This irrigation system was made by Akron around 1960. It was purchased new at a cost of $6000 by jon4ford's Grandfather for irrigating tobacco on Belvue Farm. Used for about 6 years, the system sat idle 8 years, being used once in 1973. Now 35 years later it runs once again irrigating sweet corn. The system when used by jon4ford's Grandfather had a compliment of 32 Rainbird No. 30 sprinkers supplied by an Marlow 4 inch PTO driven pump. The pump was powered by a 1958 Ford 861 Diesel tractor
