  • The comment from MelvinWren is so crude - just listen to it with your eyes closed if you find her mannerisms distracting - its sublimely lovely. Musicians often look odd when performing - they are thinking about the music, not the adolescent male who might be watching rather than listening.

  • what the fuck is she doing, demonstrating fellatio?

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • I wish I had a basset clarinet!!! D': <3

I'm playing this as part of my university audition in a few months on Bb! It's so beautiful! :)

  • hmmm 4 ppl hav no taste in music......

  • Comment removed

  • Simply Beautiful

  • who the heck disliked this??

  • I don't like the soloist's circle-movements while playing. Looks really silly in my opinion.. It's kinda like headbanging to say, a Justin Bieber song to me.. Still sounds really good though!

  • I might play this for solo and ensemble but on a B flat

  • So splendid.So marvelous

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife: you really are clueless about the female anatomy, LOL! WTF are you commenting about her dress for anyway?

  • Listen, god is whistling.

  • That clarinet looks a little longer than a b flat...is it an A clarinet?

  • @jlvyn13 Yes, this concerto is originally written for Clarinet in A.

  • @jlvyn13 It's actually a basset clarinet in A! It goes down to a low C instead of E

  • @jlvyn13 yup

  • Comment removed

  • @jlvyn13 Yes it's a clarinet in A, but with low notes originaly from Stadler's clarinet in 1791. These instruments it's very rare, but the sound is exactly sound imaginated by Mozart.

  • OUT-rageous...tsall I'm saying

  • This is really fantastic!

I would like to play it on tenor recorder. Does anybody know, if there are sheetmusik for this case? Thank's.

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife just because they're playing mozart's music, doesn't mean they have to imitate the dress code of the classical era. and that dress isn't revealing at all. OMG A SHOULDER, A BARE ARM SO LEWD. what are you, a prude?

  • @HeyWheresKel She is millimeters from having her fucking tits fall out you fucking retard

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife maybe if she had big tits they would be in danger of spilling out. but she's pretty flat. and the dress doesn't look loose. come on. millimeters? are you blind? clearly you can't see the positioning of the dress on her chest.

  • @SquirrelFromGradLife Maybe she should be burned as a witch. IF you don't like what she's wearing, close your eyes and listen to the music. Sharon Kam is one of the most talented musicians of this generation. She can stand naked for all anyone cares...and who wouldn't want that? Music, Mr. Squirrel, listen to the music.

  • Este es el sonido que me reconcilia con el mundo...

  • God gave us hearing in the knowledge that one day he would create Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

  • Simply beautiful. What brand of clarinet? How many keys?

  • What is this venue? Is it in Czech?

  • Where is it? in what theater?

  • Wow! What passion

  • "this boy will cause our reputation to be forgotten" Adolf Hasse, for those who do not know Hasse they can blame Mozart.

  • Thanks for sharing this nice performance

    greetings

  • Am I nuts, or does the conductor look like a profesorial version of Jerry Seinfeld?

  • hmin310 the professional version of Jerry Seinfeld is nuts

  • I like the first movement more, but it's still great!

  • Great performance but ... don't look at the soloist !

  • Reminds me of Out of Africa with Meryl Streep playing Karen Blixen - sad and brilliant.

  • Wow!!!!!!!! Great playing, though the movement is a bit annoying. Anyway, wow!

  • crazyclarinetplayer is a bit annoying

  • @nakedBison69 gee thanx.........................

  • the range and variety of the clarinet ceases to amaze me

  • @BluesSkillz you meant "never ceases to amaze you," right?

  • Czech Philharmonic Orch....So this is recorded in the operahouse of Prague?

  • was Mozart poisoned for writing the Magic Flute ?

    there are rumors....

  • the epitomy of all clarinet music! from...the gas station LOL.

  • @vancouverclarinetist I must agree with you. She plays this peice stunningly, much better than I can.... But her movement does annoy me slightly....

  • Excellent! from Sweden:)

  • BEST!!!!!---Bravo from POLAND.

  • Beautiful. Amazing.... I feel to cry while hearing this music. :3

  • This was played absolutely beautifully! I was mesmerized. So inspiring too. I have been playing this piece for years but will never be able do it this way! Thank you.

  • Bravo from Macedonia.

