  • ROCK!!!!!!

  • i bought this cassette when it came out. Always preferred this version over Quiet Riots. Crazy Daisy's House of Dreams was an exceptional song as well.

  • I remember when I was young, this video change my life REALLY !!!!!!!

  • Where are they now? Seems they had such a short rock career.

  • What a great song!! Best times of my life when this was out.

  • What a great band and a great cover. Blows away Quiet Riot's version IMO

  • Actually, Quiet Riot had been around since the mid 70's. It was the band Randy Rhoads played with before he auditioned for Ozzy. They made two albums that were only released in Japan before Randy went off to play with Ozzy, I think largely because QR couldn't get an American record deal. In fact, I think it was the Ozzy/Randy connection that actually led to the band's record deal with Pasha and the release of Metal Health.

  • Pat's my Dad. He's the best! :-)

  • Quit Riots version was actually the last of them. Quit Riot was still new when Mamas Boys was out

  • The Professor........

Pisses on the Quiet Riot version anyway (Kevin DuBrow R.I.P.)

Slade had the original, The Runaways did a good version too, both before Quiet Riot. I think the mama's Boys version was, in fairness, after the Q.R. version.

  • Nah, the Mama's Boys version definitely came out first. I remember hearing it before anybody else's version. Then I heard the Quiet Riot version, which I thought was way inferior. I like what Quiet Riot did with Cum On Feel The Noize, but I think they were trying to repeat the novelty by doing another Slade song, and it obviously didn't work.

  • The Professor........

Pisses on the Quiet Riot version anyway (Kevin DuBrow R.I.P.)

  • Did Quiet Riot steal this song from Mama's Boys?

  • @smdehn3 I do believe it was Slade who originally did this, but this version is by far my most favourite!

  • pat mc manus played at my da's wedding hes good mates with him :)

  • RIP Tommy. Pat's stuff is amazing, living in Cavan now (when not touring of course) in a town near me called Virginia, saw him... Jayzus, loads of times! Last time being the summer gone by at the Rory Gallagher festival, an immense performance as ever. All I know for John is that he's now playing with Fastway who reunited a while ago, haven't got to see much of what he's been doing. Mama's Boys were amazing though.

  • These guys were great live, really liv' n up the NW200 when they played the BAY

  • 4 ppl, still live with mum.

  • I love the end.

"Not in front of all me friends, mum!"

  • paul ma glue where are you it frankie i was a rodie with you with you winters reign and mamas boys.

  • I saw them in the early 80's on a triple bill with Ratt and Twisted Sister. It was a great show. Twisted Sister was the headliner.

  • Do you remember in Atlantis at Basel? Long time ago..

  • sweet

  • Una de las canciones que me hicieron ser Rockero!!!! De las mejores. This son did make me be a rocker!!!! The Better. Saludos amigos.

  • Great band!!! Seen them open for Twisted Sister back in the 80's!!! Anybody know what happened to them?

  • Split now, but Pat McManus is playing a solo career with some of the most excellent hard blues you will hear at the minute. Look up his album 2pm.

  • @TheSteph46 they're from just up the road from me... they had a few lead singer changes, and then their drummer (also their brother) died, as a result of a failed bone marrow transplant i believe. as you can imagine, they didn't really feel like going on after that. they were great tho. recently seen pat play at the rory gallagher festival and it was some of the most original guitar playing i have hear in a good while - buy his album!

  • RIP Tommy

  • amazing how times change......classic band!!

  • i thought i was dreaming and was no such band and then i remembered if the kids are united and thought the drugs werent that bad

  • My mom dated the lead singer before they did this song...

  • Quiet Riot did this Slade song justice - but Mama's Boys smoked it for rawness. Even with the little keyboard flavorings --And the violin!--

  • I always thought that this smoked Quiet Riots version. MB is the only band that did Slade justice on this.

  • cool

  • Great version. I saw them in Amarillo, TX circa 1985, I think they opened up for RATT. Whoever they opened up for, they kicked ass that night. Great band, thanks for posting :)

  • class.

  • This version is great. Everything about it awesome!!

  • love it,love it....wish they would do a reunion tour...bloody love the 80's rock!!

  • Amen - so much better than Quiet Riot's version. I was so pissed when Riot got all the airplay, when this version blows it out of the water.

  • Hell Yeah Mama's Boys ROCKED!!!!

  • A great song and my fav version!!! 80's rocked!!! if you wern't there you wouldn't understand !!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE FUN YA'LL

  • Wow Thanks, can it be more 80's ?? By far a much better version than the Quiet Riot one

  • Excellent! Reminds me of MT USA!

