  • What was the thing you hit?

  • gonna need one of those when 2012 gets here.

  • @washnon: If you put a bigger prop on the stern, and rev the engine hard enough, it converts to space travel! :o)

Boy oh boy I do not like this YouTube new layout!

  • @washnon: Nothing is going to happen in 2012 except a lot of people running around like headless chickens for a few hours and then having a good laugh the next day, denying that they believed anything was going to happen. So go buy one of these subs. ;o)

  • wicked!! thats allways been my dream and I,v gotten a lot of crap for it, good for you!!

  • hey i was wondering what the song at the end is

    boss sub man!

  • my dream is a house that's a sub.

  • I'm buy the plans now. Very cool. Can't wait for more videos.

  • Alec...where can I get domed viewports like yours? and 1.how much would they cost and 2. what depth are they rated for?

    thanks again...

  • This is absolutely amazing and inspiring. I'd love to see more from this project.

  • i want to know how you control the bouyancy so effectively??? when i try experiments with a bottle (dont laugh)filling it with water to achieve neutral bouyancy it either floats or sinks- it must very be very precise how much air you blow to control static dives? any more footage I might be interested in the plans...

  • To get the buoyancy right, you flood a tank until the moment the apex of the dome is touching the surface. Although in the video I purposely overdo it to sink faster and then just blow a little ballast on the bottom. Plans are available on the psubs website.

  • thats a kittredge design isn't it?...how thick is the steel and how is it shaped? is it rolled steel?

  • Yes, it's a Kittredge K-250. The main hull cylinder is 0.25" thick, though in some areas like the juncture of coning tower and main cylinder it's a lot thicker. The steel is rolled from flat plate.

  • Now this made me scarred when you almost munched the big brick! How safe is it? How far is visibility? (5ft?) ... that cable, was it a power line or something? How would you compare lake diving to ocean water? ... must, have, more... videos :)