  • Excelente vídeo, excelente solista, excelente orquesta, hermoso ♥

  • This is my single favorite piece of classical music. I listen to it when I am despondent, or tired, or need to ground myself.

  • @Reeseriver Bravo! Same here.

  • Why do people listen to pop music when this type of music exists?

  • This is beautiful. I listen to this concerto when I'm tense or can't fall asleep. It's wonderful.

  • what concert hall is this? anyone, please?

  • She plays awesomely but seriously, I agree with @vancouverclarinetist, her movements are annoying as fuq.

  • love the low range of a basset clarinet

  • get over it! Its a Performance. her movement is part of her expression.

  • I played this before, it's so beautiful and simple which is what makes it a true work of art!! I may do this for my solo this year

  • The melody is infinitely BEAUTIFUL

  • @wajsar nuh uh. its finitely beautiful. still beautiful though.

  • Einfach nur genial!

Ich wünschte, ich könnte so phantastisch Klarinette spielen...

    Thanks for posting.

  • To the people who commented on my comment on the simplicity of this I say that OBVIOUSLY simplicity is a necessary virtue in every work of art. If you think simplicity is a flaw then your judgement is flawed.

  • simple melody yes, but that leaves so much up to the soloist and THAT'S what makes this movement so difficult. Trust me, I've performed this before, it's a lot harder than you'd think to put that much emotion into a piece of music and that's where she scores major points here. Beautiful.

  • amazing!!! anyone who thinks this is simple watch her playing the third movement

  • the melody is so fucking simple!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @atirisdes My first question is, why would you focus only on the melody when there are other things going on. My second question is, is there something wrong with simplicity? These are merely subjective value judgments - a choice you make.

  • To those of you who complain about the movement, perhaps we could arrange for you to be blindfolded during the show in which she wears a rubber Ronald Reagan mask over her face while she plays this beautiful concerto so well. Or perhaps you could just listen from within a closed cardboard box while the rest of us occupy the plush seats.

  • derangedRanger1 enjoys being blindfolded while wearing a Hussein Obama mask over his ugly face, listening within a closed, cardboard box while the rest of us occupy the plush seats

  • @nakedBison69 wtf? hu?

  • She plays this beautifully....but I'm getting motion sickness! ;)

  • *´¨)

    ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)

(¸.•´ (¸.•WOW...The One of the best musical pieces i've ever heard...its indescribable..

  • The clarinet is simply one of the most beautifully designed musical instruments as far as tone, pitch, and just feel go! It does however require great skill and talent to play..well! She does a great job... I find it hard to play as quiet as she does in some places granite I am way beyond the age or "skill level" of squeaking as one would say, but even without squeaks and even with them the ability to get the amazing sound or.. texture such as the one she has is beyond amazing!! Great job!

  • amazing! beautiful playing!

  • bravo!:D

  • is she drunk ?

  • @lyonsin hehehe...now now... :)

  • Don't hate on the movement. Her tone's still gorgeous, her expression is great, and if she looks like she's enjoying it and/or displaying her passion for the piece, then by all means... do it. Music was meant to be enjoyed by both the player and audience.

  • @harke127 I agree with you, her movement shows her depth of feeling like a ballett dancer. Just beautiful and so engrosed in the wonderful music she is playing that she cannot help but portray her feelings as she plays. Beautiful!!!!!!

  • Yo. All y'all is ignorant. All y'all listen to Mary had lttle lamb and do jumping jacks like best thing ever. @ethernetsc, I dissect and divulge your buffoonry. @nakedbison69, you like stupid vocabulary think you smart get a life stupid

  • stupid ilovekbo has no life. ilovekbo's buffoonery has been both dissected and divulged

  • suck my dick

  • My favorite piece from the Romantic Period. It makes me dreamy and calm but after seeing the stunning Sharon Kam play it, it probably will raise my pulse hereon.

  • ...you do realise this was written in the CLASSICAL period, not the romatic! Also, i don't doubt that she is a very tallented clarinetist, however she looks drunk by her excessive movement on stage

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • AlwaysBelieveBasso is excessively drunk

  • @nakedBison69 From a chronological standpoint,

it was composed during the Classical Period.

But in style, sentiment and instrumentation, it belongs

to the Romantic Period. Please refer to my rejoinder to AlwaysBelieveBasseo.

