I'm not sure, but I think i remember reading somewhere that short, fast movement is good for tendon and muscle strength. It's probably better for stamina(endurance) and muscle definition, than slow exercises with more range of motion which are better for building mass.
Shouldn't you be doing them slower with more range of motion?
