  • ..mmmm..

    ..

mechanics shoppe meets Aunt Jemima at the Strawberry Emporium

  • @4Xissues Now THAT'S a meeting!

  • Hey uh.... Can you review the version of this that's for men? Blue Sugar? I got a sample of it and really liked it... but I'm 30. Would it be completely stupid for me to buy this?

  • @davidchenault If you love it, wear it. It's just a smell, after all, and it'll become "you" when you wear it. It's been a while since I've tried it (don't see it around anymore), but I know it's a guilty pleasure for those who love that overtly caramelized (ie burnt) sugar tinge to their fragrance, along with a burnt coffee/chocolate/whatever sweetness.

  • It smells like candlewax to me! D:

  • @TheRocketVoltage I wonder if that's because of the burnt aspect?

  • Any chance you can review Beyonces "Heat", its a 'juicy' smell to me.

  • lmao, very funny.

  • x'D I love sweet sugary scents but i dont like wearing them when I have the munchies or a strong craving for sweet things ._.

  • @themagicalfox6 Interesting - it takes you too far down the craving path, it sounds like.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells

    pretty much lol XD

  • Wtf?

  • god it was disgusting

  • I bought this but ended up spraying a little more then needed the first day. My teacher said something smells like sugar and the older lady next to me said she wanted to hurl oops . I like smelling it on myself tho so I just spray a lil of it. I dont want to intoxicate anyone lol

  • @thoserubyslippers A cautionary tale, indeed!

  • Can this be compared to the Britney Spears perfumes? Because I love those! But PS is not available in my country (and pretty darn cheap online), so I thought about buying it even if I havent smelled it... But I dont want to hate it either. I have flowerbomb, but that was too strong for my taste. Any thoughts, Katy? Is this similar to Diors Cherie?

  • wow lady, you are hilarious ! glad i found this channel, even if i dont wear many scents. maybe i smell .... :S lol

  • @GreenAmyJ ;-)

  • Hey, Katie, have you checked out Pink Sugar Sensual yet? My husband bought it for me as a joke since I usually wear more bizarre and offbeat fragrances...

...and I bought the hand lotion today. Jerk. :P

Anyhoo, it's definitely more mature than the regular Pink Sugar that is actually office worthy.

  • @aggrotech When I tried PS Sensual, I thought it was actually a little sweeter than the original, if that's even possible. I need to go back and revisit my sample.

  • probs my least fave smell ever

  • Pink sugar smells like burnt cookies on my skin , yukkk !!

  • i just smelt pink sugar today after watching this... it's exactly it's name. Too girly and sweet for me I think. :P

  • you are so entertaining, I don't know if I'm really learning about the perfume.

  • okey, so why review a perfume when you're just being sarcastic about it? Grow up..

  • @Gockin Because it's fun! Perfume is fun!

  • @Gockin Because for people like myself who find themselves agreeing with the reviewer on many fragrances, reviews such as this help steer us towards or away from fragrances that we might love or hate.

  • Love your videos ;.)

  • @Jenniferzz Thanks!

  • i loooove Pink sugar ! I had mine custom made without alcohol. it last all day and dry down to a yummy base note.

  • @jeniferex Where can you get Pink Sugar custom made? Was it duped by an independent perfumer?

  • THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME

  • i love the first four of this with the smell of strawberry candy not so keen on the drydown nice but to powdery loosing that fresh yummy smell!

  • Haha i love your reviews

  • Okay I hate to admit this but I love Pink Sugar and I'm 44 years old! It's actually not very sweet on me past the first 5 minutes, then it dries down to a very warm cozy vanilla with just a bit of red berry mixed in. It's one of the only perfumes in my ever growing collection that my husband likes (he likes Alien also but that's it!). I think if you like the smell of a perfume you should wear it regardless of who the "target market" is.

  • @charlottesmom I agree with you on wearing what works. It's funny that it's your husb's fave!

  • It has a rubber note to it......or am I nuts?

  • @greengreyeyes28 I've not noticed rubber, but certainly charred sugar.