Notice too that other posters here discuss what is the

  • but this is from the classical period, not the romantic period

  • @nakedBison69 ...ideal clarinet to use for the piece, wheteher a Bb clarinet or a Bc and others. The reason is that during the

Romantic period, there was a great innovation in the use of valves in all wind instruments giving rise to their variety. Even not there are disputes as to what kind of clarinet Mozart would have required to be used to play this piece. If you will listen to the other movements of this piece, you will notice

  • ....the modulation, pitch dynamics and harmonies

    characteristic of the Romantic Period.

But enough of this, I am not here to fill in

the gaps in people's musical education.

As the adage goes "Ars longa, vita brevis."

    Let's just enjoy the music.

  • etnecserc has gaps in his musical education

  • @nakedBison69 True - gaps the size of crevices, Yours are the size of canyons. Imagine depending on dates to classify music and ignoring style, technique, orchestral organization and instrumentation.

  • etnecserc the ignoramous knows nothing at all about music nor anything else. etnecserc ignores anything about everything

  • @nakedBison69 Please be specific about my alleged ignorance just as I dissected and discredited your criticism. Otherwise, let's just sing "You say to-may-toe and I say toh-mah-toh" and let's call the whole thing off.

  • etnecserc refuses to be specific about his ignorance. ethnecserc has been dissected and discredited. ethnecserc entire knowledge of music consists of the song You say to-may-toe and I say toh-mah-toh

  • @nakedBison69 This is getting to be fun. I am really quite familiar with autistics with echolalia. You know, people who repeat the words and ideas of the person with whom they're trying to communicate. If you keep up this discussion, I can come up with a full psychoanalytic study of you. Who knows, I may be able to use it in a monograph.

  • psychoanalytic studies of etnecserc the echolaliac have been published in monographs

  • @nakedBison69 Ha! Ha! At least you have a sense of humor and are able to make fun of yourself.

  • even etnecserc realizes how much he deserves to be made fun of, even joining in on making fun of himself

  • @nakedBison69 Oh, I always make fun of myself. Unlike you, I'm not onion skinned. You shouldn't take yourself too seriously. Nevertheless, I think I like you already - a barrel of dilettante buffoonery. You make my day.

  • onion-skinned etnecserc takes himself too seriously. etnecsec is a barrel of dilettante buffoonery

  • Does she play on a buffet for both Bb clarinet and basset?

  • WONDERFUL !!!!

  • Prachtig gewoon, ogen toe en genieten

  • So is this Basset Clarinet in A? therefore Low C is concert A??

  • no a low C on the basset clarinet could be a concert Eb

  • @monster9500

The low F on a B-Flat clarinet sounds a concert Eb, so how could a basset playing a low C sound like a concert Eb? The basset is tuned to A, and a C on an A clarinet sounds an A concert.

  • @haru1ove

Yes, a low C on basset is concert A.

  • im doing this song for the solo and ensemble festival here too. my teacher is making me do both the first and second movements. she does this so beautifully

  • I love you Sharon.

  • she plays it absolutely beautifully... WAY better than I can play it...

but her movement still annoys me a tiny bit...

  • vancouverclarinetist's movements annoys everybody a lot

  • vancouverclarinetist's movements annoy all of us a whole lot

  • @vancouverclarinetist same here!

  • @vancouverclarinetist lol excellent comment

  • @vancouverclarinetist Yeah.... nice playing... but the way she feels the music.... urgh~

  • @vancouverclarinetist Wow that bothers you?? To me, it's like a beautiful dance with her Clarinet. You can just see and feel her passion. I think watching her is as beautiful as the music is.

  • @vancouverclarinetist

why is a soloist not aloud to move when he plays..

is it forbidden under any international musical assosiation law LOL

come on.. it is how she feels what can you do.

the same like vengerov for exemple.

good musicions need this movement four a number of reasons.

i must say i ve been in an enormous amount of lessons master classes and concerts of her's. shes perfect in every aspect, nothing is exegerated :)

  • wow

  • Those lower notes are absolutely gorgeous!

  • i love sharon kam!!!!

  • im doing this song for solo and ensamble festival this year. im nervous lol. she's amazing!! XD

  • GOOD LUCK!!!!! are you at least performing it on an A clarinet?

