@kb826062871 depends on what kind of training phase it is. Usually the same session though. Ideally you would do two short sessions in a day with plyos first, but most people don't have time for that. I have free programs on my site if you wanna see the kinda workouts I write
@dirkofyork Do you do plyometrics very often? That's a big part of it. Also, deadlifting as he did it in the video is mostly lower back and hamstrings. Lower back is core, so that's good for jumping, but hamstring strength really is not that vital for jumping. Quads are what you need to work. So more one leg squats and some split squats would probably be good.
thanks for the reply, i have a 42 inch vertical off of one foot, i do plyos like once a week and just mess around with pistol squats once a week if that, i dont try very hard, seems the more rest you get between sessions the higher you jump.
your jump is incredible , so much for the basketball myth of white men cant jump .
i have a question for you its really important , since the martial arts instructors i train under great as they are ,dont know much about the subject .
how do you lift that much without getting big ? im really just intimidated by that , because my muscles seem to respong quickly to hypertrophy ,and its no good for a fighter .
a little bit of detail would be greatly appreciated .
hey , its me thezer0celsius.. its been about 2 months since ive last emailed u and ive made great gains , my vert is somewhere between 30 and 32 inches +) but for some reason i cant get any stronger ? i increase reps every week like u said , but no gains , wats wrong with me ?
well done u improved well nd look at ur dunk im 5'6 but i can touch half of the net but i didnt do any exercises i fink i jus got it from playin basketball but i started to do the workouts now nd im gettin closa nd gd vids (Y)
how many reps do you require on 1 leg squats because i can leg squat 40 punds with 5 reps should i increase my rep? so that i can further increase my jumping ability.
how come your programs cost money now... i remember b4 they were free i never got the chance to do any of them but yea i see your friend has gained a lot form w/e program you prescribed... great job
I just had a couple free training segments up before. Now i made a bunch more and they are customized for different athletes, and I made videos for every exercise. It was a lot of work, so I decided to ask for a little money
sort of, it's moreso based on your ability level in different areas, strength, reactive ability, flexibility mainly. I also talk about explosiveness and coordinaton, but I don't really classify people with those.
shoulder power contributes to jumping, but other than that upper body stuff doesn't really help. But if you play basketball you want to have all around upper body strength for controlling the ball in all different positions.
Im actually confused by how much I can 1-leg squat. My regular squat max is 335, if you add my bodyweight I'm squatting 545. If you add my weight to the 100 pound 10leg squat its 310. I would think 1-leg strength would be less than half of 2-leg because of stability issues, but mine is easily more than half. Anyone have an idea why?

Really? You're using that program
offered by the site:
JumpHigher.info
It was good to hear that you're
using it also. It was my 2days training now
and I kinda like it and see good results.
I like its training video cause it shows me
exactly how to do proper exercise and
stretch.

How do you organise yr time for doing Plyos & weight training?
I mean, do you do both of them in the same session, or do you separate them in 2 days?

teddypel 2 years ago
you can do different numbers of reps. anything up to 12 is fine. if you can do 5 with 40 pounds try to get to doing 5 with 50 pounds

very understandable...are the workouts similar to the vertical jump bible where each workout is for certain athletes w/ certain verticals?
