all know about the Spanish, African and Taino, we learn that in school, but what books rarely mention is the fact that we also had thousands of immigrants from China, India, France and plenty Syrians...and they all mixed with the 3 races you speak of, creating a universe of ethnicities in our little island...so not all Puerto Ricans have just the "3 races" and "Puerto Rican" is a nationality, not a race...we say "la raza boricua" but in reality, its "las razas". MANY.

  • all peurto ricans are not mixed with spanish, black and taino.

  • some are still pure

  • Did I say there weren't any? But people always talk about how Puerto Ricans are a mix of "3 races" but they completely forget about the thousands of immigrants from all parts of the world that settled in Puerto Rico...read my comment properly before replying because I think you missed the whole point I was making.

  • We are in 2009 and you think there will be a 'pure blood' white in Puerto Rico, like being born here 'pure blood' white? NO WAY. So, every single person living in Puerto Rico the whole life, with the exception of those who have RECENTLY move from other countries, are HALF BLOODED (mestizos).

  • My mom taught me something really important at home: If you don't know something about a topic just shut up, it's better look ignorant for a moment than an idiot for the whole life.

  • You should be the first one not to talk about being ignorant. If you are a Puerto Rican, then you should know that there were many white Puerto Ricans that purposely only married with whites, some even went to the extremes of marrying their white cousins. Just ask a few PRs about this if you don't know. SECONDLY, recent white settlers and their children are as much of a Puerto Rican as YOU! THIRDLY, WTF is supposed to be a half blood? Their are different degrees of mixture in PR, not just half.

  • I will say that no is pure anything in this world, everyone has a common ancestor. But being 10% Native American 90% White doesn't make you a mestizo. Sorry pal, but there are white Americans with more Native American ancestry than that. You are mostly white, than you are just that, a white person. There is no other way around it.

  • For your information: AFTER 20 YEARS THE SPANIARDS TOOK THE ISLAND THERE WEREN'T AMERINDIANS (THE RIGHT NAME TO CALL 'TAINOS') IN PUERTO RICO; BECAUSE THEY SEND SOME TO SPAIN, AND OTHER COLONIES AROUND THE CARIBBEAN OR THEY ENDED UP EXTINGUISHING 'TAINOS' FROM PR... SO THAT REMINDS ME, THERE AREN'T SUCH THING AS 'PURE BLOOD' TAINOS EITHER...SO AFTER 50 YEARS FROM THAT THE 80% OF THE POPULATION LIVING AT PUERTO RICO WAS WESTERN AFRICANS (BLACK). And half blood means MESTIZO.

  • Why did you delete your comment where you said "I'm not white, I'm a proud boricua!"? Is it because it smells like BIGOTRY? You seem like one of the PRS that will do anything to dissociate with anything from Europe. Let me tell you something, if you so happen to have white in your family, you are part white whether you want to accept it or not. ALSO, did you forget about ALL THE EUROPEANS that have been colonizing PR since the 1800s? Or how about the ones that have been there just recently?

  • The more accurate to call Tainos would be Native Americans rather than Amerindians. The terminology known as "Indian" or "Indio" was based on the fact that the Spaniards mistook the natives for the people of the Indian subcontinent. They are simply Natives, just like the rest of the inhabitants of the Americas. I know what a half blooded white and native is. I was referring to how crazy your claim to them being mestizo is. Not everyone is a mestizo and you know it.

  • I guess Joaquin Phoenix, who played the emperor in the movie "Gladiator" and is a Puerto Rican is a half Native American (mestizo) right? LMAO There are whites in PR just like there are blacks in PR. Not to mention all the smaller ethnic groups present there.

  • Comment removed

  • No, he is not half native american because his parents are white from american and he was born in PR by mistake his parents are missionaries.

  • I know he is not Native American, I used him as an example to some people stereotyping PRs saying that they are all Mestizos. Neither is Carlos Ponce who is Puerto Rican and white.

  • we don't give 5 shits of whos skin is white or not.usely the ones that are more into whites are DR not the PR.We don't need to claim shit we are proud of who we are.when it comes down to it we have more so called white skin people than Cuba or DR.

  • @FuckYou6900 CARLOS PONCE IS NOT PRICAN HE IS CUBAN.