  • thanks!! and nope. the judges wont let us. it has to be on Bb clarinet. :(

  • i'd have to say this is one of the most touching and beautiful movements that mozart has written

  • What a beautiful basset Clarinet sound <3

    very pleasing to the ears

  • for you michael jackson

  • Divine!

  • Aaaaahhhhhh, basset clarinet sounds so cool! So dark, and yet so warm!

I played this last year on a normal Bb clarinet... I REALLY wish I had a basset to play this on!

  • this is beautiful. its very relaxing.

  • dude she sways a tad too much...beautiful playing, but that's a HUGE clarinet...wonder what type it is....

  • She plays on a Buffet Crampon Prestige Basset A Clarinet. It's beautiful!

  • she sways cause she's reallly getting into it. lol

its a basset clarinet. it goes a few notes lower than a Bb clarinet

  • goes all the way down to low C! :D!

  • this piece is simply beautiful and touching to the soul...

  • i learnt tom play this by ear...

  • so beautifull... :D

  • dude I can totally play this! (up until the sextuplets on the first page =P)

  • they aren't THAT hard...... lol

  • sextuplets??! you mean: 32ND NOTES? :P

  • her embrochure looks perfect and her face calm. i would love to be in her mouth while she was playing (ew ew i just realized how dirty that sounds, lol, but i'll post anyways).

  • Who was the composer who said, "I would trade all of my works for one of Mozart's slow movements"...

  • I guess it was Richard Strauss

  • Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

  • pt3ww;

    The best play so far!

  • You know thirty minutes ago I came on youtube to watch a video about computer hardware... how did I get here by just clicking the related videos?!

  • lol the beauty of youtube!

  • Her Bassett Clarinet is so pretty. I love the way she expresses herself by moving. ♫♫♫

  • no it doesn't, If you have the correct embouchure you could move all you want and still have the same tone when standing still. Besides, She's not moving so much as if she's having a seizure; She's just swaying. It's beautiful!♫♫♫

  • seriously,

if you wanna see tooo much moving

type in langlang piano and you'll know.

  • i wasn't very fond of the clarinet till i came by this video :)

  • WHAT??? How could someone not love the clarinet - yes ,even before this... :-P (Mozart hated the flute himself as we all know... )

  • Mozart liked the clarinet but did not like the flute. Mozart composed a beautiful piece involving the harp and the flute (K 299), yet did not like the flute. very, very strange

  • @nakedBison69 Interesting. I have done lots of research on Mozart and never saw that he did not like the flute. Where did you find this? Certainly, the flute was EXPECTED to be used in certain situations in Mozart's time period (see Zaslaw's research, for example) - more so than the clarinet. I knew the clarinet had appeal to Mozart, but I have never seen evidence that he "did not like" the flute. I am interested in your source for this please.

  • derangedRanger1 "does not like" that anybody would reveal the truth about Mozart's dislike of the flute. derangedRanger1 needs to provide a source for this

  • @nakedBison69 No, I really don't care whether he liked the flute or not as far as my own value judgments. That doesn't phase me. I didn't look for a sarcastic answer, I simply asked you to show me where you found this so I could look into it. I am very interested in the "fact" you (or someone else) has constructed because it could be useful to me. If you please, tell me where you found it.

  • derangedRanger1 sarcastically puts "quotes" around the word "fact." derangedRanger1 refuses to tell us where he found it

  • @nakedBison69 Well, I can see that you have not read the question because you are not responding to it. Sorry for bothering you with it. Good day sir.

  • derangedRanger1 neither reads nor responds to questions

  • @eppurs1muove Someone else said this about the flute, but in all of my research on Mozart I have never come across a comment that he "hated" the flute in any of his letters, etc. I do agree that he loved the clarinet - he does talk about this, but hating the flute? Of course I could be missing something, and if so, please tell me where to look. Can you tell me what source to look in please?

  • @DerangedRanger1 hates the flute

  • @eppurs1muove B-but I'mma flute....;n;

  • @MadisonxPxFitch WHAT!? You're a flute!? Seriously!?... And you can decode letters, comprehend sentences, AND successfully create your own though? THAT'S AMAZING! I want a magical typing flute that has a mind of its own!

  • @shutupsasukebio Yep. It's kind of easy once you get the hang of it. ;) Took me thousands and thousands of years.