  • Hi Katie I Was Wondering If You know Of A Good Dupe For This Perfume As I Can't Get It In Ireland I Would Be So Grateful Thanks

  • @MakeUpMadeEasy Well, nothing's as pink-sugary as Pink Sugar. But you could try Jessica Simpson Fancy, or for a ritzy-titsier version, V&R Flowerbomb.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Good choice of dupes - I would say Pink Sugar is the one-dimensional, uninteresting, cheap version of Flowerbomb. (I actually expected to like it, since I adore Flowerbomb, but on me it didn't evolve at all - it just kept smelling like burned sugar.)

  • @Lyckojazz Flowerbomb is definitely smoother, deeper, more complex.

  • I bought this today. I love it. I smell so yummy I bit my arm earlier... Now it hurts :(

  • @snailbacon Please don't resort to self-cannibalism!

  • I love this video. I just hit the subscribe button. You're funny.

  • @vanitybeauty1 Oh yay! Thank you!

  • @Ejp2477 Ha! That's what I call "perfume commitment"!

  • i love love love this perfume its just awsome its so sweet at first like strawberrys then vanilla cookies yum yum lol!

  • would this be a good scent for the teens out there?

  • @TheBeeDreams For sure! It brings the smiles.

  • This one surprised me, too. I thought I hated it (burnt sugar...ick, it really does smell carcinogenic), and I ended up love it. The drydown is soft, sweet, and enjoyable, and it lasts a long time. I'm glad I saw this review because I was thinking I might be a 'tween in a middle aged woman's body like Freaky Friday. :-)

  • @Slivings911 Haha...it's a Freaky Friday Fragrance!

  • wow this is my go to scent and ya'll are all making me feel like crap about it.... awesome.

  • Oh god, this stuff smells so bad. Like, just fake and gross. It does not smell like sugar or cotton candy, it smells like chemicals. Very unnatural.

  • @1729439568 Well, cotton candy is pretty darned chemical smelling, if you ask me. But yeah, Pink Sugar is certainly not country-meadow-natural.

  • Wow, i may get this 1 for my friend. :)

  • i smelled this in a hair perfume and it was verrryyy sweet. in other words didnt like it. im 13 any suggestions i like light sweet fruity floral scents.

  • @Musicnote2244 Sniff these and see if they appeal: Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties Lil' Angel, Nina Ricci Nina, Kat Von D Saint, Burberry Brit Sheer, Body Shop Love Etc, Fresh Sugar Lychee, Bath & Bodyworks Midnight Pomegranate

  • I will get a decant of it soon! Very excited, I never smelled it as it's not available where I live. In the past I never like yummy-sweet kind of scents, but I love sweetness, and recently got Jessica Simpson Fancy - ooh, this is soooo nice D:>

I think I have a huge sweetness tolerance not only in food but also fumes. .. so if the neighbours' dog ever bites me he'd puke because I must taste like splenda!

  • @flexiplnt Or maybe the dog would love your sugar-sprinkled sweetness, and you'd end up with teeth marks all over you!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells love bites eh? ^^ No, I think it wont happen.. I've had it for almost two days & so far.. this gives a whole new meaning to the word artificial - Honestly all I smell is _burnt_ sugar that burned in hell for veeeery long, along with licorice in its plastic bags.

The tiny drop violated my nose for hours.. same w/ Chocolovers. I'll give 'em to my friends I think.

    Sooo brutally sharp. D:

(I'm glad for everyone who loves it & who it works for though!)

  • @flexiplnt Haha - "licorice in its plastic bags". That will be the "industrial revolution" to which I referred. Pink Sugar always strikes me as practically avant-garde on account of its oddness.

  • IT SMELLS LIKE POO

  • Oh I love Pink Sugar (and I am 34). I believe every woman can wear this fragrance. It is such a fun smell. I don't find it strong as I heard people saying, I find it a soft, fun and lovely fragrance. I normally seem to like fresh or aquatic fragrances, but this is the only exception.

  • @Sukantara I don't find it strong, either, just distinctive. And it's interesting that it gets fresher the longer you wear it.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Katie, do you like Pink Sugar for personal use or do you find it too sweet to wear ?

