The communists Chinese invaded the south and were repelled by the southerners with aid of the U.S. and other allies. It is hardly a stalemate when the war ends with the defender still holding his territory.

In the event of a North Korean invasion of the South the South Korean government would give control of its military to the U.S. command. it is clear the South Koreans trust the U.S. government.
Remember, China fought for North Koreans. The Allied forces had the North Koreans forces run down all the way to the Chinese border. When the Chinese came they pushed the allied forces all the way back to the 38th parallel where they achieved their objectives. At the time China had to fight against 8-9 countries combined. The Vietnam army took advantage of the American will to fight. Despite constant military victories and low casualties the American public were not willing to tolerate the war.
Assuming the war stayed conventional all the U.S. would need to do to cripple China would be to blockade the Chinese ports and starve em. Chinese naval capabilities are near worthless.

Korea, we achieved our goals, we still have a south and North with 65,000 troops waiting for anything. Iraq is like Germany in post WW2. We occupied and stabilized them. Their were resistance groups still their but we got them. We have pulled out most of our troops except for 50,000. We won their too.

The communists Chinese invaded the south and were repelled by the southerners with aid of the U.S. and other allies. It is hardly a stalemate when the war ends with the defender still holding his territory.

When the Chinese came they pushed the allied forces all the way back to the 38th parallel where they achieved their objectives. At the time China had to fight against 8-9 countries combined. We did our objective in Korea, so we won that war. Another thing, During the Vietnam War, Americas weren't trained for that type of combat. The Vietcong were straight at home hiding in holes and digging caves. The PLA wouldn't stand a chance against our modern Military. Were stronger now and the strongest modern military today.

The objective of the PLA is to push americans and NATO back, and they did. americans never won a war since after ww2, americans are thr biggest military spender, that's all. american couldn't even overcome amateur talibans and Al Quada fighters..

@youbeatmeat Realistically nobody won the Korean war. You could say America won because we were able to put a base there. If Korea won they would have knocked us out completly, which they didn't.We've only signed a cease fire, not a peace treaty. So tecnically the US, UN Forces, and South Korea are still at war with Communist North Korea. To say we haven't won a war sense WWII would be false, we've won the Gulf War.

For one American soldier you spend is equal to two Chinese soldier. So if you spend 2 billion, the Chinese need to spend just 1 billion. And if the Chinese are spending 3 to 4 billion, you are spending 6 to 7 billion respectively. Does that clear the air now?

@yourtubeNmytube Doesn't matter. We still spend on our military than every country on earth combined. EVEN WITH the slightly larger gap per soldier, we're still spending a LOT on military hardware. Like an aircraft carrier for example. We have 12. China has 1 (that they bought from Russia LMAO!!). They aren't exactly cheap. So not only are we outspending them, but our military hardware surpasses theirs too. Does THAT clear the air?

@amphibwarrior0321 I can easily compare Vietnam to the US, the US has a few trillion dollar debts, but Vietnam doesn't, Vietnam kicked the US off their soil, the US evacuated off their soil, Either way, the US and Vietnam still have a positive relationship, and the war was 40 years ago. The US responded to China by putting a base in Australia.

@dinison6 The political problems were because people here protested the war, and things like that. The did not disable us from fighting, They were the ones being basically disabled, they were getting decimated by our forces and pushed back by airstrikes.

@BlindBusDrivr In this situation, you have to consider all factors. The people in America watching the war saw what happened there and they saw the bloodiest war per person. Then the protests started which led to riots which was hurting American economy and its ability to remain in the war. No money no war. The NVA was lucky to stumble upon this and were able to overtake the south when the Americans pulled out.
