No problems since getting it. I think the DDS80 is actually discontinued - they now offer just the DDS (without the drivebay). I have fitted mine into a 19" mixer flightcase with mixer and external HDD and removed the drive bay (so can't play CD's with the DDS.
I guess my only critique is that its not as responsive as some players I've used, and the PC software is not that great.
On the + side, the database used is SQLite, so if you're into databases, you'll be able to extra tracks to CSV etc
Shame it does not have a video output for ext monitor for viewing the menu or playing back video from the dvd, that would have sold me for sure, still shopping for now. But nice peice.
I have one of these, and have been playing for the last few nights. What isn't clear from the video, is that the bottom "bit" is simply a USB device - so if it fails, you can use a normal external USB HDD.
I can't find any effects (ie Dump/Phase etc), but generally the user interface is good- the screen is great! I'm from a Virtual DJ+Behringer BCD3000 background, but found the jump to be fairly simple.
Hmmm. It's not really that much different to a D2. It's a shame that with a DVD drive and a colour screen they didn't give it video playback capability.
I'll be getting one in 09. Love the idea of a color display as opposed to the Grey scale that is offered on my D2 player. Also the addition of a cd/dvd rom drive and built in hd is nice too!
it's a pity but it's not a reliable system. when I 've had it on for 3 ó 4 hours it crashes/stuck and you have to reset it.

One question: does the actual hard drive come with the system or do you have to buy it separately and insert it into the drive?

Quick update. I've now done a few gigs with this baby- - all very sweet!
The librarian takes a while (overnight!) if you want/need the profile view.
I'm going to contact NuMark to see if I can get the HDD Caddy make/model, as it would speed things up to be able to plug it into a IDE HDD bay.
I'm also using Microsofts "SyncToy2" to sync the HDD to a spare external HDD, it works a treat.

the only advantag it has i find from the d2 director its that it has a Key Lock for independent control of pitch and tempo i wish the d2 had it