  • @Sukantara It's too sweet for my taste, but it is fun to smell.

  • i bought this on amazon for twenty bucks

  • i ADOREE polo express by ralph lauren, ifound a sample inside a magazine at the local barber shop.

as soon as i sniffed it, i nearly died from the GORGEOUS scent. it's EXACTLY the way men should smell like :D.

    it's my cat-nip ;D

what's your cat-nip-like perfume for men?

  • @Unsia Catnip for me when worn by a guy: Bulgari Black

  • I'm a really young teen. I went to sephora and sprayed this on my wrist. I sniffed it for 2 hours like crazy until I went swimming. Chlorine isn't as appealing as cotton candy.... I really want to buy a bottle, probably off amazon.

  • @XPRESSproductionz Haha, yeah, chlorine will kill the joy in just about every smell...

  • i love that perfume!!! =][=

  • I admit it ...I bought it for my tween but I kept stealing it. I really like that smell but just not on me....it's a great fragrance but it does smell like candy so it's perfect for well...tweens.

  • It is my favorite freagrance because the perfume is young and i am young ;-D

  • OK, I almost laughed out loud at your description of this perfume being "the smell of an overheated cotton candy machine with the charred sugar syrup cooked onto the motor"...you NAILED it! LOL!

  • i know ive commented to much on your videos, but you are AMAZING! i juts type a random perfume i think of, and suprisingly its there most of the time! YOURE AMAZING! arent you in T.V biz? you should be! have your 30 min. fragrance reviews!

oh and also, try to make a review of this perfume called "the 7th element" it smells great, but its too strong, powdery, and flowery, tell me what you think! :D

  • @SuperPoisonCupcake Aw, thanks very much for your appreciation! Yes, I've done TV shows in the UK and US.

Who makes The 7th Element and where do you find it?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells :(

im really not so sure, i smelled it on my friend, asker her, and she actually loaned me the bottle! i searched all around that bottle for the name! NO NAME! and she said her mom got that perfume from a department store, so it MUST have a brand???

  • lol your impression of the tweens is so hilarious because the other day i was at macys and there were a group of like 10-12 year olds saying/doing the same thing........but i didnt steal the tester from them like you did......i shouldve tho ;)

  • @Coristutoris Oh, that's funny!

  • ROFL :'D

  • Funny!

  • i'm 13 and i actually hated it, i was only atracted by the name and bottle, but the smell is sickly!!

  • @RaspberryPrincess15 Well, "sickly" does live up to the name "Pink Sugar", right?

  • If I was Aquolina...I would ask her to take this comment down! It gives a bad, bad, bad impression impression of the scent. She certainly isn't doing positive advertisement or promotion for Pink Sugar!

  • @raymondtaylorful You are correct. I'm not advertising Pink Sugar. I'm reviewing it.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Point well taken!!

  • Does Pink Sugar smell anything like Britney Spears Fantasy the pink bottle ?

  • @wildchildbabies Weird - same exact question right below you. It smells similarly vanilla sweet, but Fantasy is more fruity.

  • It smells like cup cakes.

  • @cutevwbug Yes!

  • could you please review emilio pucci vivara variazioni?

  • @CupcakeQueen77 I need to look into those Puccis.

  • Does Pink Sugar smell anything like Britney Spears Fantasy the pink bottle ?

  • @friscobiatch78 A little bit, but Britney Spears Fantasy is more fruity.

  • LMAO!!!! I love your humor wit this review!! I def subbed!! :D

  • it smells like burnt cookies

  • @lochboy766 Yes!

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who detects the lemoney note in Pink Sugar.

  • Lol your imitation of tweens was so accurate it makes me cringe, just like when I encounter tweens in real life. This is why I avoid the mall.

  • @EffervescentFire Sometimes I feel like I live at the mall...

  • Hi Katie! I'm just wondering have u ever tried Hard Candy perfume? I bought it and it's also very sweet. I always wanna try Pink Sugar and I've read reviews on Hard Candy, some ppl say Pink Sugar and Hard Candy are really really similar. So katie, could u please tell me how do u think about the two perfumes, and should I get Pink Sugar if I already have Hard Candy?