  • @xknlion Born in Puerto Rico to Cuban parents of European descent. Anyone born in Puerto Rico is a Puerto Rican. To make distinctions such as that and say that he isn't because his parents are Cuban is to say that no one is originally Puerto Rican considering that the only original people of PR are the Taino Native Americans.

  • @FuckYou6900 TRUE.

  • @xknlion Carlos Armando Ponce, Jr. (born September 4, 1972) is a Puerto Rican actor, singer, composer and television personality of Cuban descent. Ponce began his acting career by participating Spanish language soap operas for Televisa and Telemundo.

  • @xknlion Ponce continued to expand his acting career by participating in various American television series. He did not limit himself solely to a career in television. Ponce, who is also a singer, is also active in the American movie industry as a character actor.

  • @xknlion I am WHITE half french born in Puerto Rico, but I am 100% RICAN. Carlos ponce is Rican like me learn first before you write.

  • @loveangel71 I know everything about carlos ponce not just because we used to be next doors neighbors.,But I wanted to say that his parents are cuban. Like Joaquin Phoenix born in Puerto Rico, but not his parents.. Beside that I agreed with you.

  • 80% thats a little too much

  • I'm Puerto Rican and I never heard of my people marrying cousins. I only heard of that in DR.

  • A Puerto Rican himself told me his father's family practiced it. His father's family are all white, but they would intermarry with cousins and second cousins. The Dominican Republic also does it. Not all whites from Puerto Rico or D.R are the result of that though! Both countries get white settlers coming in every so often either way.

  • Thats bullshit the only people that i heard of marrying cousin were the DR.Mijo yo soy Puertorriqueña dijas las mierdas!.Mi gente no son gente racistas.

  • You are lying. I can even get you to speak with this guy who is Puerto Rican and told me it. I believe him to, because he is not the only one who has admitted it. Why don't you look up Puerto Rico and the intermarrying of whites. I'm actually part PR myself. By the way, you fail at the fact that you are GENERALIZING SAYING THAT PRs ARE NOT RACISTS, I know many racist PRs. In fact there are a couple here on Youtube I could mention LOL

  • Look here moron I don't need to look up nada because I was born in Puerto Rico. You need to stop mr DR...........

  • LOLOL The moron is you senora Soto considering you stubbornness to realize the truth.

  • your*

  • You know what I hate? I hate when racist dominicans post as others to talk shit about my island worry about your own people.Puerto Rico has more so called white skin people than cuba and DR put together. We don't need to prove ourself to noone.we are a very proud people.thank you very much!.

  • Didn't I say I was half Puerto Rican? I don't give a fuck about the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico, but are just two small fucking islands. I hate the Dominican Republic even more because its going to shit with the Haitians. What's with "so called"? Can't even admit they are of European heritage?

  • both are*

  • No, is hilarious when some DR post as other latinos to talk about my island.you need to stop dummigirl.

  • No, you are the one with the problem you wouldn't admit theres afro in your Dr island.

  • Are you fucking stupid? How can I deny there are blacks in that fucking island when so many of those Haitians jump the border on a daily basis. And what the fuck is dummygirl?

  • Oh no i'm not stupid at all you don't need haitian to jump over the border because you have afro-dominicans yourself. I think Johnny Ventura is real afro looking.Wilfredo vargas. (DimmuBorgir)

  • LOL You think I'm DimmuBorgir007? Dimmu is the one that sends me some of these pages so I can comment on. Yes he is full Dominican and he is my cousin. Him, just like me laugh at some of the preposterous shit people put up on these youtube comments. As for Afro Dominicans, those Dominicans are crossed with Euro, so they are mutts. Most Afro DRs are Haitians. 1.3 million illegal Haitians currently reside in DR.

  • Speaking of which, DR and PR are both shitholes that I'm actually rather ashamed of associating with. Especially with the mentality some of these people possess. Don't even have racial awareness judging by what some un-cultured and un-book read people on here have said.

  • Excuse you you ,maybe you are a shithole but not my island and if you feel that way way even bother with my fucking island!. Like I said we are a proud people we need not to prove nothing to noone.we have more so called white rican than your dr or cuban. You and cuba have more afro than we do.

  • "you and Cuba" I'm not even going to bother reiterating what I have already said to you about the two places I come from, because apparently you don't listen. I don't care where I come from, I know how to acknowledge when something is shit. I'm not patriotic at all and the two islands are shit, maybe they make a good vacation spot, if that lol

  • You know what, you are right. Why do I bother, instead of even bothering to address certain issues, I should just dissociate myself to both places, because as of lately they are both embarrassments.

