It comes openable with the motherboard in a ESD bag that's taped.

cool. was there any form of protection that came with it on the slots? not regarding the cpu cover of course. i am just scared that msy screwed me again since my first purchase was a heavily used i5 with thermal paste all over it etc...

@imsososogreat There was a foam acoustic protectiong for the bottom motherboard and a clear plastic cover on the NB thing

There should not be any protection over the slots.

btw there is no northbridge on p55 boards.

if u want to know about the northbridge on the p55 motherboards, i will send u a link. basically, the memory controller (northbridge) has been moved to the cpu