  • @LuvCatz905 I haven't tried Hard Candy. Just trust your nose - you'll know when you smell Pink Sugar if it's different enough to justify buying. It might even be a better version of HC, and in that case, you should definitely get it!

  • Im a guy and blue sugar is my favorite cologne! Cant get enough of it!!

  • Can you still find it in the stores? I haven't seen it around lately. It is a great option for guys who don't want to smell like everyone else...and have a severe sweet tooth!

  • yea they sell it at sephora still

  • I just got mine from ebay and I love it! Your description hits it full on! There is just one part I don't like too much - I think it's the strawberry. But it's still funky, I'm happy I got it! :)

  • I love how a smell can make us happy!

  • Awsome! Jessica says romo was her inspiration for fancy love... poor jess feel sorry for her, but at least a wonderful fragrance came outta it right?

  • Yes! Gotta weigh up the positives, right?

  • Fancy love is softer and more subtle than fancy. It has pink champagne and peach in it. I love it! Both her fragrances sell really well. Fancy love kinda smells like the original burberry classic

  • Since we last "spoke", I marched myself down to the mall to check out Fancy Love. You're right, it's softer than Fancy. Kind of more romantic.

  • I love the pink sugar! My other favorites are Britneys Fantasy and jessicas fancy which does amazing at dillards. I sell fancy ALOT. Katie have you tried Fancy or Fancy love yet?

  • I've tried Fancy, but not Fancy Love. What are the differences? I know that Fancy is a cross between fruit punch and cotton candy.

  • Hey do you know any scents that are really girly for a 12 year old? Because I want a sugery smelling perfume that everyone can smell and think it smells good. Is it that perfume?

  • You could try Pink Sugar, Vera Wang Princess (though that one is a bit softer), and Nina Ricci Nina. An ultra yummy smelling one is Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot - it smells like sweet, fruity cake!

  • i like the name of the perfume. Did you like the perfume or did it smell disgusting?

  • It was kinda crazy, but not disgusting. For a perfume called "Pink Sugar", it really delivers!

  • Thank you!

  • i bought my boyfriend blue sugar for christmas a few years ago and he still wears it i think its a nice change from regular men fragarance

  • Blue Sugar - I've forgotten about that one! It's weird but nice. I haven't seen it around for a while.

  • i have a question do u buy most of the perfumes u review ?or simply smell them first ? i was just wondering b/c if u bought and kept all them that would be tons of perfume and nearly impossible to go through them all =]

  • You're so right, darkwatervamp, it's impossible to really get the most out of all of the bottles in a perfume collection if the collection gets over 20-30-40-100+! (I think I'm at around 60 right now - I'll know for sure after I do my perfume collection video tonight.)

In answer to your question, I don't own all the fragrances I review. I do have some of them, but most I have samples of or decants of.

  • Ugh. This smells so disgusting, like melted plastic. I had to take a shower after I put it on.

  • Heh! Pink Sugar isn't the most "natural" smelling perfume...

  • Ur not funny at all and this wasn't close to helpful .

  • Thanks for checking in.

  • LOL. I was laughing to much the first time i watched this that i head to re-watch it for the actual info. xD it is actually a very nice perfume though.

  • Glad to nudge a chuckle outa you!

  • hahaha...

  • lmao you crack me up i <3 your immatation of the teenies

  • One of my favorite perfume of all times! I always wonder how they made that scent so sweet, but light and fresh smelling at the same time. It's a sophisticated sweetness, not too girly, monotonous or artificial like other gourmand perfumes.

And it's a real BIG guy magnet. I've gotten so many compliments for this smell, especially from guys. They're like unintentionally drawn close by the scent. xD

  • ...like moths to the sugar flame!

  • Hey girl, first time watching one of your videos, you got some great humor.

  • Thank you!

  • I don't get how people smell burnt when they sample this. Maybe it's just my teen nose, but I love it :)

  • To me, it's the same kind of burnt as toasted marshmallows. An edible kind of burnt, rather than burning plastic or hair on fire, or something!