  • Look I am not ashame and don't need to be ashame of my island or my people.and no my island is no damn shithole!. if you are so upset about immigrats do something about stop putting peoples island down.

  • We have PR that is a mere commonwealth and DR that is falling into pieces by Haitians filling it up to the brim, which will make it into "New Haiti" within the next 50-100 years.

  • Look that immigrat problem is every world sad but true!.blame the goverment from haiti and the goverment from DR.They ain't doing shit about it.We Pr are going thru the same thing with the DR pouring in.

  • I know its happening in PR. DRs are floating in there by the thousands. You know why? Because nearly one and half million Haitians have made D.R their home. Some of those "DRs" floating to PR are even Haitians themselves. Its a Domino Effect all through out.

  • You think the D.R government wants those Haitians there? They just can't take extreme measures to keep them on their side of the fence. If they do, then it will be Trujillo all over again and people will cry racism.

  • Yes, thats true but you know what some haitians are racists too!.

  • LOL Haitians are arguably the most racist. They talk about "spics" and whites in the most demeaning ways yet they get hand me downs from them all the time.

  • You know what I myself don't agree with some people saying is a racial thing.this is happening world wide and we can't even feed our own people can you image other pouring in.I don't think is fair some people accusing DR of being racists.

  • Yeah, I'm going to blunt about it. Some aspects of the separation have racial undertones behind it, but its not the only factor like you said. If DR had an open border to Haiti, the entire island would be poor like Haiti and not only that but most of the "Hispanic" culture would be drowned out by Haitian culture or at least severely diluted. DR doesn't want more blacks than it already has lol and you know what I mean. They would go crazy if they brought them all in.

  • I think DR should take care of their own people first and the haitian goverment should get it shit straight.and really it wouldn't made any different if both place were only afro people. The same shit still would be going on today.

  • The main reason is economics, but what I'm saying that racial reasons do have a say in the matter, though not explicitly. Either way, I can only see it going down hill as the years go by.

  • do you think haitainas are more racist thru DRS?

  • I believe it goes both ways. Though Haitians are probably more explicitly racist/nationalistic, whatever you may call it, against DRs. They are just bitter that they are part of the same island yet they fair hundreds of times worse than their neighboring country.

  • Thats not DRs fault they should blame their all blk goverment.

  • Yeah it isn't their fault, but that's not the way they see it. People always look for something to fight about. The human race is a never ending conflict, so redundant and predictable.

  • I really think people should mind their own business.God I really dislike afro-centrics.

  • Youtube is crawling with them, mostly African Americans.

  • maybe you should run for office in haiti. haitian is poor because haiti has SANCTIONS, the haitians kicked the french out and they have TRADE EMBARGOS on them. when you don't do what EUROPEANS (the people who you love) want you to do being that they have have military/economic power they put trade embargos on you like zimbabwe, and haiti, to a lesser extent cuba and venezuela.

  • Yes, I know why because the ecomonic is bad and the goverment ain't shit.

  • @FuckYou6900 ur an idiot, shut tha hell up!!

  • @FuckYou6900 ur an idiot, shut tha hell up!!

  • Google, RACISM IN PUERTO RICO. You are so blatantly lying if you believe racism does not exist in PR. I know White PRs that treat black or dark skinned mixed PRs like shit.

  • Im Puerto rican and proud, my father is PR of African descent, my mother is white skin easily of spaniard and taino descent.

  • Ditto. Im fully puerto rican. My mom has auburn hair (when she was a child she was a red head) with freckles and everying. In her side of the family she has family with red hair, green eyes and freckles (perhaps irish or scotting people went to puerto rico? Who knows.). But she also has these native american high cheek bones and olive skin. Thats her taino side. While my dad is mostly african.

Damn we sure are one heck of a mix eh? lol.

  • hehe i have a daughter with olive skin black hair morena and i also have a daughter blanca with red hair and freckles!

  • Its sad but some Puerto Ricans are as racist as a Southern White men but they are culturally more African than African American and most people from the Afro Caribbean. It must be painful to hate yourself.

  • cant read spanish but i get the gist of naturvita's comment. no gringos must mean no white people !! the drums are pure african drums and if anyone says anything different on here they are on DE NIAL..

