Because the movie has more to do with the book than the game. The game is loosely based on the book and movie. Very Loosely.

In the movie theres no anomalies, nothing "paranormal" except the girl at the end.

The movie is very loosely based in the book.

The game is different because it happens many years later and the Chernobyl incident hadnt even happened when the book and the movie came out.

I meant to say that this movie is very different than the book and games, nearly no paranormalities at all. This movie is "arthouse" styled filosofical story about how contraversary people change their minds.

The environment are staggering however.

there are no colours outside of the zone! The zone has an extra perceptual quality that the rest of the world does not have.

I guess the lack of anomalies one can see is due to the oustanding expertise of the stalker ;) and due to a low budget production ^_^

The stalker said that the zone has another pace of time. Right at the beginning when they enter the zone the stalker talks about some flowers that porcupine cut down. Although this happened months ago, the smell of the flowers is still in the air.

LARP was always way, way too nerdy-looking for me to really want to participate, but I have to hand it to them, they have actual, proper run-down buildings. And it does look fairly cool when not totally embarrassing, which isn't often. I'll stick to pen and paper, but it's vaguely cool to know that stuff like this has been done. Vaguely.

That is probably because they are using Air Soft guns. Which are effectively small plastic BB's . They are really hard to see, but can really sting when you are hit.

Also cyber punk larping is far from nerdy people see it as just a differnt type of larp to foam weapons however it is much more like pretend gun fighting as the original rules for cyber punk are not suited to larp it becomes more like finger gun fights but more fun.

(also i must admit to the rule fantsy larp is kinda sad, see lighting bolt nerd but just plain smacking someone silly with a huge foam axe is no more nerdy than historical battle renactments)

I just called it "playing" or "using my imagination" Seriously, I don't get it. Running around "and using my imagination" got boring when I hit the age of 14. Instead I started playing paintball.