  • I sampled this perfume and went into diabetic shock...

  • Medic!

  • i had a bottle of this a couple yrs ago when the whole candy/desert smell thing was in... loved it but now when i smell it dont like it as much... youre right its probably better for teenagers

  • your so funny, witty, and really helpful- thankyou!!! xoxo

  • Thank YOU, and you're welcome!

  • dang your rude

  • Dang!

  • bahahaahh OH MY GOD OH MY GOD ohmygod

  • haha this is funnny :]

  • Glad you're tickled!

  • total MILF

  • Mhmmmm aquolina, i hope to have it for christmas:-)))))

  • Let's hope Santa's on the case!

  • Oh yes i hope:-///

    I love it:-D

  • HA! That's great! It does depend on body chemistry...On one girl it smells like vanilla cotton candy...On another, it smells like cloying, sugary/lysol death...Ew!

  • "Lysol death" lol.

  • OMG This was hilarious.

  • LOL! youre so funny haha well i like strawberry waffles!

  • At first it seems too sweet for me. However, the longer it stays the more likable it is.

  • Yep..sure does, but didn't have a lot of staying power. Wish you would have the bottle of each one you do reviews on so I can see them rather than a pic before your review.

  • I'd have to be a kajillionaire to own all the perfumes I review! I don't always have the bottles to show - I work with a lot of decants and samples.

But I do have some goofy fun with the Narciso Rodriquez Essence bottle in the review that's coming up - that's an amazing bottle that I do have.

  • I want this perfume, but whenever I ask someone which is not Saven I could say exactly how to ask to search the E, U, A and q in Mexico is not anywhere.

  • Just buy it online!

  • But as online apology my ignorance but is not jajja as you buy it online. but thanks for answering

  • It's the same stuff. You'll be fine ordering it online.

  • I LOVE this perfume! It's me me freakin me!!!! Thanks you sooooo much for the funny informative review and I now have 2 bottles coming my way as gifts and the roller ball in my purse. I get stopped all the time by people wanting to know what I have on LOOOOOOVEEEE IT!!!!!!

  • Hahaha! You are the Pink Sugar Queeeeeennn!

  • i would like to ask since i am buying these perfumes online for most of it r not ava in my country on which would suit me better- lola by marc jacobs, si lolita by lolita lempicka or pink sugar by aquolina.

my previous perfumes were vera wang rock princess, anna sui night of fancy, the first fragrance by lolita lempicka n i do like sweet perfume

    thanx

  • You should go for Si Lolita!

  • i love this perfume soo much, but they stopped selling it at sephora :(

  • Rebecca - they still have it at Sephora...maybe they sold out of yours. I've also seen Pink Sugar at Nordstrom and online.

  • where am i able to find this fragrance? please send me a message because usually i dont come back to videos i have seen :) please and thank you X)

  • Love your reviews! out of curiosity what is the name of the song playing in this video?

  • My "theme song" is "Perfume" by Sparks from their "Hello Young Lovers" album.

  • hi katie, i wondered if u can help me find a fragrance that is similar to burberry london for men but that has more staying power? thank u for any input!

  • Try Tom Ford for Men Extreme and Bulgari Black.

  • Hey, katie =) Question... I use perfumes as Love by Nina richi, J'adore by dior, and Lola by Marc Jacobs. Do you think I would like Pink shugar?

  • While the perfumes you listed all have a distinct sweetness, I believe Pink Sugar would just blast you out of the bakery with its sugariness. Instead, I'd point you in the direction of the new one from The Body Shop, "Love Etc". The woodiness of Lola makes me think you'd like the new Nanette Lapore, "Nanette". And the rich florals of J'adore suggest that you might also enjoy the original Burberry for Women. Happy sniffing!

  • I got the perfume for Christmas when I first smelled it I was like WOW THAT IS STRONG!!! then I got used to it and I love it!! <3

  • It's true that you can get "broken in" to a perfume - and learn to love it - I'm the same way.