  • NaturVita said " how sad it is that many puerto ricans dont want to accept our african roots. like it or not WE ARE NOT WHITE (SHE MEANS SPANIARDS) we arent 100% white or or blacks (african) or tainos 100% we are a mix of all that and much more

  • thanks for that translation, i have been told that there are some south american descendants of the slave trade who are in denial and believe that they are white and that their black african skin is the mark of the devil..

  • I know nothing about that.

  • am just repeating what i have been told that puerto ricans dont accept that they have any african blood in them that they reject it and consider it evil on the whole, and its rare to find any puerto rican who celebrates their african heritage the same way the brazillans do

  • thatricankidd787, there was always be white Puerto Ricans and black Puerto Ricans. The entire island is not all mixed, besides many people of European descent have been making PR there home over the last few decades in increasing numbers. To think that all Puerto Ricans are thoroughly mixed is stereotyping. A Puerto Rican can be of any race.

  • When did i say all puerto ricans are thoroughly mixed?

  • When you quoted NaturVita. I'm not saying you directly said that, but I was more focused on that person's actual words with is absurd. Pardon me if you thought I meant you.

  • Why is it absurd what i said, becuase it is the truth. No Puerto Rican is pure white as you claim it in your comment. I'm so sick of people like you downplaying our cultural heritage. There are people like you who trty to make Puerto Rico look like an island inhabited by mostly white people or others like NCMACT who try to make it look like we have things in common with the African American community from the US when in fact both things could not be farther from the truth.

  • You're lying, not every single Puerto Rican in this island has mixed. There are people in Puerto Rico that are full black and full white. Its people with YOUR view that make Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics so easy to stereotype when you reinforce common misconceptions. Whatever HAPPENED to the the people that have recently immigrated into PR? There are 2nd and 3rd generation Europeans in PR as well. Not to mention that it is impossible for every white person to have systematically mixed.

  • You know how I know you lie? Well for one thing I have seen more white Puerto Ricans than I have seen Dominicans and my dad is a white Dominican. Not a white "looking" one, I mean a WHITE one. Though he was born there, all his grand parents (not great grandparents) were from Spain. Dude is whiter than me and just look at my picture. Don't give me that propaganda and say that all Hispanics are the same, because its bullshit. Not all PRs and other Hispanics are mixed.

  • Thirdly, I have visited PR twice and there are more whites on that Island than I ever seen in the states. If you do some research you will see that there has been an increasing influx of Europeans settling there. Shit, I know a PR who is of German ancestry.

  • Are you Puerto Rican? Have you lived here long enough? I am not talking about traveling the country I mean actually lived here. If you are NOT an islander or a person of Puerto Rican descent I would appreciated if you kept your comments to yourself.

Keep living in a fantasy world. I LIVE here and I have yet to see all those "PURE" white ppl you claim live here. Puerto Rico es mestizo, te guste o no!!

  • You keep living in a fantasy world LOL You are hilarious. How the hell do you know that every single white Puerto Rican is a "mestizo"? Do you know the genealogy of every single damn islander? And do you even know what a mestizo is? Its someone who is strictly 50% white 50% Native American. Someone who is 75% white, 25% native would be called CASTIZO. I know Puerto Ricans and have family that is Puerto Rican, not just DR, and you are a joke for saying that everyone is mixed.

  • You know what I noticed about you? You hate white people, plain and simple. You are so deluded by your logic that you refuse to accept how irrational it is to think that every single person on that island is mixed. If just ONE person were to be born there who's parents came from Europe, your argument is nullified. EVEN HAITI, which is over 95% black, has WHITE PEOPLE. Get over it, PR has whites and the "mixed" race portion of the population leans heavily to white. Want mestizos? Go to Mexico.

  • People like you are quite a sight to see. Its just like the ultra pale carrot top green eyed Celtic looking Puerto Rican girl I knew who refused to acknowledge she was white. Not to mention that IRISH people settled in PR as well, you should know if you know about your history so much. This racial denial is as bad as the charcoal black Dominican who resembles a Haitian and says he or she isn't black.

  • I'm a joke? what world do you live in? I suggest once more you wake up to reality. STOP TRYING TO BE WHITE! FYI you don't even look white. Nust be hard trying to ber something you're not. It makes me wonder now why white people make fun of the likes of you. Keep dreaming buddy.

