don't be ridiculous, people. if p2 is holding down a shield button, it doesn't mean a thing. the basic shield still leaves you immune to grabs. It's not an attack, its a grab. its not like "perfect shields" can prevent grabs or anythig. DDD could have immediately rolled or sidstepped to escape the grab.
you can't see the shield on frame 1. you should have the person try spotdodging. Anyway the bowsers boards don't even make the claim that bowser can chaingrab everyone, rather they say he can regrab after grab release.

I play as Bowser a lot and I am known on campus for doing very well with him.
He is just not a chain grab character. Most other characters could easily jump out of his reach after he combos. Actually you are wrong. And I'll tell you why.
First of all the shield comes out in 1 frame. If Bowser is able to regrab the opponent before the shield comes out this means 1 of 2 things.
one, the opponent is still in lag and bowser can regrab.
two, the opponent has 1 frame to try and escape the grab.
If two is the case they will still be grabbed anyways, and here is why:
spot dodges have 1 frame of start up vulnerability.
rolls have at least 3.

Actually I have A code that let's you go through the game Frame by frame and the shield does come out on frame 1. You can see it on that frame.