  • Je préfère cette version à celle de Quiet Riot.

Mais la meilleure c'est quand même celle de Slade !...

  • Yay!!! Haven't seen this in years. Thanks for posting it dude!

I have the picture disc on Vinyl still.

    They ROCKED!!!!

  • ¡Ey! I need this nice song, I still seek after very many years ago, and I can't get it. Who can reach me this song!!! please(in mp3)

  • out of all the bands that covered this song ,this is the best one, I actually have this on vinyl.

  • yep, saw them live back in the summer of 83 or 84 or so.

  • Hadn't seen this vid in years. Mamas Boys rocks!

  • Needle in the Groove was on American TV in the 1980s, the video wasn't too bad and the song is still good too

  • northern irelands finest, i remember seeing the boys at the floral hall in southport i think they supported budgie that night, it'll be 1981-82, brilliant gig

  • what does it mean in Spanish?

  • Just out of curiosity, is that Ray Fean stage diving and head banging? I know Mama's Boys toured with Horselips. It just looked a lot like the drummer from Tuesday Blue and "Celtic Woman".

  • Hey, Any of you American Guys know this song is a cover of a song by English Band called Slade?

  • of course, im not american, im mexican, and this song is known in Mexico as a Clasic Slade song.(in spanish means something diferent)

  • I love this band!

    These guys shoulda been huge!

  • Agreed.

  • if you go searching in cd shops, perhaps you can get their cds. i got 'em all. A MUST.

    greetings from switzerland.

  • Greetings! I'm going to have to order them from Europe (or e-bay!). I cant find them anywhere in my local CD shops!

  • have you found their cds? otherwise i can burn the cds for you and send it to you?

  • No, I searched everywhere

during the holidays and came up empty.

That would be awesome of you to burn them for me!

  • do you still want me to burn the cds for you?

i'm doing it, and it's free of cost for you.

  • Takes me back. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I've been a Mama's Boy ever since junior high. I had their original album on cassette and transferred it to CD so I could jam it in my car. Good to see there are atleast a few of you out there with some REAL taste! Rock on.

  • great band and I picked up their "hits" recently on cd

  • out of curiosity, where'd you pick up the hits? didn't even know they had a hits album avail. I'll be sure to look for it.

  • What a band! Taken to my first concert in Cardiff 1983. Thin Lizzy supported by Mama's Boys. Hadn't heard of them (I was 10!) but a convert from that night on. Loved the AOR stuff also.

  • Mama's Boys rocked! Saw them on tour with Ratt back in the 80's and they were ten times better than Ratt. Their version of this song is far superior to Quiet Riot's. Great stuff.

  • must have been a great show..where did you get to see them at?keep rockin

    m2c

  • In my small home town of Salina, Kansas. Ratt wasn't quite that big yet, so they toured smaller towns. But I was hooked on the boys after that show!

  • cool

  • this band were tops. glasgow mayfair (now the garage) 1985 power and passion tour - one of the best gigs i've ever been to, and i've been to hundreds. great seeing this vid again. it's sad that the band never quite managed the big time. tommy, r.i.p.

pat and john went on to play with a quality outfit called celtus.

  • i can remember as a kid, hearing the boy,s practice at their parent,s house. on a cold frosty day u could listen 2 that sound comin down from the foot of rock &over the lough, erne that is.those were the day,s.

Grand souvenir.

  • Classic I seen them 13 times as a young Belfast Metaler, now Jon is a friend. Nice surprise thx.

  • thank you! u crazy motherfuckers!

  • I remember them from watching the Power Hour on Muchmusic as a kid, I still have like 20 hours of old videos. The one I like best from them is needle in the groove.

  • God bless Mrs.McManus!!! Pat still plays in athlone ireland often. Class!!

  • Can't forget them !!!! I was 18 yo when i saw them for the first time, and always a fan , really GREAT

  • class i went to see them in the horizon in mullingar

in 1985 and i still have a sore neck class rock on paddy h

  • Aah the memories..They turned up shortly after appearing on MT USA, the place was jammed and what a night!Yer man Finbar from the music shop co-promoted the night.I think it was the last gig ever played in the Horizon.Dunno what the problem was, they played all over the world, were top class musicians and should have been massive.

    Tommy Mc RIP.

  • Whos Tommy Mc

  • He was the drummer and the youngest of the three brothers that made up this group.

He passed away in the early 90's (1994 I think) after a relapse of leukemia.