  • Funny considering everyone says I'm either Greek or Italian. Here you are assuming what I am. Dumbass, most of my ancestry is Spaniard, then French, English then Lebanese. Don't tell me what I am or what I'm not. You stop trying to be a mutt and living in your little comfort zone. Extremely ignorant for even suggesting that Puerto Rico is all Mestizo. A white and a black person doesn't make a mestizo and some Puerto Ricans are just that. Not to mention most PRs are white, get over it LOL

  • I served myself as an example as to why the stereotypes are FALSE. How can someone not be of Mediterranean European ancestry the moment they are born into an island? You are so illogical I simply laugh at you. I guess that makes all White Americans Native Americans since they were born in Native lands. Not to mention that most white Americans have minute amounts of black and native in their blood. Do research fool.

  • Shit, I look whiter than most of the Italians I know, guess your petty attempt at trying to silence my very rational argument failed. You have yet to give me a valid reason as to why your ass thinks every single PR is a mestizo which is ridiculous.

  • OMG you so beyonf ridiculous. If it makes you feel good to call me a joke, go ahead. Someone as sad and delusional as you deserves to keep living in a fanatsy world. If you are "White" as you claim to be, what the hell are you doing warching this video. Go watch some Hitler videos or of ppl that pretend to be white like you. Ciao dreamer!!! you're good laugh

  • LOLOLOLOL What the fuck does Hitler have to do with anything? Once again, evidence that you are a fucking racist. I come to this video because someone showed it to me months ago. Secondly, I said that a Puerto Rican can be BLACK, WHITE, MULATTO, MESTIZO, CASTIZO, etc, or anything in between. Not to mention that there are OTHER ethnic groups in PR. You incredibly closed minded for saying that every PR is a mestizo. Enjoy your bullshit safety zone by pretending your a Mestizo. :-)

  • Are you on medication? HUMM let me see you want to be WHITE, you say that Puerto Ricans are NOT mestizos. And you're calling me a racist. Buddy get some help!! Keep believing your bullshit as well Ignorant fool.

  • First of all, I'm not full white. Secondly, unlike YOU, I acknowledge I'm mostly white. I know where BOTH sides of my family came from. You are the racist in denial. Even if you were a MESTIZO, that means you are half white. You are as white as Obama is black, enough said.

  • The Wise man has spoken, therefore it must be true. have fun being white!!

  • The same to you sir, since your at least half white. Good day/night to you.

  • this bomba muisc is good. all haitian aint pure black and all mexican aint pure indian. u got mexicans dat r black and white,. u got white and arabs in haiti. pr are mostly white or mixed w/ white so r most people in da usa including blacks. but u can most in da usa is black or mixed w/ black b/c most whites in da usa got black dna. most people in pr got black blood dis is fact. not all but most. dont get it twisted. most mexicans are indian as most non black people in central america.

  • don't really agree with wat you said about central american people being indian. The majority of the people in Central America are "mestizos" mixed African (some), Indian, and Spanish heritage.

and yea its true a lot of us Ricans have black blood. but hey i ain't hatin.

    viva puerto rico.

  • Please Boricua read your history!

  • I can't wait to visit my family again. I love my father's island...

He told me about bomba, but I've never actually seen it for myself. It's cool.

  • ORGULLOSO DE SER DE LOIZAAA

  • i deff agree with arizzle4sho!

  • Unfortunately racism and ignorance is everywhere in the world, but for many countries or societies lighter is better and more beautiful,But the truth is people of color are the majority including PR,our roots can't be changed and yes their are many white skin PRicans that love and embrace their african culture, & even have more soul and awareness than some black PRicans or any other black skin hispanic.I am a dark PRican and proud, would'nt change or deny what i am for nothing in this world.

  • its only in those regions throughout latin america were you dont see whites, mulattoes, but instead people of majority african heritage were u see the embracing of roots. I mean were else in pr do u find a loiza. look at the negros de la habana del esta, the panamanians, and most importantly the garifunas of central america. These are all regions known to be of almost pure african heritage. Most regions have lost touch with there roots due 2 blending in with societies ignorance

  • Southern food is a cross between European and African. The way we seson our food down south has strong African influence

  • I hate puerto ricans who deny their african roots. those are the same ones who think that they're white. Stop celebrating Columbus, and start waking up to the real European oppression. We are in a mental enslavement. We don't know our Taino culture, and deny our African. I'm proud of my Taino and African culture. Pal carajo Espana!
