Can you guys give Iran Khodro a break? Atleast they were able to make a running engine with about 120HP! That's more than the civic! Companies like GM or Toyota has had years to mature, while Iran just started making their own engines! And guess what! Ford took Escort platform and made Jaguar X series out of it. Once your plants are tooled for a platform it's not economical to re-tool for a new product. Platform sharing is very very common in auto industry. Can't fault the car on that account.
