  • Lol

    it makes me wheels whouble

  • bless douglas.

  • No matter who narrates it, I wish that the "Reality" had been pointed out like in the RS. Making an escape from scrap much more dramatic, as scrapping for engines is basically death. Would have been real intresting to watch IMO. :D

  • i miss george :(

  • me too

  • ive got the book and oliver also takes his coach isabella. still a gewd stroy and you r right Ringo is the best

  • Oh man, Rule /34/ potential there.

  • Aww, come on, give Carlin a break. He may not be the best but he's not all that bad. Let's see YOU narrarate any better. =/

  • i agree. carlin was one of the better narratos in my opinion. you guys just dont like him given the fact his comedy is offensive

  • Yeah at least he actually TRIED a Scottish accent unlike Baldwin who completely ignored the fact they were Scots and gave em normal voices. IMO Carlin was THE best narrator in the US.

  • Seriously. worst. scottish. accent. ever!

    Maybe it's a yankie thing...

  • george carlin ftw!

  • hey anyone notice that when oliver pulls them away from the hopper, they face away from him, but then they switch to facing toward him?

  • by "them" i mean the troublesome trucks

  • man ringo is still the best!!

  • so nostalgic, I still have all my videos back when i was a kid xD

  • you can clearly see mavis at 2:48 but what is she doing there she had already debuted on the show and in stepney gets lost mavis is in that episode playing a role, but stepney goes to this same diesal yard and mavis isn't there. they don't explain how mavis goes back to the diesal yard and how she comes back.

  • George Carlin was suppossed to say "freights train" and "right away conductor". but this is a good episode.

  • I loved watching these as a child. Still do today. Bring back memories.

  • this is like my favorite episode

  • who cares, it's a good ep.

  • I like this episode - brings back childhood memories. Though i don't understand why it is even necessary to have an American-dub. Have Americans so abused the english language that they cannot understand it anymore?

  • I wouldn't care, ;3

  • sorry, forgot to add this to first comment, i'd just like to ask our american cousins how they'd feel if we'd re-dubbed sesame street?

  • We really dont care.(not to be rude)

  • I actually agree... There really wasn't anything wrong with the original british TTTE.

Plus Ringo Starr is cooler than the american guy.

  • I think all narrators had their strong points, Ringo did the best Edward while George Carlin did a good Gordon and Alec Baldwin did a nice Mavis

  • you're right. ringo has the best childrens story telling voice (it was voted on). plus, i'm sorry, but the american narrator can't do a scottish accent

  • oh, and why can't they call him the fat controller on this version? He's always been called the fat controller, ever since the books were written! It's not like i grew up to be fat-ist! :P

  • worst, scottish, accent, ever! seriously, donald and douglas were scottish, they sound bloody russian on this. Plus, why do the americans have to change the narration on it? It's the same bloody language! It's a bit of a slap in the face to Rev. Audrey's original creation, and all it's charm, and to part of my childhood!

  • i remember watching this as a kid lmao

shame they dont have the english version with ringo star narrating..

  • does any one have the UK version?

  • i am 19 and still love this show

  • Main people, huh? You didn't mention Toby, Duck, Donald, Douglas or Oliver!!

  • i saw diesel is pulling a big steam engine

  • LOL sounds so funny with american voices

they cant do the scotish accent of douglas

  • i think there's a scene in calling all engines where they show engine `skeletons` on fire. breaks my heart that does. p.s. i think diesel is actually quite nice.

  • So many memories. 10/10.

  • when i was a kid this was my fav episode

  • its like a movie at the scrap yards

  • I dislike all the new characters, Thomas was great when I was a kid, Only the main people. Gordon, Henry, PErcy, Thomas, James and Edward. It was great when it was only them. Now all these new characters tht come along make this great show knda bad. I collected Thomas until I got too old. And now I don't havwe it all.

  • I can't agree with you more Sabresfan94. Up till Alec Baldwin became a narrator, alot of new characters arrived. Pretty much since George Carlin quit, Thomas episodes went downhill. The first episodes were the greatest, whether you like Ringo Starr or George Carlin.

  • i have like every epesode of these at leats all of the old ones

  • scrap makes my wheels(body)wobbele(shake)too Doglas

  • I didn't even know Edward had an angry face. Or the capacity to be sarcastic and abusive for that matter. I'm in shock! Epic episode anyways.

  • Taken from Percy's Ghostly Trick.

  • i love this episode : whenP

lol 4x4wheeldrive..i can understand. sometimes the faces on the models gave me the shivers aswell. i got scaired at the 1:13 part i was young...i dunno...it was jumpy

  • that kinda scared me too

  • the only time when i got scared as a kid watching these is when diesel was all pissed that he couldn't move the trucks and he would move forward really fast.

  • It did too. I was scared of Henry and The Elplhant. I thought Buuls Eyes would e sraceier.

  • Sacreledge!!!! You can't have a yank doing the voice over for Thomas The Tank Engine. He can't do a scottish accent, and Ringo Starr made Thomas his own. Michael Angelis did a good job, but whoever done this should be sued for making it crap.

  • agreed!!!

  • agreed in stereo.

  • this was my FAV episode when i was growing up, oliver is so much better than duck

  • wow,IM GLAD SOMEBODY FINALLY NOTEST!

  • notest what?

  • u no wat's weird? years ago wen i was a little kid i borrowed a brand new thomas VHS from a library and the sounds were all there but the narrations werent. i don't understand how that's possible but it's true.

  • I grew up with this show!

I can't believe they changed the feme toon! (Theme Tune)

    It's...sacrelige!

But I do love this show and this episode.

  • the part at the diesels yard freaked me out. makes you wonder what happens to the engines that were scrapped. like what happend if douglas failed?

  • oliver would be melted down and made into a few hundred paper-weights and toad would be used for fire wood?

  • It was the eyes

  • US version hands down. i'll agree angelis does a great voice but some of his voices are waaaaaaaaay to anoying sumtimes. i'd rather take starr ands carlin.

  • When i was little, I was scared at the 2:59 part

  • how come? douglas ain't scary

  • i prefer british version - better voices

  • agreed

  • OMG SCRAP

  • I remember the song from the rescue from when I was really young. It's nice hearing it again. Hate the narrator though. The Scottish accent is appauling.

  • I like the theme from the rescue(oliver's theme) but the UK Version is sucking! this one rules! the accent is MUCH better than the UK ONE! US version beats UK version hands down guys.

  • Well I don't think so. I generally don't like American accents of this sort though.

  • The American accent makes me want to rip my ears out and eat them. It really grates my nerves like a nail on glass.

  • whats so bad about an american accent? im british and i don't have a problem with it.

  • It just annoys me, is all. Some people hate it when knives skim plates, some people don't like it when people rake their fingers down a blackboard and I don't like this accent.

Although I'm getting used to it now. =)

  • Angelis doesn't give Douglas a Scottish accent though. He gives him a Posh one.

  • No he isn't. It is clear as day he is attempting Scottish and just can't do it well. I live in England with uncle and cousin in scotland.

  • i like the song too! da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, etc. etc. p.s. spammed your comment by accident very soz.

  • Scrap...scrap...scrap...scrap...scrap. Duh-duh-du-duuuuhhhhh.

  • what video in the us has this episode

  • Percys Ghostly Trick

  • this is our sons favorite

  • i saw Boco mavis and diesel

  • those are just Boco's and mavis'evil twins and diesel's nice twin

  • "A steamer's escaping! YooHoo! Yoohoo!" called a passing diesel-from Enterprising engines form the twenty-six books of thomas the tank engine and friends
